I'm not really considering it as a major or anything, but I gotta think of something to do if I don't get into the Industrial Design department, and language has always been fun/cool for me.

it depends, a linguistics degree is a good basis for any job dealing with language (social work, etc)

plus you can get a job doing field research, investigating languages, etc
