Well, basically the sound was really crappy, I could only hear drums and them screaming over it. I was standing pretty far away, though. It might be a lot better in a club or wherever you go, they have the potential to be great live, I think.

Maybe I saw them on an off day or the sound guy was drunk.

ATM 02-05-2006 10:38 AM

Well, the 930 club is the greatest venue ever, so I bet it would be good.

lilsolsman 02-05-2006 10:48 AM

I'm probably going to see The Books in concert next saturday.

Yeah.
So I went to a wedding today. The wedding party walked in to album leaf, the bride walked in to Sigur Ros's ( ) #3, and everybody left to that one Stars song that everyone knows.

'twas a classy wedding.
New avatar. Herbie Hancock whizzat?!?!

This weekend has been one of the most difficult/strangest weekends of my life, ugh.

On a lighter note, hopefully this weekend I will be adventuring to St. Louis to see Hair Police and smoke under tha' Arch.

I hate how I can never bring myself to do homework on Sunday afternoons.
I was gonna go see the Wu at the 9:30 Club...but it's 50 bux so I don't think I'm gonna make it.
I've seen them twice.

Good times.

I just got Pablo Honey for £5 in fopp. A lot of you people said it was your least favorite Radiohead album in the Radiohead thread a while back, but I have to say I'm liking it so far. I'm really new to liking Radiohead on a serious level and only have The Bends to compare it to, I don't think it's as good, but still excellent. I can see my self turning into a huge Radiohead fan and I can't stop myself.

The NPC 02-05-2006 02:10 PM

Thanks for sharing.

It's nothing like The Bends.

Kid A is brilliant though.
I hate how I can never bring myself to do homework on Sunday afternoons.
It's a vicious cycle really. You figure, who wants to do work on a Sunday afternoon? So you save it for Sunday night, but who feels like doing work on a Sunday night?

Friday and Saturday night was Playfest at my school. Each grade writes and performs their own play. My grade has been the joke of playfest for the last two years - our plays were just that painful to watch. Therefore, my friends and I decided to write it this year for our grade (Juniors).

The Seniors have the star writer and all of the lead theatre kids, so they're basically a shoo-in every year. So, instead of making a theatre lover's play like them, we went all out with the Family Guy-esque humor to cater to the average high school student. Our thinly veiled sexual puns worked great.
Get Kid A.

Best thing they've ever made.
I think I'll probably get Kid A next. I'm trying to avoid OK computer for one reason or another, I'm not a big fan of anything I have heard from it and don't want to dive in and buy the most critically acclaimed album; I'd rather randomly explore them in some unusual order and see what happens.

Ironically, OK Computer is what got me into Radiohead.

I would get it, but it takes a while to get into it.

And I like how I do all my work in school so I don't have homework and can relax on the weekend and play The Warriors for X-Box, which, I must say, kicks butt.
I can't get anyone to go with me. Which is fine with me, but not fine with my parents as I'm pretty sure the boat place isn't near a train station, which means I can't get home.
