i agree with you Mitch. "shred" is indeed used too often.

10guitar players can play at solo at 16th notes at 200bpm and each solo will be different; every gutiar player has its own style. some can write shred-solos which are fantastic, other will write a shred-solo which is boring.

the best example for me is still "the blind leader"-solo by Kalmah... its only fast, one of the fastest solos i've heard, BUT its not only my fav, but even the best solo i've heard so far...

no CoB has great songs. Except in a lot of their songs, they start out cool, but then get kind of lame in some parts.

Considering his opinions regarding various styles of music, I can't see him as anything other than a terribly misguided musician with a poorly constructed view on musicianship. It's sad, really.

Ah, someplace relatively local? I've been planning forever to move a fair distance away from home. I'm very excited about embracing the college atmosphere, dorms and all. It's almost like a chance to start a whole new life of my own. What are you planning to major in/study in tech school?

Local to wear I live? Yeah, fairly. I'm not too sure on what i'm going to do, but it's either going to be one of these:

Music engineer/producer
Computer technician/troubleshooter (most likely what i'll do)
Graphic design (this will probably be a personal venture).
