Talking Heads - Remain in Light
|
I went to the Big Day Out yesterday, and I saw the Polyphonic Spree, and it was the most amazing thing I have ever seen. ****ing hell. If any of you ever have a chance to see them live, do it, it's insane. I'm still in awe.
So yeah, I'm digging them. Also the Blues Explosion are fantastic live. |
a girl band!! *woot woot* Stars, i just cant remember the name of their songs
|

i passed up going to their show for some reason (cause i wanted to go then just didnt) and i finally downloaded one song by them, and that one song alone made me want to hang myself for not going. |
I'd barely heard anything of theirs, what I'd heard didn't blow me away... but live they're just amazing. Face melting rock awesomeness.
Tangy, you saw the Explosion at the NZ BDO, right? What was the last song they played? Hopefully the setlist was the same as Melbourne's, because whatever they played last blew me away. |
Last week it was Guided by Voices, this week it's The Velvet Underground because I bought the Peel Slowly and See box set for no better reason than it was $30.

Spiral Architect are appealing to my cheesy side but only because of the bassing.

Bar listening to an extreme metal compilation Jondur sent me a while ago, I've been having something of a Flaming Lips day today. I'm coming to the end of the Soft Bulletin, for the first time in a long while, now, and I'm thinking of spinning Yoshimi.. afterwards.

Their show is kind of a blur because they didn't stop at all between songs. Once one was finished they just launched into another one, which was cool. |
...And You Will Know Us By The Trail Of Dead - Worlds Apart
I got this yesterday, I've listened to about half of it and I already love it. |
Today i'm diggin Fugazi, Bright Eyes, The Cure, Hope of the States and Joy Division.
|
Right on. Enjoyable, isn't it?
Yeah, it's good. |
Hope of the States
madcore |
the oldies...
yer shins, coldplay, some nine inch nails (kickin' the Fragile), ...trail of dead, Eagles of Death Metal, type o, queens of the stone age, the cure, the pixies. I'd say a bit varied but still some goodies. Also ive taken much interest in Clint Mansell the score-composer for Reqiuem for a Dream- amongst other good film noirs, and Hanz Zimmer's OST stuff is borderline excellence too. |
Alot of The Faint and Death From Above.
|
Choice excellent choices.
|
my brother introduced me to pavement, and i wanna hear some more from them, i need to find a good cd by them...although i'm sure they're all good

I had it on my computer for a while, but never listened to it through headphones. You miss a lot without that. :( Next up: Platypus. |

You miss a lot without that. :(
I've never had the opportunity of listening to that album with headphones on straight through. But it's definetly nessesary. "Violence Domestica" has so many little parts that are hard to catch without headphones. It's like watching A Clockwork Orange and being that kid in the institution with the violent problems... :amaze: |
Hatfield and the North, Nucleus, and early Pink Floyd.

death from above, the used and motion city soundtrack
|
White People and The Best Best of Fela Kuti

|
Juno is the band of today! Yay!
|
Deadbolt by Thrice is byfar the song of the day.
|
Kings of Convenience.
|
The Arcade Fire are on Conan right now. There's a strange beauty to their music that's always appealing to me. Didn't know it would take so many instruments though.
