UGGHH!!...I'm PISSED!!!

As some of you know, i was bidding on a Paiste 2oo2 Crash on Ebay...

When getting stuff on ebay, my dad bids for me and i pay him back. So i got him to put an automatic bid of $125...all was well...then i got outbid with 119...i call my dad...ask him whats up and he says he only put 116!!!

I GOT OUTBID BECAUSE HE'S AN ASSHOLE!!!...I COULD HAVE HAD IT!...I HATE HIM!

Janeway 03-17-2006 02:26 PM

Ugh.
I feel like crap.
I didn't get in trouble at all today, nobody really talked to me much, and I got to spend 40 minutes with my girlfriend looking up dirty things on Wikipedia during history, but I still feel like crap.
My mom is mad at me for my grades, my dad is just...an idiot, and my sister is going to be as annoying as all hell when she gets home. The musical is tonight, and we're going to get stuck sitting crammed in the tiny aud watching a bunch of white kids flailing around like asians.

Combi Christ.

RushHourSoul 03-17-2006 02:42 PM

Luckily i'm off down the pub in 10 minutes. Woo. Thankgod

Janeway 03-17-2006 03:41 PM

;.;
Oh my god.
I just saw a woman stepping on a kitten with high heels.
It was this..like...long drawn out porn-like video of an asian whore stepping on a poor little kitten. It's disgusting.
These people should be stripped naked, clamped to a barbed fence from their genetalia, and pierced with thick, rusted hooks with freshly cut slabs of meat hanging from them so that a troop of poor starved rottweilers can be fed.
But we shouldn't let the dogs kill them totally.
Just mame them and make them totally aware of the pain. Then we'll throw them inside some industrial sized washing machines filled with boiling water so they die a pathetic, submissive, and all around horrible death.
Gah.

I love animals.

White 03-17-2006 04:04 PM

Pepsi. Every single day, you ahfve some new story, and half the time its you getting in trouble and it not being your fault lol, I noticed that today haha

Janeway 03-17-2006 04:09 PM

Shhh...I don't have a blog.
I should get one.
BUT GOD!
The stupid chink kitten killer. It's bugging me.
;.;
I'd post the video but it's on a site with a big ol' oral ad at the top.

fishbulb' 03-17-2006 04:40 PM

Mmmm, box social.

Replying to drum phil's idea on having a shindig or a box social.

The Ska Man 03-17-2006 04:56 PM

Box socials RULE!

fishbulb' 03-17-2006 04:59 PM

Drum Phil 03-17-2006 06:05 PM

PremierManiac 03-17-2006 06:56 PM

I might be getting some Zildjian K hi-hats from a friend for $100, if he can't sell them to someone else for a fair price.

Win A Rabbit 03-17-2006 07:24 PM

i'm back from my band festival. it went great. we had to make a huge dynamics adjustment for percussion on the fly, due to a completely different room acoustically, and due to a lack of percussion in the practice room. for the first song, (which we all had memorized), we were just watching him to see if we should play louder or quieter at each dynamic shift.

the whole thing went flawlessly.

then the rest of the band got adjudicated (?) for half an hour, at which i just did snare rolls the whole time while a professional taught them breathing techniques and "theory" on balance and such.

they had a k constantinople 18" crash as the suspended cymbal, oh my god did it sound amazing. and for the crash cymbals, i had 2 16" a fast crashes. amazing. if it wasn't for a hundred people sitting in the audience, i would have grabbed the cymbals and ran.

White 03-17-2006 07:27 PM

 Dan Brown Is Being sued for plagarism?????? Damn this sucks, he was a very inspiring guy for me, I gotta do something about this.

EDIT: For those of you who don't know who Dan Brown is he is the author of books such as, The Da Vinci Code,Digital Fortress, And Angles And Demons. So far they have all been excellent books. and to Guy who posted above me. I apologize for totally cutting off your post lol.

DuckinFutch8 03-17-2006 08:11 PM

The books aren't that great, they're pretty shoddily written, although they are exciting, I'll give you that...

And yea, it kind of makes sense. He took a lot of his ideas from the people suing him.

anyone here have positive/negative feedback on gretsch catalina club drums?

i've never played any myself, but i listened to one of the employees playing one a little while ago, and loved the sound. i know that it's not an amazing kit, but i don't really want to spend a whole lot on drums at the moment. and i loved the way it sounded, so i'll definately try it out myself next time i'm there.

just want to know if there's anything to be aware of? thanks.

fishbulb' 03-17-2006 09:41 PM

Why the hell does this thread have so many posts on the week days, but on weekends nobody is posting.

And a lot of people love those drums. the gretsch catalinas.

People do things on the weekend. On weekdays they either go on at school/work or don't do anything after school/work.

fishbulb' 03-17-2006 11:31 PM

Yeah...

so two or three weeks ago, i got up at like 3 in the morning and wanted some cereal. i pour the last bit of cereal into the bowl, and take apart the box. i throw it in the garbage, like a nice person. after this, i venture to one of the two fridges to get some milk. open it. nope, no milk. i venture over to the other fridge. no milk. cream, though. nah. then it hits me. ice cream. yes, i had neopolitan ice cream with captain crunch cereal, and it was amazing. i even threw some irish toffee cream in there to see what it would taste like. amazing.

so today i went to have some cereal and ice cream. exact same scenario. last bit of cereal, rip up the box. as i'm going to the fridge, all i can think of is that there's going to be no ice cream. and of course, i'm right. so i go to the fridge, as my last resort. no milk either. but what's this? irish toffee cream??? oh yes.

eww, milk...

ice cream on the other hand.....

so today I helped a couple friends move into a new place. 10 freaking hours later, I'm finally home. holy crap this guy has wayyyyyy too much crap...

Win A Rabbit 03-17-2006 11:42 PM

when we moved, i got to ride in the back of the moving truck, which, oddly enough, was a milk truck that my dad borrowed. it was alot of fun.

you're making me crave cereal...and ice cream...and soy milk.

and f*cking cookies.

Win A Rabbit 03-17-2006 11:53 PM

soy milk? gross.

though i do have to give them credit for calling it 'silk'. i saw that in the grocery store and was quite impressed.

I used to think it was gross too. an ex of mine who worked at starbucks always tried to put soy in the crap she got me for free and I'd freak out. but now I think milk is one of the nastiest things, ever. weird how that works...
sure, I miss it....but I think it's the love for it I miss more than anything (I used to down a full quart when I'd skate bunches of years ago).

I didn't think these few questions deserved their own thread so I am going to post them here.

Is the Mapex Pro M a professional level kit?
Is the Chad smith Sig snare a professional snare or just an intermediate snare (if there is such a thing)?

aznriceball 03-18-2006 01:14 AM

-all the local stores including Boogies (where i work) market that as a professional level kit. kits like that an 3005/paragon are as high end as you can get before you cross into High End Pro kits like the Saturn

-CS is a signature snare, also marketed as a higher end drum. Basically most signature series in just about any product can be considered high end.

Double Bass Jim 03-18-2006 01:47 AM

Great drum too

1. no...intermediate...but very good...

2. yes...pro...

Cocaberry 03-18-2006 02:29 AM

Its probably really pretty high intermediate then if some stores market it as pro.

Would Tama Starclassic Maple be worth the extra $1000 over getting a Mapex Pro M? SC would probably sound better but you could atleast do a show with a Pro M right?
