"Wake Up" is more of a setup to the rest of the album than anything else.
edit: , wholy crap, new avatar, thanks to Damrod! |
oo, I'd +rep you for that avatar if you weren't already a mod :p. Yeah I just dont really think it suits coheed and cambria that well. I mean, always and never is an awesome track because its soft, but also really evil at the same time. But wake up.. meh, probably my least favorite coheed track.
|
If I weren't a mod? I need the rep, I have -46. :(
Oh god. The Willing Well gives me the creeps everytime I listen to it. |
which section? the whole thing? I love how they put that evil voice backing up claudio on the first willing well. Same with Al The Killer, it hits the spot nicely :thumb:
|
All four sections. I used to think the first was the creepiest too along with the fourth, but the third is really scary. God, I love it.
|
oh yeah, at the very ending, when his voice like drains out. That made me jump the first time I listened to it.
|
The part right before Claudio first says, "Jesse, bad boy", on the later part of Section 4 reminds me a lot of either the opening of "The Suffering", or "A Favor House Atlantic". I'm not sure which.
|
I think im going to have to check this out. Give me a sec.
Oh yeah, and the chorus of the suffering reminds me a lot of the ending of Three Evils. Edit: Wait, are you talking about the 3rd or 4th section? Cause 4th is Final Cut. |
Shi. 3rd section.
|
yeah, its Blood Red Summer you're thinking of im pretty sure.
|
Perhaps, but I'm still leaning on the other two songs.
BTW, what's your favorite C&C record? |
thats probably one of the hardest questions I've ever been asked. It leans more in the direction of IKSOSE or SSTB. I can't really decide. I think IKSOSE lasted the longest in my CD player though.
|
I think Good Apollo and SSTB are tied. In Keeping Secrets is great yes, but doesn't compare to the brilliance of those albums.
|
I think that IKSOSE had more emotion put into the vocals and just the story line overall. Especially with the Light and the Glass which is one of my favorite coheed tracks ever.
GA is a lot more rock even blues influenced, with the solo's and the willing well tracks which are all 7+ minutes each. SSTB is right up there with IKSOSE but i just feel like claudio was a little hesitant with the story line. The songs are no doubt a bit darker though, and thats one thing i love about Coheed. |
I cant stand Wake Up (except it wasnt so bad when he did it live and it was just guitar), and all of The Willing Well except for The Final Cut seemed like it tried too hard to be epic. It came out sounding like a big mess of different parts to me.
SSTB > Most records Ive ever heard. And im pretty sure youre thinking of blood red summer, not AFHA or The Suffering. They always fit a part of their last album onto the next one, like with both Time Consumer and I, Robot being in 21:13 on KSOSE. Now they fit Blood Red Summer into this one. |
It's definitely "Blood Red Summer" that I was thinking of. I listened to the whole song and I realized it was that and not the other two.

hate to sat i told ya so :p just kidding haha. yeah cob is right, and yeah wake up is good live with just claudio on acoustic, but the light and the glass is still better |
"Light And The Glass" is my least favorite on recording, but live is awesome as an acoustic.
|
Welcome to the Heed Thread Storm. :)
Have you listened to IKSSE along with LOTR the fellowship? It's pretty cool. It's awesome how it syncs with the movie. Beating off to Coheed though? That is pretty creepy, but whatever floats your boat. Love the avy btw. PS: When do the acoustic sessions come out? |

my band covered it for a local show, it was pretty sweet. It was a bit tricky to nail the intro with the playing/singning but i got it down. |
I love TLATG both acoustic and recording. An amazing song imo.
|
yeah, i like both, but the recorded version i rather to listen to more.

That beating off to Coheed thing wasn't supposed to be taken seriously. :-| I luv the avy too. |
claudio's doorstep, nice buddy :p
|
I think that it's sad that Coheed are taking the route of The Wall, where there's a few solid songs, surrounded by a lot of songs of lesser quality. Hopefully, this next album brings us something completely different (while still sounding like Co&Ca) with quality songs the whole way through. /relatively pointless commentary.

:D Oh yes.
I think that it's sad that Coheed are taking the route of The Wall, where there's a few solid songs, surrounded by a lot of songs of lesser quality. Which one is your favorite? |
I think that all the songs are pretty good quality, but no doubt some of the songs really stand out more then others.
|
I think IKSoSE:3 is the only one that hits a couple bumps.
|
with what tracks? like the velourium campers
|
Yes.
|
They grew on me a lot, they are some of my favorite tracks on IKSOSE. At first I didnt really like them, but once i started to learn them on guitar, i dont know why, but i just appreciated them more. Plus everyone can relate to the 2nd VC at one point in time "i have no luck with girls" then again.. maybe not. Al The Killer is just one of my all time favorite coheed songs.
|
Faint of Hearts is the best of the Velorium Campers. It sounds so different from anything else on the album, and I think it hints at what they would sound like on the next album.
|
true, it is very different from the others. I still enjoy Al The Killer, but i just really love how claudios voice sounds so evil. I dont know about foreshawdowing on how the GA would sound like, i think the songs in GA got a bit darker lyric wise.
|
I'm going to listen to "VC: Faint of Hearts" right now and look at the tabs of the songs, but I've easily listened to that whole CD over 150, maybe 200 times so I don't think they'll grown on me.
|
Can anyone send me the new EP?
EDIT: The acoustic version of Al The Killer is sooo tight. |
Hello, and no I haven't listened to IKSoSE:3 with LOTRTF, but I guess I should try it out, with the movie on mute, or volume up?
That beating off to Coheed thing wasn't supposed to be taken seriously. :-|
Yeah, watch it with both audios on. It's pretty weird. Start the cd once you press play on the DVD. :p Let me try and find Kif's post on the whole lotr thing. |
To the album discussion- I've said it before and I'll say it again. GA killed Coheed. There's like one good song (Ten Speed) and good intro to a song (Welcome Home) and then the intro to the cd and that's it.
I cannot express how much I despise that cd. |
Okay guys. I really don't like C&C.
Entice me to give them a second chance. |
Ten Speed and Crossing The Frame are incredibly awesome songs.
