megadeth ****ing rule, peace sells, trust, kill the king, dread and fugtive mind, in my darkest hour they all rule :thumb: :thumb: :thumb:

Did Marty leave Megadeth, or did dave fire him, and when did this happen
|
Marty left after Cryptic Writings, to the best of my knowledge.
|
Was Cryptic wings around 1997?
|
Who was o with megadeth during risk and the world needs a hero? i am pretty sure marty was on megadeth until the world needs a hero.
|
Marty played up until Risk, which was '99.
Cryptic Writings was '97. Al Pitrelli played on TWNAH. |
Ohh okay thanks why did marty and nick leave?
|
Marty left bacuase he just wasn't enjoying the band anymore. He wanted to branch out and try different things that he couldn't do in 'Death.
At least that's what I read somewhere, I have no idea if it's true or not :-/ |
is nick with marty or another band right now?
|
He's not with Marty. He briefly re-joined 'Death for TSHF, but then left again.
|
Nick, IIRC, got kicked out after Cryptic Writings for lying about drugs. I believe he said that he was robbed at a MacDonalds or something to that effect and that was why he didn't show up for a gig or something, when he instead was either getting drugs or was high already.
Marty left after the Risk tour because he didn't like the direction that the band was going in and he wanted to branch out and do different things that Dave didn't want to do. This is when Jimmy and Al joined respectively. Nick was going to come back for the TSHF tour, but he wasn't able to physically play that stuff anymore. Vinnie Colaiuta did the drumming on TSHF and now Shawn is drumming live. |
This might be a stupid question.. But can someone tell me the scale thats used in the extended she-wolf thats on rude awakening?
|
When was chris poland in the band?
|
He was their first lead guitarist. But I'm pretty sure Kerry King was a temporary guitarist before they found Poland.

He was the lead guitarisat in killing is my business? |
Yeah. Here you would probably appreciate this site, if you already havent been to it. Someone posted a link to this site a little while ago. http://megadeth.uw.hu/videos.html, all live 'Deth videos. Enjoy!
|
Is that really chris poland, he looks bored on the last rites/loved to deth vdieo
|

Me and my friend were saying the same thing. Look at his pinky in the rattlehead video when he's playing the solo. Its funny because he can stretch is so far because he broke it before or something. So like, no other guitarist can play that song because they can't reach the note with their pinky. |
Gar Samuelson
Chuck Behler Nick Menza Jimmy Degrasso Vinnie Colaiuta Shawn Drover 6 different drummers....I wonder if any band had more drummers than the 'deth |
I wouldn't really count Colaiuta as a full member of Megadeth, since he was only a session drummer for one album.

Death went through five I believe. In fact sharing one, Richard Christy, with Iced Earth.
|
Actually, going back onto the point about Chris Poland being bored. I also noticed this in videos. It's most likely because he's more into Jazz/Fusion than Metal itself. He only took the role in Megadeth cause he descibed the music as challenging.
Still! Amazing Guitarist. |
I agree, he's an amazing guitarist, hell anyone who's worked with Mustaine is an amazing artist in my opinion, he definately knows how to find the best.
On that note, I think the SFSGSW guitarist (Jeff Young?) was the best :p |
Friedman will always be the best but all of Megadeth's lead guitarists have been top-notch.
|

I personally think Marty was the best Guitarist in 'Deth. Chris didn't do enough in the band to warrant me picking him....Same with Jeff. Plus, I think Marty is the best talent wise, as he's considered a Guitar Virtuoso, yet didn't even have training. |
I know in terms of skill, Friedman is the best.
But what I prefer isn't always just skill, I think that SFSGSW has the best solos to date, also the best riffs, it's possibly all Mustaine who does the solos, and if that's the case, more props to him. |
Hopefully we will get to hear Glen Drover record some material with Megadeth.

Dave did most of the solos on albums before Marty was introduced into Megadeth. He is really underrated as a Lead Guitarist. I love the solo after the intro on the Conjuring. Yeah, SFSGSW has great riffs, but I still can't go past Rust for the best riffs. Some of them are mindboggling. |
The rhythm guitar on Take No Prisoners is just insane. With Rust In Peace, it was like they turned up the intensity a few notches compared to the 80's material.
|
Yeah! I was thinking that. The Guitar tone is very different aswell.
|
Yeah, the guitars were noticably fuzzier on RIP.
Also the songs structures seemed really different, Most of the songs didn't go verse, chorus, verse chorus etc etc. Besides Tornado Of Souls, Rust In Peace... Polaris and the first half of Hanger 18. In fact most of the songs don't even have a chorus! |

Yeah, I think pretty much every 'Deth album has at least one song with awesome riffs, lately I've been listenning to 1000 Times Goodbye alot and I love the intro of that song, up until the first chorus and solo following it is awesome, after that, meh, I usually skip it. |
I've been listening to Hook In Mouth heaps in the last couple of days. I love the lyrics.
|
Yeah, the lyrics are pretty good. Nice to see that Dave fought against the PRMC.
|
Put youre hand right up my shirt
Pull my strintgs and make me work!! Yes i love the lyrics to the song |

Great song after a few listens like much of SFSGSW.... those songs I thought all sucked upon first listen, it took multiple listens to appreciate the genius in that album |
