i already have it and in fact i deleted it (i think), why? simply put, it's wack as hell...yeah luni is good, has his own style etc there's a lot of artists in the bay area that put it down

Menage Ska 02-03-2007 10:58 PM

I smoke to that CD everyday and workout to it everyday so I don't find it wack at all. It gets me PUMPED! Different strokes for different folks.

Can someone recommend me some songs that are similiar in style to "Bleeding Hearts Club" by P.O.S. feat. Slug? I've already got two of Atmosphere's albums and one of P.O.S', but I was looking for some more songs in the vein of the P.O.S. one I mentioned.

Glitterati 02-06-2007 03:27 PM

I've been listening to Pranging Out by The Streets a lot lately. Great ****ing song.

faith and fiction 02-06-2007 09:03 PM

Lately I've just been listening to a lot of Souls Of Mischief and AZ

Flagjacket 02-06-2007 10:49 PM

I just got into Pharoahe Monch and Organized Konfusion lately, Organized Konfusion has such a Wu Tang vibe off of it, I was listening to an album and I thought I had put on ODB for a few minutes.

sgrevs 02-07-2007 01:45 AM

That sounds cool. I love ODB. I want it now.

Apocalyptic Raids 02-07-2007 02:07 AM

I like ODB in small doses.
Lately I've just been listening to a lot of Souls Of Mischief and AZ
I've been listening to Doe Or Die heaps, awesome stuff.

(*The Noonward Race*) 02-07-2007 12:13 PM

I know it's been rejected many times but if we have a blues forum we should have a rap hip hop forum and a section for producers. I think we could attract people here for that.

ATM 02-07-2007 05:48 PM

Albums I'm digging lately:

Thonk 02-07-2007 07:43 PM

Smif N Wessun is good stuff.

I've been digging Heltah Skeltah lately. Along with Souls of Mischief and Black Star.

What Organized Konfusion/Wu-Tang have you heard? I can't even imagine how you made that comparison.

sgrevs 02-07-2007 11:38 PM

I've been listening to Game Theory by the Roots and Violent by Design by Jedi Mind Tricks over the last few days. What does everyone think of them? I quite like the dark theme to the Roots new one, its pretty impressive. VbD is quite good, but I haven't given it enough to really dig it.

Apocalyptic Raids 02-08-2007 12:38 AM

I really like Violent By Design, it's easily JMT's best.

from CL2 apparently?

sgrevs 02-08-2007 05:25 AM

Sounds pretty cool. Dig the horn sample. When is CL2 meant to be out? Soon?

Apocalyptic Raids 02-08-2007 05:34 AM

It's supposed to come out in the summer (winter for us southern hemisphere folk).

I can't wait.

sgrevs 02-08-2007 05:36 AM

Sweet that's only a few months. Like 4 maybe. Should be good.

Kyle 02-08-2007 10:35 AM

I'm seeing Plan B tonight. Dunno what to expect, but it was cheap so I don't really care.

ATM 02-08-2007 05:48 PM

Let us know how it was.

Possibly the best East Coast rap album ever.

Apocalyptic Raids 02-09-2007 07:07 PM

I don't know whether it's just my computer, but that link just showed a blank page.

Same here.

It says (GIF Image, 1x1 pixels) so i'm guessing that's why.

ATM 02-09-2007 10:55 PM

You guys heard the new Brother Ali yet?

badtaste 02-10-2007 08:07 AM

Anyone heard the notorious BIG 'Duets -the final chapter' album. It's alright, only really enjoy 'Nasty Girl' and its sexist lyrics though.

"I go, on and on and on and
Don't take them to the crib unless they bon'in
Easy, call em on the phone and
platinum Chanel cologne and
I stay, dressed, to impress
Spark these bitches interest
Sex is all I expect
If they watch TV in the Lex, they know
They know, quarter past fo'
Left the club tipsy, say no mo'
Except how I'm gettin home, tomorrow
Caesar drop you off when he see his P.O.(hey)
Back of my mind, I hope she swallow
Man She spilt a drink on my cream wallows
Reach the gate, hungry just ate
Riffin, she got to be to work by eight
This must mean she ain't tryin to wait
Conversate, sex on the first date I state "You know what you do to me"
She starts off, "Well I don't usually"
Then I, whip it out, rubber no doubt
Step out, show me what you all about
Fingers in your mouth, open up your blouse
Pull your G-string down South, aoowww
Threw that back out, in the parking lot
By a Cherokee and a green drop-top
And I don't stop, until I squirt
Jeans skirt butt-naked it all work"

Nah, it was supposed to be Kool G Rap & DJ Polo's Live and Let Die, which is seen as the birth of mafioso rap. The beats are amazing and Kool G is nice as always.

Robert Crumb 02-10-2007 03:40 PM

I hate to quote Edan but, "Kool G Rap was prolly da sickest of all a dem."
