The first song on Winterkalte is his best song I think, maybe I just think that because I like that album more though

Listening to [I]Nacht[/I] right now, bleakest **** ever. More so than his other releases. Every time I hear that growling right before the guitars kick in on Nacht I I get chills.

EDIT: yeah Nate that song is very good, too.

Agreed, [I]Nacht[/I] is mad long, too but I feel like it flows better and holds my attention better.

EDIT: the wind samples are croosh, noob.

they're okay but they definitely drag on far too long

and nacht is pretty lengthy but it's not as long as winterkaelte

[I]Winterkalte[/I] is only like 20 minutes longer than [I]Nacht[/I].

20 minutes is a quarter of the total space a standard CD can hold, so it makes a big difference

I have a copy of As a Song in the Harvest of Grief as well and apparently it's very good too. I haven't listened to it yet, though.

oi Haz if youre still looking for Symphonic BM, try Ceremonial Castings... it kind of reminds me of the tiny bit of Dimmu Borgir that i've heard except it's better

Keys and voiolins and whatever can work if it's used sparingly and tastefully, but when you over do it, polish it to hell, and add some extra gay to it you get Dimmu Borgir.

cellos are about 10 times greater. really. violins on a whole are just too damn squeaky, cello has a deeper, more "full" sound to it
