Awwww, sorry... god Im an idiot for not reading all of the community thread...
Your crew is wicked, dammit i wish i had a crew. Actually I do, but they all have crappy musical interests except for 1.
You only said that. That doesnt mean they dont listen to hardcore, maybe they listen to hardcore and stuff like folk polka. Which is what I assumed. |
You are a bad assumer.
|
You are a bad assumer.
I fail myself :upset: |
Hahaha, if this thread were a sitcom, gotkookie would be the retarded kid from next door that annoys everybody.
|
LOL that made me laugh.
Hahaha, if this thread were a sitcom, gotkookie would be the retarded kid from next door that annoys everybody.
ahaha. I would be the stud who gets all teh chicks. |
Buddy, do the Warriors still play stuff from their old EP or just the new Eulogy stuff?
|
Stop going to Throwdown shows then. I goto a Champion show and you know who I see? Genuine kids doing things to have fun. I don't see what the big deal is with watching a band? I can watch a music video of some band strumming and holding a mic, but I won't get the same feeling if I try to two step to some band in my room while watching a video. Nor will I be able to do mad stage dives and sing alongs.
Uhh, dude, quit the tough guy facade, I hear yr mommy calling. I don't know about you guys, but at shows I go to, when people are moshing, they get laughed at. It looks stupid, it's pointless, you hurt other people, etc. Sometimes I used to brin9 t3h mo5h back in the day, but I've just realised it's completely ****ing pointless. Last time I looked, hardcore wasn't filled with bands who all sound the same (Like a ****e version of Youth of Today), kids who all look the same and bitches who hit each other for fun. |

You DO sit at home. You don't hit anyone in a pit. No one gets laughed at in a pit (considering it's dancing is accepted in hardcore) and the point is to have fun...like I pointed out before. Oh, and Three G One have nothing to do with hardcore. Yes, they are big in the fashion scene. But no, not big in the hardcore scene. And you talk about Youth Of Today rips offs but listen to these avant-garde bands who all sound the same to me and quite a few others. You come in here talking about a scene you have no idea about. |
31G FASHIONCORE?
The band that released the SWING KIDS DISCOGRAPHY? Get a clue. Like I said, you don't know **** about this 'hardcore' scene you claim to be part of. The only scene you're part of is the MTVxcore scene, dude. Evergreen Terrace and all that ****. |

They brought Judge, Gorilla Biscuits, Youth Of Today, In My Eyes, and so many more bands in. Oh and last time I checked, Swing Kids did nothing in hardcore. Get it through your thick skull, hip-pretentious emo/avant-garde don't have a place in the hardcore scene. |
I don't know about you guys, but at shows I go to, when people are moshing, they get laughed at.
And you probably go to mainly emo/screamo shows, which would make sense. No one should mosh it up at something like A Day in Black and White or Hot Cross. Judging from your posts here, you don't go to many shows a la 100 Demons. There's nothing wrong with that, but you're judging an entirely seperate scene from your seperated point of views. Way to be egocentric.
It looks stupid, it's pointless, you hurt other people, etc. Sometimes I used to brin9 t3h mo5h back in the day, but I've just realised it's completely ****ing pointless.
Someone outside this realm of underground music could say a band breaking down onstage is stupid and pointless. It's all about perspective you hypocrite/imbecile. Rarely do others get hurt. That's not the point of it, and if you go into a show with that kind of music, you're an idiot if you DON'T expect that kind of thing to happen. Stay at home and listen to your precious limited edition split 7" on clear vinyl if you want to be away from the scene and in the midst of the music in action. It is not completely pointless. Moshing, or dancing, fuels the band moreso than if everyone was just standing there. Even at emo shows, people still "dance" to a certain extent. It might not be quite moshing, but it's something that's done with the same intent and overall purpose as moshing at a hardcore show.
Last time I looked, hardcore wasn't filled with bands who all sound the same (Like a ****e version of Youth of Today), kids who all look the same and bitches who hit each other for fun.
You should bother looking beyond Atreyu shows and Alternative Press, dolt. Kids that look the same... Yes. "bitches who hit each other for fun"... just no. There's a reason they're not push pitting. |
Can you even read?
I never said Revelation did nothing for hardcore. I merely stated they turned major and turned their backs on hardcore. That girl who works for Revelation, what's her name again? Vigne Martinez or something? She's awesome. She did Simba (Not sure if they're still going) and released the September 10". There are still good people working for Revelation, but most of the stuff they release is mainstream ****. They also have pre-printed bar codes. What the ****? I never knew hardcore was about making money. |

