So Wintermute, Bartender tells me you are the one to discuss all things beer with, especially the virtues of Cold beer vs Warm beer.
I have pretty strong tastes in beer, that's for certain. Of course, we're talking beer here. Not watery chemical urine soup.*

Ever been to the Hoffbrau (sp?) House in Germany?

Best. Beer Drinking Place. Ever.

DeusExMachina 02-10-2005 07:03 PM

I haven't tried it much, but I've never really gotten into beer. Just, too bitter for me.

Distant Echoes 02-10-2005 07:07 PM

And i thought i was the only one that didnt like beer

TrainTakeMeHome 02-10-2005 07:19 PM

I'm interested in seeing how many of you PFers out there like Tool as well. I've noticed a large amount of Tool fans enjoy PF, i wonder if the inverse is true as well..

Otherside 02-10-2005 07:26 PM

The two bands are actually pretty similair... and their both some of the best bands ever.

pigonthewing82 02-10-2005 07:31 PM

I love Tool, but I'm sure that any true Pink Floyd fan prefers them over Tool, and thats why all us Pink Floyd fans are bitching, well and because those cheaters just suck

Sam 02-10-2005 07:55 PM

I cant stand tool. Pink Floyd are one of my faves.

Tool is just...Tool.

PeenkPhloide 02-10-2005 08:09 PM

Hey everyone. I am doing another brick part 2 for out schools variety show thingy. How would you suggest starting it off? my drummer kinda just started in january, but he said that happiest days of our lives is too hard for him. So should we start with just the drums for abinw or drums with that funky guitar riff? or i could start off by doing the melody really slowly... what do you guys think?...uh thanks

guitarded_chuck 02-10-2005 08:23 PM

I don't mind Tool, but I really don't believe they are one the greatest bands ever. Just another rock band, with some extra talent. I don't see anything extra special to make them great. What I do see is too many 10 year old kids with Tool wristbands.

Johnny B. Good 02-10-2005 08:26 PM

Why are we talking about Tool in a Pink Floyd thread?

PeenkPhloide 02-10-2005 08:29 PM

what are those stars under some ppls names?

pigonthewing82 02-10-2005 08:29 PM
Why are we talking about Tool in a Pink Floyd thread?
Who knows? Why were we talking about beet before? Things just come up. Besides you would have to thought they would come up soon enough in the thread after all the Tool bashing from Pink Floyd fans

Johnny B. Good 02-10-2005 08:31 PM
what are those stars under some ppls names?
It means they're cool
Back on subject, What do you guys like best early Gilmour's work or later Gilmour's work? later will be Wish You Were Here and on from there

guitarded_chuck 02-10-2005 08:32 PM
Why are we talking about Tool in a Pink Floyd thread?
Why not? They're often compared, so we're giving our opinion. Especially since the Tool vs Floyd battle in the Top 100 poll.

This is a Pink Floyd thread not a Tool thread that's why

PeenkPhloide 02-10-2005 08:34 PM

i like all of it really...but moreso the latter stuff

I like his early work better, well just because it includes Echoes

lunch998 02-10-2005 08:39 PM

So, SOYCD 6-9 is awesome. Anyone agree?

PeenkPhloide 02-10-2005 08:41 PM

wait...im a tard...i was thinking floyd in general...forgot waters did a buncha stuff...so yea.. imma haveta say earlier stuff

PeenkPhloide 02-10-2005 08:42 PM
So, SOYCD 6-9 is awesome. Anyone agree?
That whole album kicked soo much ***. I lubb it.

pigonthewing82 02-10-2005 08:43 PM

One of the most horrible things I've heard regarding their early days was today by sombody in my lunch "I think Gilmour is awsome on Interstellar Overdrive" :upset: just....... :upset:

guitarded_chuck 02-10-2005 08:44 PM
This is a Pink Floyd thread not a Tool thread that's why
Like I said.. whatever...

And it is obviously his later stuff. Echoes has what, one good guitar solo? I don't really like the Wall much, but it and Wish You Were Here are Gilmour's best guitar albums with Pink Floyd. And then comes his solo career, which has some pretty nice stuff too, especially if you are talking guitar.

Well, at least they got the "....awesome on Interstellar Overdrive" part right.

No one I know has even heard Interstellar Overdrive.

pigonthewing82 02-10-2005 08:45 PM
That whole album kicked soo much ***. I lubb it.
Yea I wouldn't call that an album as much as one long song so its hard to say whitch is better then whitch because the cd needs all the tracks to work.

PeenkPhloide 02-10-2005 08:46 PM

i wish people in my school liked pink floyd...its the same as when i liked metallica...but i dont like them nemore...yea...well noone in my school likes what i do...

Well I would think that too, but I know him he is just one of these people who bought Dark Side of the Moon and one or two greatest hits cds (like relics) just so he can say hes a Pink Floyd fan, I would rather have an ignorant fan, then an ignorant poser

Yea, those people are really annoying. At least none of my friends pretend to get into classic rock, they all just listen to Incubus.

guitarded_chuck 02-10-2005 08:55 PM

I don't mind those kind of people really. Chances are they'll get into the music after awhile. When I first heard of Pink Floyd I didn't know who Syd Barrett was either. I got into him because I bought they're first album first, which I usually do, because it's the best way to get into a band.

Kingofdudes 02-10-2005 08:59 PM

A lot of Tool fans on this board hate Pink Floyd.

Personally, I like them both.
