I've never heard them, so I couldn't comment.
I'm working on a mini-FA on Stevie Ray Vaughn. Time to make toast! |
Now that I'm sure you've listened to the song on my profile, I'm going to edit the link out of my post. :p

Guys, I just realized something. I just posted this in Politics.
The United States is a nation that contains a populace whom elects leaders based on criteria such as this: "I don't like the way Kerry talks; he's too intellectual." "For whatever lapses Bush has made in terms of policy, he's strong on morals." "Bush does what he thinks is right, and I admire that even if I don't agree with him." The United States is a nation that commands an unprecedented degree of control over world events. The United States is a nation with easily the capacity to assist the world's needy and to do more than anyone else to assist in the furthering of peace and prosperity in the whole of the rest of the world. Surely it is a sign of a truly ignorant, selfish and spoiled populace that we elect leaders not just of the country but of the world based on the fact that one of the candidates uses too many big words that they're too half-witted to understand, whereas the blunt, bumbling, stubborn and self-righteous man who makes mistakes but insists on his good intentions in making them is the man to be respected and awarded office. I'm truly frightened for the future. I don't even care that the public is stupid enough to elect Bush so much am I terrified that the public can have full knowledge of his criminal use of his office and not lift a finger to stop him. Somehow it's as if having deception exposed reduces our desire to stop being decieved. One must be a good deciever like Nixon to incur the public's wrath. And you know why? Apathy. "Bush should fire Rove! He's clearly behaved criminally?" All it takes is for someone to say "Bush will never fire Rove. He didn't fire Rumsfeld, after all," to make this person say "Yeah, you're right, what's the use?" Sooner or later, the more we let life just go on in the face of such ridiculous corruption means that our life as we know it will be ruined beyond repair. And I'm terrified that we will see some vast repercussions in the three long years that we have Bush for still. |
Yeah, I thought of some of that before. All of my friends supported Bush because they thought Kerry looked like a horse. That pissed me off so much.
My dad hates Bush, but voted for him because he said he would rather vote for Bush because with him he knows the kind of stupid shit that would go down, and for all he knew Kerry could have been worse. |
i do stupid things. its fun sometimes. and amusing to my band members.

Feeling like you have to pick the lesser of two evils in the political process is only a furthering of this kind of damaging apathy. How about trying to elect someone who is actually DECENT? Ehhh, I'm in a ranting mood. Sorry. :) |
Yeah, I agree. I tried to tell my dad to just vote for Kerry, because atleast he had good ideas, but he said he didn't want Kerry. I tried to convince him not to vote, and he said some shit about not wanting to waste his vote.
|
My vote wasn't counted because they didn't register me correctly :(
|
Yeah, that is a bit sad how last election was more of "vote for him, and you still miss" situation.
Even if the president has had some bad times, I still support him and *most* of his decisions. |
I don't support Bush at all. If this was the year of the revolution, I'd join in :D
He has made me heavily consider moving to Europe after school. I don't see many pluses to his presidency. |
I've never seen much of a point in discussing politics over the internet, so I'll willing to accept your opinions without further explanation, if you'd do the same for me. You seem like an intelligent guy, and with that, I'm sure your information is valid. (of course I'd disagree with it, but that automatically comes with the opposite view point)
I've just never seen a point in debating about a topic with such strong opinions. You've got two people that strongly believe what they believe, and in the end, after even hours of debate, will their opinions change? Most likely, no. /incredibly retarded rant. Plus I'm tired and in no mood to discuss anything deeply. :-p unless it's music. |
He has made me heavily consider moving to Europe after school. I don't see many pluses to his presidency.
If he makes adopting illegal for homosexuals and homsexual couples, I think I would leave the country right then and there, just because I wouldn't stand for bullshit like that. I'm not gay, I just have strong support for gay rights. And that's why people at school think I'm a flamer, more or less.
And goddamn anyone who makes a post saying: "I don't think that's the only reason people think you're a flamer" |
That seems fair enough. I love to debate even with no real purpose, just because it makes me think about the opposite side, but rarely does it actually change anything, you are correct.
I can talk about music all day every day :D |

See I disagree with Bush strongly about gay marriage and stem cell research (I don't know his full stance on this, but I'm thinking he's way against it because every child deserves to live? yes? I'm quite sure);
But as far as gay marriage, I am kind of apathetic about it at the moment. Of course they deserve their rights, they are normal people, but even if nothing gets passed in Bush's term, you've got to think it through. It will get passed eventually anyway. All of it. I know this is a very negative/strange attitude towards the subject, but the nation isn't exactly in the perfect stance to convert yet. (in my opinion) I'm thinking of not before, everything gay marriage/adoption will be passed within the 08'ers term. |

Same here. Though I personally don't like the idea, I support legalisation of abortion, and I have several points supporting it. Also, I don't know if Bush is against it, but anyone against the morninf after pill comes off as a moron to me. |
I'm pretty sure Bush is against anything like that except birth control like condoms.
|
Also, I don't know if Bush is against it, but anyone against the morninf after pill comes off as a moron to me.
I've never even thought about that before. That would be horrible and incredibly stupid if they illegalized that. :-/ |
I'm pretty sure Bush is against anything like that except birth control like condoms.
Give him time. Once the Catholic church rules against condoms, so will he.
Give him time. Once the Catholic church rules against condoms, so will he.
The Catholic doesn't condone any form of birth control, and the new pope is unlikely to change that stance. I could see Bush going to that extreme given another term, but not in this one. Of course, who knows, he might get another term. |
My account has been banned for 31 days! I have no exact idea why.
|
Ummm...but who are you?
|
The fact that the chuch doesn't support any birth control is some bullshit. Abortion I can understand, but condoms? Last time I checked, the bible condones sex between married partners with birth control, so thumbs up to Church for going against the law that dictates everything they stand for.
I don't know for a fact that the bible supports this, but 4 years of catholic school lead me to believe so. |
Butcher... I was just having a good time getting ready to post in the Megadeth thread and then BAM!
|
My stance on abortion is this:
If a female friend of mine got pregnany, and asked me for advice, and it was way too late for the Morning After Pill, (not that they would ask me for advice; none of them know I have a serious side and they all think I'd be like 'HAHA JU GOT FUKKED LOL CAN I FUKK') I would not suggest abortion. But, outlawing it seems illogical. If you're outlawing abortion, why not outlaw other birth control? And if you're outlawing the Pill, why not outlaw masturbation, since those sperms released when you climax are killed? Why is Lord Abortion banned?
|
He's not on the banned users list, so he could have just put Banned in his user title as a joke.
|
Why is Lord Abortion banned?
He was banned too? I never see him spam or anything. |
church should stay away from social matters. Not all of us are christians.
|
Reagarding the church allowing sex between married people:
They think sex should only take place to produce a child, even when the two individuals are married. |
