OBSCURITY!

I just saw your avatar again and I just remembered:
3 Inches of Blood, that guy is no longer the drummer. I think he either quit or got kicked out.

Just days away from their U.S. tour with Chimaira et al, 3 Inches Of Blood have announced the departure of drummer Matt Wood. According to the band, "Matt informed us last month that he would be leaving the band once we got home at the end of June. The reasons given were both musical and personal, but there's no animosity between us. We respect Matt's decision, but are moving forward and still playing." For now, the group has enlisted the services of drummer Alexei Rodriguez (ex-Walls Of Jericho, Catharsis).
Thanks.

I just picked up the new vic firth pad, i've had the corpsmasters for awhile and the good ole' MA-30 click. I looked all over for my stick control book to add in and can't find it :( I tore the house apart lookin for it too.

Sure beats playin on the top of an old throne like I used to down here

ThugsRook 08-03-2005 09:36 PM

you need to dump that vic firth stuff and come home to promark ;)

i always end up twirling the sticks and practicing BD combinations with my feet ~ rudiments, i need to practice rudiments!

swift 08-03-2005 09:37 PM

Tim 08-03-2005 09:38 PM

Plan B. 08-03-2005 09:46 PM

The Click sounds like a military weapon.

Yeah, those corps masters rule for practice sticks, I picked up a pair for pads (or in my case...pillow), I'm already noticing results when I go back to my usual sticks. Great for building up wrist and finger strength. Stick control is great, I've been working on doing those exercises with the hands and feet, to build chops, and for some awesome beats, rudiments used in beats and grooves can sound pretty awesome.

Double Bass Jim 08-03-2005 10:00 PM

Deffinlety man, keep workin those fingers!

maxthedrummer 08-03-2005 10:55 PM

sorry to change the subject, but how to you pronounce vinnie caluatia (no idea how to spell it)

Seafroggys 08-03-2005 11:07 PM

Ralph's are okay, but everybody uses them. THere's better out there.

Try Jim Cassella Corpsmaster sticks. I fricken love those things.

The best chop builders from my experience are the MS2 Corpsmasters. I just bought a new pair and have been working Stick Control for the past couple of days on my old Ludwig Vacuum pad!
Ralph's are okay, but everybody uses them
For good reason ;)

tigerstripes 08-03-2005 11:30 PM

I got some Pro Mark TXDC3SW marching sticks, but I dont use them much I got them to try out different sizes and feel. My question maybe silly and noobish but Im not to proud to ask. Why does the heavy sticks build chops better? Because of the weight? Or the size or the combination, I would love a short explantion please, thank you.

Seafroggys 08-03-2005 11:33 PM

Just like how everybody likes Travis Barker for good reason?

i say it "call - eeee - oo (as in tooth) - ta"

well i just got back from my friends, and we were watching harold and kumar. wow, i saw it before and thought it was funny, but the second time around was torture. i have to say, i hated it this time. and i was supposed to go into work at 7, but now i'm getting a ride in at 10, and working till 5. 3 hours less than i wanted, but money is money i guess. i think i'm mowing again tomorrow, which is a good thing. i can even bring my new discman. :thumb:

did anyone see conan yesterday? max went to ozzfest, and said mastodon, shadows fall, and lamb of god were amazing. i don't like shadows fall, but the other 2 are amazing. i woulda never have guessed max to say that.

Plan B. 08-04-2005 12:59 AM

Yeah I saw that!

I was like sweet, Max is so gnarly.

By the way, I pronounce it "Call Eh Ou Tah".

Jezen 08-04-2005 01:09 AM

Jim, I know your online right now. Tell me your AIM/MSN/ICQ and I will send you Stick Control.

Jezen 08-04-2005 01:10 AM

Vinnie Colaiuta.

Cool-ee-aa-taa

Double Bass Jim 08-04-2005 01:11 AM

It's around here somewhere I don't need a copy.

Josiah 08-04-2005 01:13 AM
Vinnie Colaiuta.

Cool-ee-aa-taa
Not quite.. Call-E-Oo-Ta

That would be the best english pronounceation, though not the true as it is a foriegn name.

It's Italian.. like my last name, Micheletti.

Jezen 08-04-2005 01:16 AM

Well ill pronounce it as I do until I meet him, then I will just call him Vinnie.

And Jimmy, if you don't find it, you know who to ask.

Double Bass Jim 08-04-2005 01:17 AM

Lack of respect to vince is a banable offense!

Plan B. 08-04-2005 01:19 AM

Jezen 08-04-2005 01:20 AM

:O

I love Vinnie! He rules! He has always been one of my top favourites.

Josiah 08-04-2005 01:23 AM
Lack of respect to vince is a banable offense!
Very much so!

Vince is a great guy, so passionate about playing drums. Lucky are those who get to meet and talk with such an amazing player.

CombatWombat3 08-04-2005 02:10 AM

Ya, so I haven't slept all night, and I have to work in abour 4 hours. I work at my school doing custodial work/housekeeping, and then go work at a theater. My show opens on Friday, so I'm kinda nervous. I do technical work, mostly lighting and sound.

Voodoo Rabbit 08-04-2005 02:58 AM

Ohhhhh, good luck (or break a leg or whatever) with your show....
That must get annoying.
Naw, not really. It kind of Ambient music, it's really nice but it's making me all sad....

Drummer-Ross-C 08-04-2005 04:43 AM

Yeah Break a light......
