i wouldve gone but they had an age limit of over 18 *sheds a tear* |
Now that sucks. The show I was at was all-ages. It wasn't at a bar, or club or anything, so I guess it makes sense.

I think I'm going to see Meshuggah in October, and CoB in December.

Speaking of college football, and college sports in general, I am so sick of all the East Coast snobs who trash the Big Ten.
What about east coast snobs that trash football and college sports in general? ;)
Wow, those poor guys. Getting so much money for something they love to do. :p
The sad fact of life is that the athletes are the greediest people on earth. Now I LOVE baseball, but i mean its pathetic that guys who play baseball, who make multiple million dollars per year can and have gone on strike because they felt they are not being paid enough, even though they only need to work for a portion of the year, and their work consists of playing a game that they love to play.
It's true. Because of the amount of really good teams in Europe, European teams aren't able to get as many points for the FIFA ranking. While the only other decent team against whom the US regularly can play against, is Mexico. And the reason Europeans say it as well, is because the US team has been good only very recently. They used to suck and no one denied it, give the Europeans some time to accept that they got better. You would lose against England though.
We did lose against england a couple months ago, but it wasnt nearly as bad of a killing as anyone expected, i believe we only lost by one goal. |

I almost went to that game, but then didn't for some reason.

Well DC United is a good team, wheras in my area we are Metro Stars fans, who are horrid this year. |
I almost went to that game, but then didn't for some reason.
It was really expensive. Like 40 bucks for the cheapest seats, I think. |
The best two places i've been to in America were San Jose and Santa Cruz. New York was abit crazy for my liking, as was LA. I just thought i'd bring that up.
|
That must've been the reason then.

I feel un-American. I've spent 16 years here and I've never been to any major cities like New York, LA, Chicago, what have you. The closest I've ever gotten was a brief pass through Cleveland. I've only been to a few other states besides my own and never out of the country, :(
I need to travel more. |

I was so excited when I heard about that, but Chealsea didnt use all their top players so its not the same.
I feel un-American. Its so many steps below those cities its just sad. Cleveland sucks so much. |

I'll be traveling around the US next summer looking at colleges. It will be both fun and depressing.

I need to travel more.
Either after undergrad or grad school I plan on taking a one year backpacking trip to Europe just to experience new things. I don't think he's referring to size, it's just that Cleveland sucks so much that it's not worth seeing. Go to Chicago, New York, and Boston. |

I guess...but when I passed through I was impressed at how nice it looked. I'd love to go to New York or Boston. |

:upset: I don't really get why big cities are cool. So what if they have 40 story buildings and a million McDonald's. Sure, some of them have oodles of culter(See: New Orleans) but for the most part, they are just giant metropolitan crapholes with lots of bad drivers and construction workers. |
I like NYC because of the atmosphere. Just people are actually walking around the city (unlike Cleveland) and there are great stores and resturants and places to go and see. I love big cities.

You just described the entire state of Michigan. Damn my brother for moving up there, thus forcing my family to go there every chance we get. |
/hates big cities
I live in a small town, and I love it the forest is just down my street :) I love nature |
I love big cities. :p And I live in one. It's great, they have loads of CD stores, loads of public transportation, loads of everything really. The Medieval buildings down town and the lights in the big city just give a great atmosphere.

The East Coast is by far, the best part of the country. Hence, I think I'll move there after college.
I live near LA, and I don't like the people so much. I mean there are so many chill people here, but there are so many people made of plastic, it's just unbelievable. That's what Southern California is all about: the looks. Why do you think people call it La La Land? Because there are people who think they are celebrities, and their lifes revolve around looking trendy and up-to-date. I'm not saying there aren't a lot of people back East like that, but I think it prevails here more than anywhere else. I also just like New York more than LA. I don't care about the weather. I've been there in late July, and I've been there in late December. Speaking of that, people here are so sensitive to any weather other than a cloudless, perfect day outside. If it's 60 degrees, people act like it's freezing. I also have tons of family in New York, and North New Jersey, and I have a few cousins in Boston. So I won't totally be alone. But I would be leaving a lot of family here. I've been there plenty of times, so I know the city pretty well. I just feel like if I don't get there after college, I won't feel complete. |
Yeah, Al, we beat the Americans, because they don't have any cool medieval things.

:high fives fellow So Cal'er: Yeah, living near LA blows because there's so many artificial people and media whores and stuff like that. Where I live, it's a quiet suburb type-ish thing crammed between cities. If I can picture my mental map of Cypress correctly, Kurtz lives in around the same type of area. Kurtz, do you live by Oxford btw? |

Rad, one of my really good friends lives on Oxford Drive, and my drummer lives fairly close, I forgot the street though. Edit: The street's Ethel or something around those lines. |

Orange Avenue? I practically live on Ball and Moody. |

That's northern Belgium isn't it?
Sometimes it really sucks to be American. Our country has no historical value compared to Europe. |