Pre-printed bar codes for mass distrobution...yeah that's breaking our scene for sure  |
torn is British. No wonder he has such a jacked-up perception of hardcore.
|
Swing Kids are one of thee most influential SD hardcore bands ever.
I'm not British. |
Swing Kids are one of thee most influential SD hardcore bands ever.
I'm not British.
Who the f.uck are Swing Kids? You have to realize that all you do here is piss everybody off. Your an obnoxious, pretentious emo elitist who should be off raiding a thrift store looking for a new scarf. Without major distribution, bands wouldn't be able to spread their message OR their music. Bands can't stay local forever, and they can still be DIY even if they do tours in Europe with the help and money of their label. As for the MTVcore statement, when's the last time MTV ever played anything remotely related to hardcore? There's headbanger's ball, but it's not like we all learned about metal and hardcore from watching it. They usually play stuff like Atreyu anyway--I like Atreyu, so that's a different story. Basically, what I'm trying to say is: LEAVE. |

So how does it feel to be obnoxious?
|
tornpictures, what bands you listen to? if you say when people mosh at the shows you go to and then they get laughed at, i doubt you listen to hardcore. as said before by buddybigsby, you probably go to emo/screamo shows.
|
So how does it feel to be obnoxious?
No one likes you, you elitest bastard. :) |
Torn pictures is an idiot, nuff said.

Yaphet Kotto, Pg. 99, Majority Rule, Transistor, Transistor, Wolves, etc. Hardcore. Anyone who says otherwise is an idiot and has no idea what hardcore is (about). |
No one likes you, you elitest bastard. :)
Message boards are a great way to hide your insecurity, aren't they? Who's the one telling kids they should stop listen to Taking Back Sunday and go listen to Cirlce Takes the Square because they're underground oop screamo? |
Message boards are a great way to hide your insecurity, aren't they?
Who's the one telling kids they should stop listen to Taking Back Sunday and go listen to Cirlce Takes the Square because they're underground oop screamo?
They should because I admit they have the wrong idea on what emo/screamo is. |
Yaphet Kotto, Pg. 99, Majority Rule, Transistor, Transistor, Wolves, etc.
Hardcore. Anyone who says otherwise is an idiot and has no idea what hardcore is (about).
Those bands aren't hardcore, you have a warped perspective on this. When I listen to Pg99 I don't hear or visualize ideals and standards set by bands before them like Youth of Today and Gorilla Biscuits. They don't have the roots, and YES roots do matter in a genre. |
"Regulator Watts is pretty blunt about the fact that they are, for better or worse, indicative of what goes on at Washington, DC's Dischord Records. Any way you slice it, this trio, which includes Alex Dunham from defunct Dischord luminary Hoover, fits perfectly into the DC hardcore mold. All the elements are there: the emphasis on rhythm, the technical proficiency and the bile-makes-right demeanor. But Regulator Watts is also part of a maturing process of sorts of the DC sound. Rather than incorporating the mosh-it-up structures of prior bands, Regulator Watts opts for the offbeat over the downbeat and mixes in a somewhat newfound appreciation for sparseness. It's not that they don't provide ample opportunity for the kids in the pit to air it out, there's just a bit more going on in the lulls. Joining in the free, all-ages fray are The Sort and Lefty's Deceiver."
Quoted from a DC 'zine. |
I forget to tell you guys Suicide File is doing a reunion show this winter. I might go seeing as how I can drive then.

You do have a valid point there, but if you listen to Yaphet Kotto (or well, read their lyrics), you'll see what they're about. Anyway, I find it quite entertaining that I signed up a couple days ago and caused such a stir. |
Reunion shows suck.
For the most part, they're pretty disappointing. Did anyone see Moss Icon play at More Than Music a couple yaers ago? Badbadbad. |
Reunion shows rule provided it's the whole band and not like 1 member. Ignite reformed and they were amazing when I saw them.

It's awesome to see one of your favourite bands play, but if you listen objectively, the chemistry is often gone. |
Okay, half British. Dutch / British hybrid, lived in the USA for a couple (7) years.
|
Not always, as said Ignite was awesome. It all depends on what terms the band is on.
|
Yeah.
Did anyone see Braid on their recent reunion tour?? |
Yeah.
Did anyone see Braid on their recent reunion tour??
Sadly, no. I really wished I could have though. I really hope Good Clean Fun comes back in 6 years. |
:'(
Braid were so much fun live. Awesome show back in the day: Still Life, Indian Summer, Shroomunion, Braid, Cap'n Jazz. In a basement. |

But that show sounds amazing, I haven't heard of Shroomunion before, though. |
