I Still Love You Julie is on Crime??? I totally didn't know that
|
so those three are acoustic? because i just discovered i actually have MOST of their albums downloaded without actually knowing it. i have all of RAR but i think its all acoustic. so i'm going to buy the album tomorrow and see i guess.
|
Jordan's First Choice on RAR is electric. 8 Full Hours of Sleep is the only acoustic track on RAR.
|
When I Still Love You Julie is played on electric, it loses all its subtlety, the acoustic version is so much better.
|
I always liked the acoustic versions of those songs better.
|
so im seeing AM! on tuesday, any one else going?
so today at my schools coffee house two guys played those anarcho punks... which was pretty good. they didnt stop at the break, but it still was cool. then i got up a played **** stroll and pints. unfortunately i dont have audio or video for either act, i wish i did. if a vid does get its way on youtube ill post a link. |
Your school has a coffe house? What kind of white bread suburban school do you go to?
|
My school does this thing called The Grind every wednesday night where they have free coffee and cookies and people play music, read poetry, etc.
|

fairly average one actually, one of the other high schools (they are the REALLY REALLY rich one) puts on a festival once a year, with 3 stages and a bunch of local bands. NAHS hosts it and they have free food and bands come in a play and stuff. normally its a lot of metal/hardcore, but this one band has played for 6 years straight, and so they made it "unplugged"
My school does this thing called The Grind every wednesday night where they have free coffee and cookies and people play music, read poetry, etc.
i think our school should do it more then twice a year, but the administration is retarted. how many people show up? |

as long as people came with new stuff to play/share it would be cool. its always the same 50-100 people for our coffee houses.
|
My school does "open mic night" and student council and sometimes a boyfriend or girlfriend comes and no one does anything except for the Fresh Prince theme song.
|
My school's radio station is putting on a music fest with the headliner being Mission of Burma.
Great to not be in highschool. |
My school's radio station is putting on a music fest with the headliner being Mission of Burma.
Great to not be in highschool.
Wow, that's really awesome. I want to see that band pretty bad. |
my highschool had coffee houses and stuff and last year even a battle of the bands. they are usually pretty lame but i still do it.
|
I went to a battle of the bands at a Catholic high school and kept getting in trouble
god free youth up in this bitch |
Are you done trying to get punk cred, Kevin?
|
Too bad I'm already punker than you by so much you might as well be Ronald Reagan.
|
I always do our schools battle of the bands, and win, due to the fact that we're always the only non-gay metal band. Every other band is usually some **** "metal" band.
Also, thread related, I just re-discovered my copy of New Wave and gave it another listen. I actually like almost all of it now. It's decent shit. Not as good as Searching For A Former Clarity and stuff but meh.. |
Our school doesn't do Battle Of The Bands thank god because I would not want to sit through like two hours of douchebag buttrock bands, Atreyu tributes and Operation Ivy cover.
|
So I was just gettin' my swell on at the gym, and Thrash Unreal came over the radio.
|
i love when there is good music at the gym. they played the shittiest song list yesterday...
|

I hear it almost three times in a 7 hour shift. It gets to be such an annoying song to work(or workout) to. |
Am I the only one who's never heard AM! on the radio?
In other news, seeing them in 11 days. |
I haven't
|
The last time I saw them was pretty sweet. They played five songs off RAR.
I also saw them do Disco Before the Breakdown the time before that which was awesome. |
Against Me! get played on mainstream radio these days?
Ewww. |
OMG selloutz
|
The more I listen to New Wave, the more I love it. It's been on constant rotation the past few weeks.
It seems like the record that Searching... was supposed to be. |
I listened to SFAFC the other day and was pleasantly reminded. I do like New Wave quite a bit though, everything but Animal, can't stand that song.
|
I play SFAFC every once in a while but I still can't get into it.
|
Violence is one of my favourite AM! songs.
TakeWarning, do you have TEE exams atm? |
so saw AM! last night in DC. best show ever. they ended with the ocean, and everyone was like "WTF, ill kill you if you end on the ocean" then tom gabel comes out by him self with an electric/acoustic guitar and goes in to "cause baby im an anarchist", then when that ends the rest of the band comes on stage and they play "impact", and to finish it off they did "we laugh at the face of danger". it was the greatest show ever.
to top it all off i got the set list of both world inferno and AM! |
That's a pretty impressive closing.
|
I had the one like that, but with What We Worked For instead of Impact. Impact would be sick to see live. Thinking about their shows, I want them see them again really soon..

Also, when did World/Inferno play, were they first? I just have a feeling that, since it'll be their first time playing over here, they wont get as much crowd enthusiasm as they really deserve (execpt from me, because I love them). |
i never really got in to world inferno, and the only place i really heard of them was here. they went on second, after cobra skulls (think if johnny cash was a punk). both bands were really good, they played some stuff that people called out which is always really cool. since i dont know the songs by name i can post the set list so you can get an idea of what they played. (also there was alot of people who knew them, and got a couple big mosh pits, but then again im in DC not michigan, lol)
then came sage Frances...yea...that was interesting. if you never heard of him hes a rapper from providence Rhode island. one of the first things he says is "throw your guns in the air" and about 10 whitest of the white kids throw there "guns" in the air. i thought he sucked pretty bad but i have some friends that are really in to him. |
Rory World Inferno is huge in Michigan I don't know what you're talking about.
They were in Detroit with the Bouncing Souls and then again like two weeks ago. |

When I went to see them open for the Subhumans in Detroit they had plenty of fans and it was great. However, I seem to be the only fan of them in Grand Rapids (which they'll be playing for the first time at in a couple of weeks), as well as other places in West Michigan. They're getting quite a bit of radio play on my college's station right now, though. I reviewed their newest CD for the variety DJs. So maybe that'll change in this area. |
