yea i decided he was a worthless idiot too, but couldn't have been bothered to post a reply. he's a craaaaaaazy moron.

BludgeonySteve 08-04-2004 02:48 PM
yep my concert lineup is amazing. and friday i'm gonna see Festival Express. That documentary about The Grateful Dead, Janis Joplin, and the Band on tour in a train in Canada. It should be very good. at least the soundtrack will be lol.
Good god where do you live?

On another note you can't insult the beatles in the classic rock thread. Get out if you're going to be like that. Just another idiot who is closed minded (and types in caps, what an idiot). Because you say the beatles suck, does not mean that lots of other people agree with you. Take your idiot closed-minded attitude to another thread or even forum.

Ephemeral 08-04-2004 02:54 PM

I would definetly have to agree.

Badmoon 08-04-2004 02:56 PM

Nice :). Never heard of chris robinson (sorry :( ) but gov't mule's great.

The new doors? Explain!

Bluesman522 08-04-2004 03:33 PM

Its all the origanol members except for Jim. They got a young guy who looks like him and sounds a bit like them. All they do are the old songs, the magic is gone.

BludgeonySteve 08-04-2004 03:39 PM

But who are they going to get to do that much acid may I ask?

BlackDeathMetalJazz or really ANYTHING else please- 08-04-2004 03:39 PM

I didn't think John Densmore was playing with them. I guess I was wrong the.

Are they called the doors or 21st century doors?

BludgeonySteve 08-04-2004 04:11 PM

Ha, won't be the same though.

BludgeonySteve 08-04-2004 04:22 PM

If you insist ;).

Anyways enough spamzoring.
Ya I don't think the doors would be the same without Morrison. Although they'd still be great to see live.

BludgeonySteve 08-04-2004 06:32 PM

I said it wouldn't be the same. Not that it would be bad. I wanna go see them now.

RockAndRoll 08-04-2004 06:32 PM

I know and I agreed with you. :thumb:
What an idiot. Live concerts are even better than the albums. The whole experience of it is great. Maybe you just can't afford to buy tickets cause you're too stupid to get a job.
Does Trans-Siberian Orchestra count? I saw them twice. And I saw the fake Pink Floyd when it came to Akron. Other than that, nothing.

And you don't need to be so harsh.

Fake pink floyd isn't real pink floyd. Of course the cover band isn't as good as the real thing.

And yes I do need to be harsh.

B0nz0 08-04-2004 09:11 PM

OK I'M HERE TO SETTLE THE DOORS ISSUE.

last summer i saw them live.
and it was amazing. the guy who replaced morrison is nearly, if not as good a singer and does a lot of Morrison's antics as well. And Manzarek and Krieger are of course amazing. It was actually one of my best concerts ever. They played for well over 3 hours, including doing for the first time in history THE ENTIRE LA WOMAN ALBUM. plus they did a ton of their big hits. But the clincher was after the encore was over and the house lights came back on, they came back again. WHICH THE VENUE WAS NOT EXPECTING OR HAPPY ABOUT (hence the house lights being turned on). BUT IT WAS AWESOME.

guitarock156 08-05-2004 12:47 AM

I LIVE for classic rock, thats definitely where its at. it was music, guitars wailing, solos, where there was actually talent. a lot of bands now kind of suck.

B0nz0 08-05-2004 08:58 AM
3 hours!! :amaze:. Why can't other bands do that :upset:
The Allman Bros did 3:45.
Bruce Springsteen did 3:30
Wynton Marsalleis did 3 hours.
hmmmmm i think that's it for 3 hour + concerts that i've been to...

B0nz0 08-05-2004 10:26 AM
Yeah...I think that U2 and Radiohead do quite long ones, but nothing in that league!! Was the standard good the whole way, or did the bands tire?
well each of them the end was the best part. the first half hour of Bruce's set was mediocre, but after that it was amazing. if the first thirty minutes had been as good as the conclusion (the last songs were at least 20 minutes of Meet me at Mary's Place and at least 10 minutes of Rosalita, the first encore was a 10 minute born to run and an 8 minute born in the usa, and the second encore was a long version of 7 nights to rock and 15+ minutes of dancing in the dark) it prob would've been the best concert i've ever been to.

The Allmans put up a great show the whole way thru, never slowing or tiring once. The highlights though were when 80+ year old blues legend Hubert Sumlin got up and jammed with them for about 20 minutes and they jammed with a horn section for a 45 minute version of Southbound. Their encore was 40 minutes of Mountain Jam which was spectacular as well. Probably my favorite concert of all time.

Wynton Marsailles was also great the whole way thru. This was at the St. Louis Jazz festival, so he was supposed to yield the stage to The Aaron Neville Quintet after 2 hours. Fortunately he came back for an hour of encores in which he did excerpts from a new orleans jazz funeral in honor of Ray Charles. That was truly amazing, one of the best live performances i've ever seen...

The Doors played a great show the whole way thru as well. They opened with Roadhouse Blues and then went straight into When the Music's Over. They also played such greats as The Alabama Song, Spanish Caravan (after 6 minutes of flamenco guitar jamming). They did a few obscure songs i didn't know that were also amazing and some other great big hits i can't remember at the moment. The highlight of the first half was a fantastic version of Five to One, which was AMAZING. before hearing that i hadn't even liked the song that much, but after that i fell in love with the song. Then they played the ENTIRE LA Woman album (for the first time ever). Then the left the stage, only to come back 3 minutes later to play Light my Fire. Then they left and the house lights came on. BUT NO1 LEFT! there was cheering literally 5 minutes later. Then they came back out AGAIN and played another 20 minutes with the house lights on!

Truly amazing concerts all of them...

Classic rock is the best kind of rock. All my friends play this loud *** **** and I like it but not as much as Pink Floyd, Zeppelin, Van Halen and all that other stuff.
