well u no like to be able to do what malcolm doesi mean look at him he pounds his strings for 2 hours and during an extended version of let there be rock on tours
Well..... malcolm does play harder chords than open, but not by much. His sense of time and rhythm is fantastic.
Any schmuck could do chords to 4/4 time, I thk he's good at that, but if AC/DC started playing in maybe 7/8 time then I would give Malcolm more credit, all I've really heard from ANgus that Malcolm does is play those barre chords with his hands, and that Angus can't because his fingers are so small. So all Angus has said is that if he had bigger fingers he could play what Malcolm does. |
Believe me when I tell you that when you're jamming with a band, somebody is going to f**k up on even a simple 4/4 time signature. It's like some sort of curse. For the most part yes anyone can do it. Consistency however is the hardest thing to master out of any instrument and Malcolm can do it.
Really, whenever yo udo that it's really hard, cause in my band the rythm guitar has been playing for barely a year, and he can keep time very easily. And about the consistency thing, if you're doint the same time signature, and almost the exact same beat everysong for 30 years, then you should be consistent, or not be in the band.
the other thing about ac/dc is, when they aren't live, it kind of sounds dull.... at least it does for me
Really, I think that the guitar comes to life when they play live.

every other band that tours can do the same |

Yet again.. every other band that tours can do the same |

Their live stuff is so much cooler. I have one of their live cds and it's a great concert. By far better than their album stuff. NP: Sin City live |
ac/dc live is really good. I must admit Angus is awesome onstage
Anyone have let there be rock on VHS? haha It's a really good show |

Anyone have let there be rock on VHS? haha It's a really good show
Can you still get it on VHS? Sounds good. I don't actually have any of their albums, just that live one (It's just called AC/DC Live). |

I don't actually have any of their albums, just that live one (It's just called AC/DC Live).
I have that album too. double disc or single? I got double I think the VHS is discontinued but you cam easily find it on ebay (were I got it) Highly reccommended, shows how great their shows were back then. During whole lotta rosie solo (I think) Angus's guitar string breaks so he goes backstage and comes out with a new one and it's out of tune so he's playing the solo while tuning it :amaze: |
AC/DC is a great band if your in the mood to listen to them
There is a new band out called "Big Machine" Brian Johnson writes all the tunes for them. Their singer Kelly Schaefer has been in other popular bands. Here is their website: http://www.bigmachinerocks.com/ |
I got a vinyl copy of Powerage 2 days ago for 4 quid, but when looking at Side One I found it says the first track is Gimme A Bullet (It says this on the little track listing bit in the middle). The sleeve says Rock N' Roll ****ation, and it does start off with ****ation. Is this normal, or I have got a different/old copy?
I have let there be rock on VHS however i did not need Ebay i just needed my dad who gave me his copy that he bought on the day it was released
I borrowed that Video from the library, its not too bad either although the tape wears out eventually and it was showing signs of depletion
AC\DC owns. Great Blues hard rock.
Top of the line hard rock that hasn't since been replicated in the same precise, electrifying way by any band.
Hey has anyone heard anything new about Ac/Dc new album. i heard rumours like a couple of months back but theres been no news of it for ages. Are they still recordin it or wat
I heard something mentioned somewhere back in this thread that Brian Johnson said that AC/DC were recording a new album, and I've also heard it will be a double-album but I haven't heard anything recently. It was rumoured to have been released in February and then May and so on but it still hasn't hit the shelves.
just let me say in advance that a lot of people will probably disagree with me on this but im kind of hypocritical on this so here i go....
AC/DC is a good band in the sense that they play catchy tunes that you can hear for the first time and sing along to or tap your foot to. but.... Thats because there songs a simple but good. AC/DC isnt all that great of musicians they've won people over simplicity and catchyness
It doesn't have to be complicated to be great music. And dont forget they've influenced so many people in doing this simple stuff so you cant say they've done anything wrong. |
Well done for quoting something 94 pages ago. As for the new album, it will not be a double, Johnson said that as a joke because there was so much material going around.
AC/DC is a pioneer of rock and Roll ther best cd is High Way To Hell and Ac/Dc Live
ac/dc live is one of the best cds ever seeing as how ac/dc is one of few bands that actually gets better live
One of the few?
Black Sabbath Led Zeppelin(big difference here) Deep Purple Iron Maiden Pink Floyd Metallica The Who Jimi Hendrix Rainbow KISS plus many more I cant think of at the moment. |
If You Want Blood (You've Got It) Liv rips AC/DC Live to pieces in my opinion. Awesome record, once Angus explodes into Riff Raff you don't really look back.
Ive heard Riff Raff from that album, incredible I tells ya.
personally i think that if you want blood is a brilliant album however i dont like it that much i prefer watching let there be rock cos i think back then with Bon they were more of a show band live.
I have If you Want Blood, and I also have Alive! by KISS, which is another great live album. A lot of people say the greatest live album. But I think If you want Blood is better. You can tell that it wasn't recorded in some arena, so the crowd gets a lot more into it.

Definatly agreed, thats why its my favourite AC/DC album. Ever single track, is a killer. |
