LordDargon 05-25-2004 05:12 AM

^ don't know

Hi! 81?! So you were around when Slayer and Metallica were just starting? Holy crap!

ATC 05-25-2004 05:25 AM

its pretty brutal metal.
dead heart in a dead world is supposed to be a masterpiece. you should check it out, lord d. its right up your alley.
start with 'we disintegrate' and 'believe in nothing'

LordDargon 05-25-2004 05:27 AM

The name sounds like gay power metal, but I will look them up :thumb:

manuscriptreplica 05-25-2004 05:30 AM

It sounds like fantasy power metal to me...

Destruct 05-25-2004 05:44 AM

Well, I was born in '81, but I can promise you the moment I got out of that hospital and into the car I was listening to thrash.

My father also played in several thrash bands, so I was surrounded by musicians most of my life, was a heavy influence (literally). :D

LordDargon 05-25-2004 07:45 AM

Aw man, I was hoping you were a veteran thrasher... oh well, welcome to the titans.

Griffin_Page 05-25-2004 12:42 PM

Still, someone from the time with parents into thrash can't not be cool. Welcome to the 'clan'. Thrash is the best form of heavy music in existance man, there's none better.

Girl-Playing-Bass 05-25-2004 01:28 PM

Well said, my man, well said.

As to Caleb: I only heard one Nevermore song, and I liked it, but that's only one song though

Bartender 05-25-2004 01:59 PM

Has anyone here heard of Korrozia Metalla? I've been told their Orden Satany album is really good, but I can't find any of it to download anywhere.

EDIT: My first ever post in here.

LordDargon 05-25-2004 03:58 PM

^ Welcome, and no :(

Ratmevilempire 05-25-2004 06:58 PM

The 86 rules of thrash were good though not as humourous as the other rules but I agreed with more of them.Anyways I'll post my powertabbed song with (no bass, sorry)
as soon as i figure out how to post an attchment.

Ahh, I have one MP3 of Korrozia, it's called 'Thrash around Kremlin' or something... it's ok, but nothing great. The vocals sucked. I'll give you the link for it when I get home, or add me to MSN, or whatever, if you want it:

LordDargon 05-26-2004 10:54 AM

Has anyone seen Metallica perform in "Big Day Out 2004" or "Big Day In 2004" (something like that) ?

I just saw a few vids of it and I have to say, the crowd in Sydney, Australia seemed pretty unresponsive to them, having been to a few Metallica concerts myself, I think it's kind of odd that they failed to get the crowd active (at least the way they hoped).

Has anyone here seen these videos, and what do you think? Maybe I'm just crazy.

Maybe the crowd is lacking, maybe (and I hate to say this) Metallica is.

I've never liked their material post-Justice anyways.

ALSO- Was this a solo venue for Metallica, or were there other bands performing as well? (I can't find info on the show, but it would dissappoint me greatly to see that, if only Metallica fans were present, they weren't getting into the show.)

I was at the Melbourne show and the crowd went off! Not so much on the newer songs, but older Material everyone loved. I don't know about Sydney, I can't speak for them, but I had a good time....that's all that matters.

And yeah, Big Day Out has many bands playing there....it's a one day festival.

manuscriptreplica 05-27-2004 08:10 AM

Yeah, luckily for me, I was still in Metallica fanboy mode when they came to Adelaide... it was a great show. They played my favourite songs, One and Blackened, so I was happy.

This week's hauls:
Mayhem - Live in Leipzig (YESSS!!! FINALLY!!!!) it is incredible.
Opeth - Deliverence (haven't listened to it yet)
Syd Barrett - The Madcap Laughs/Barrett (Heard a few from The Madcap Laughs, it's great)

Does anyone like Symphony X? They aren't thrash, they are Prog metal, but the songs Divine Wings of Tragedy and The Odyssey are amazing. I'm thinking about buying The Odyssey next week.

NP Symphony X - The Odyssey (24 minutes long!)

LordDargon 05-27-2004 09:16 AM

whoa, proggy progin. 24 minutes.

*ponders*

Naw, I won't download it :p

I like the song King of Terrors, but none of the rest of what I heard (admittedly only a few songs) interested me much.

EDIT: By the way, I finally found some Korrozia Metalla on Soulseek, but the guy who has it just has it tagged as "AUDIO TRACK 1, AUDIO TRACK 2" etc, and no album name either, so I have no idea what it is I'm listening to. It's good, though not really thrash, so it must be from a later album..

EDIT 2: the fucker just banned me from downloading from him, halfway through the album.

LordDargon 05-27-2004 09:44 AM

Tell us his username, we'll all sign on to verbally abuse him. :p
