Yeah, I just heard about them a couple months ago, but I listened to Acid Bath a loooonnnngggg time ago (like since 95 I think). Then I was a big AoO fan too. Deadboy is coming to Austin for South by Southwest, but I can't go to that....luckily they're coming back in April and hopefully I'll be able to catch that show.

The guitar is an Agile AL-2000
http://www.rondomusic.net/al20003ts.html
We just wanted a cheapy one to start with, if either myself or my wife sticks with it we're going to upgrade, but it came highly recommended from the guitar forum.
Not sure what the amp is. I haven't technically bought it yet (I just have the money reserved for it) One of my friends is going to sell me it, but he wants to figure out a fair price for it.

Does he really??? Wow, that's cool. No problem man. So how are these guitars really? I know next to nothing about guitars, but the guitar forum raves about them (not necessarily the 2000's, but the higher up models).

GhostGrooveMike 03-15-2006 09:50 PM

Awesome. Well, if either myself or my wife stick with guitar and decide we need an upgrade we'll probably give him some more business :thumb:

Win A Rabbit 03-15-2006 11:06 PM

i'm on a "burn cd's for my friend to hopefully get him listening to better music" spree. i'm now burning him 'we are the romans', a masterpiece by one of my favorite bands to have existed. botch.

i just go to his house or listen to what he's listening to on his mp3 player, then ask if he's heard _____ band, and if not, rush home and burn him a cd. of course, i don't expect him to instantly fall in love with it, but hopefully it grows on him in time.

and as of tuesday, i've decided i'm going to teach myself how to write with my right hand. it's one of those things i've been wanting to do for a while, and lately i've been actually concentrating on it. today i wrote lines of all the capital letters, lower-case letters, copying paragraphs out of books, "the quick brown fox jumps over the lazy dog", etc. the improvement i've made in 2 days actualy shocked me. it's a really weird thing.

gastery6 03-15-2006 11:08 PM

Dont force to much stuff on them, they will get sick of it and then not give it a try. Small doses is what it takes.

rockindrummer 03-15-2006 11:08 PM

^ What kind of music does your friend listen too?

Win A Rabbit 03-15-2006 11:16 PM

he asks me all the time about "good bands" and such, since he still doesn't know what emo music is or anything, so he'll usually ask me for suggestions. but every once in a while i'll just hear him listening to hawthorne heights or something and i'll say "here's some gatsby's american dream. enjoy."

he listens to stuff like hawthorne heights and all american rejects (generic pop bands, all the stuff labeled "emo" by people who like to write <3) to generic "metalcore" i guess, like it dies today. basically it's the list of bands you'll find on any 13-17 year old kid's myspace.

gastery6 03-15-2006 11:18 PM

Basically whats "In" then

Seafroggys 03-15-2006 11:30 PM

agh, tell him to listen to Emerson Lake and Palmer.

Double Bass Jim 03-15-2006 11:34 PM

Everyone should

Win A Rabbit 03-15-2006 11:44 PM

oh man, i'm in the process of making one of the most f'ucked up techno songs i've ever heard. too much animal collective and not enough sleep. i'll upload it when i finish it.

and here it is... http://www.soundclick.com/bands/pagemusic.cfm?bandID=506526

enjoy. it was just a bunch of random stuff put overtop of a little trance-y thing i had in my head all day. plus i've been experimenting with fruity loops lately, which always turns up some neat results.

Seafroggys 03-16-2006 01:02 AM

i came up with a cool riff today in school

half notes at about 140 bpm

C E G# C#

either chords or single notes....i'm trying to figure out something to add to it though

rockindrummer 03-16-2006 01:08 AM

That's pretty sweet sic. Quite intense.

You should take it.. look at my avatar. Someone like you, I'd not even blink at chucking you into an oven. You serve no useful point to humanity.. all you ever do on here is complain. I haven't seen any helpful posts.. and you're inabbility to carry on intelligent thought processes is truly a disgrace to humanity.

For that.. I would say it's time for the oven.

HIENZ!!! FIRE UP THE GRILL!!
lol all i ever do to YOU is complain. cause you piss me off.

almost all my other posts are either helpful or just chit chatting. ive yet to see a reason to your posts. the majority of them anyway. in your last ten posts. how many of them helped anyone?

styler 03-16-2006 04:43 AM
You're just retarded. If you knew anything about the simpsons, you would know that this is when Bart called Homer fishbulb. after the end of the movie, the producers of it have logos that are a fish and a bulb, then they combine to make homer's face. I didn't put it up just to be an asian soap detergent.

And on a better note: I'm convinced that home is one of dream theater's best songs.

And i smoked my hookah today. I got pineapple, pretty good, strong too.
but thats not really the point is it? the logo itself was a brand of soap detergent. and i highly doubt that your a bottle of soap detergent. correct me if im wrong. please dear god correct me if im wrong?

Odery seems to enjoy taking their sweet time to reply to their online quote system :/

I am seriously considering working up enough cash to cover the cost for a set of them and selling my DWs to do so. I would seriously say Odery is one of the top custom companies right now.

Jezen 03-16-2006 06:03 AM

Odery has always been top..

Who plays Odery? Airto Moreira.

When am I seeing Airto? Tomorrow.

mysticalyeti 03-16-2006 06:06 AM

Still, they don't seem to get as much recognition among the masses as they should.

Aaron 03-16-2006 06:07 AM

Brady gets my vote for top o top. and before you guys say "But the cost the same as houses".. you got nothin on us aussies.

mysticalyeti 03-16-2006 06:09 AM

From the looks of it, an Odery with non-chrome hardware and wood hoops isn't exactly going to be cheap either >_>
