Fortress just jerks around too much in really poopty ways. The parts are all dynamite really and as epic and poppy as ever; the flow is just really poor most of the time though.
I don't know why I find Kezia so perfect Is there stuff people don't like about Kezia? I think the songs just flow better on Kezia (thus I'd say they have more inspiration).
vocals on a calculated use of sound are horrible
Yeah |
pfft. call me a teenybopper, because my favorite part of any protest the hero song is the ultra pop section in heretics and killers. the vocals being the best part.
|
I think there are far more poppier (and greater) moments on Kez
|
yeah, turn soonest to the sea has some cool vocals arrangements.
|
rocked out to ACUoS in the car today. I still play the original pressing because I ****ing hate Soft Targets wedged randomly in the middle of the tracklisting. It's still their best album to rock out to.
|
i also have the original pressing, and what makes me feel really elite is that i bought it well before they even started recording kezia
|
Fortress and Kezia have their pluses but I like the progression they made on Fortress.
|
Their third album will be a plunge into further obscurity. But still greatness.

\m/ I like the black colour scheme though. My original pressing barely works anymore. I need to get my record player hooked up so I can be ultra-elite and play Search for the Truth. |
This might be the most over-rated album on this entire site. I'm giving these samples another run-through right now because of its apparent popularity here at Sputnik, but this thing just oozes of nasty commercialism. This material definitely gives the Dragonforce albums a run for their money in the cheese department. I'd challenge anybody here to put this album against Brainstorm's Downburst. It's easy to pit one against the other because both are accessible, aggressive, fast-tempo and melodic Metal bands with Prog-Metal leanings. The difference with Brainstorm is that their melody lines are done with class and you can actually remember them when the album is done. Anyone out there who has both of these recordings? No doubt that this most recent Brainstorm recording should be much more popular than the very Nu-metal PTH. Yeah, I said it. What of it? Go check out the single-type tracks 'Fire Walk With Me' and 'How Do You Feel' on Downburst and tell me that it doesn't bury the PTH. And, I'm not even that crazy about Brainstorm, it's just that bands like that should be much more popular than they are.

lol

I'm hearing 'Bone Marrow' again and it feels me with the urge to touch other guys. I've never had music have this kinda affect on my libido. There should be a disclaimer on the CD case that says that the music inside might give you tender feelings towards other men.
|
yeah it's the band's fault you like dudes

wtf  |
pretty sure he just outed himself
|
it's not protest's fault you have no musical memory
so many of their songs stick in my head it's not funny |
especially on kezia
"A sin i didnt care for was a sin that paid my debts a sin that fed my children that burned my smiles and cigarettes" gets me every time |
Okay. If it wasn't for the vocals I'd like this band. I know they're trying to be different, and I respect that, but it irks me and seems lame.
|
he isn't trying to be different
|
Well w/e, I don't like his vocal style.
|
pretty sure he just outed himself
lol. that's funny. but wrong. this here record is so gay that it actually has the power to twist a fella all kinds of fairy-like. I went into the listening experience as a straight dude. Schitt, playa, I just bagged a neighbor's wife at the start of the week, and I likeded it a lot. So I'm straight up figurin' that I'm a straighty.....But, then, just today, I popped in the ol' PTH for a test drive. And......alls-a-sudden, I had the naggin' urge to grope the balls off of my Pop. Can ya believe it? My dad was just standin' there and I felt the itchin' urge to just grope the balls right offa him. Grab into his shorts and jangle his berries. He started talkin' to me so I paused the PTH....and I noticed that the feeling went away as soon as the PTH stopped. He left the room and I hit play again. Alls-a-sudden, I get overcome with this homo feeling again. I have a boy dog just sitting there on the floor sleeping and I find myself reaching down and just beatin' the heck outta the pink pencil. the dog's junk just flies across the room and lands on my Matt Damon poster. A poster that I would never had bought before listening to PTH. So, you draw the correlation. |
moltenlava, your trying too hard is showing.
|
haha wow.
|
Is it still a freudian slip when you write an entire paragraph?

Only if I went to say "The production on this track is so clean" but instead said, "The erection on Jack is so queen"....Then, yeah. |
what does brainstorm have in common with protest the hero? i mean, yes they both use drums, distorted guitars, electric bass guitar and vocals but aside from that

I mean, ya know, no two bands will be comparable on all points of measurement, but the commonality here comes in the realm of melodic accessiblity and a superficial, almost trite, attempt at progressive songwriting structure. I think Brainstorm does it with some class, and PTH?......ah, not so much. Do you like what Brainstorm does, Pete?
Idiocy follows no rules, like logic
You, my friend, are a butnugget, bar none. I happen to adhere strictly to the rules of logic. And, if you knew me at all, you'd know this to be true....in the extreme. I pride myself on my unwavering rationality. You know how I know myself to be entirely rational, Monsignor ButtNougat? I ACED the logic portion of the LSAT both times that I took the exam. And, most likely I'll be beginning St. John's Law program in a month. That's how I know that I'm rational. So, you sound simply foolish, little Frankie. |
Can you go away?
