I need to get cunning stunts. I hear about it all the time and I've still never seen it
Yeah, same.. I don't have any money though.

PepsiMetal 11-19-2005 12:40 AM

I just listened to couple st anger tracks in my car (dirty window, sweet amber, frantic, my world, etc..) and those drums sound pretty damn good. When I listened to them at home they sounded annoying, but in a car, somehow it was alot better.
I need to get cunning stunts. I hear about it all the time and I've still never seen it
its a quite lovely show. kirk kinda gets off timing on the 'one' solo though. kinda bugs me

The_Riddler 11-19-2005 02:10 AM
Anyway, the only 2 metallica cds I don't have is load and re-load. Which one should I get. I mainly listen to pre-black album (inluding the black album) and a few songs from Saint Anger. Which one is the heavier cd?
That is quite hard to say. They both have their strong points and weak points.

Load
-Until it Sleep
-Hero of the Day
-The House that Jack Built
-Bleeding Me
-The Outlaw Torn

Re-load
-Fuel
-Memory Remains
-Unforgiven II
-Carpe Diem Baby
-Prince Charming
-Fixxxer

The first one I bought of them both was Re-load, then again that was the second Metallica album I had ever bought, and I enjoyed it. It took me awhile to get into though. I would say get Re-load first, more commercially better catchy songs. Load is good also, but Reload in my opinion is better.

nothingelsematters 11-19-2005 03:07 AM

i would recommend re-load as well. Memory remains and unforgiven 2 are wikid!!!1

Doctor Night 11-19-2005 03:50 AM

Isn't Fuel supposed to be incredible?

Apocalyptic Raids 11-19-2005 05:49 AM

It's ok. One of the better Load-era songs.

BrownSugar 11-19-2005 05:53 AM

Hey I've been away fro here for quite a while, and I'm not one to read over 1000 pages. But has there been any word of a new album at all?

Nope, no news. Should be recording it soon.

timmySmi 11-19-2005 08:14 AM

I think Load And Reload are both great albums, Like any Album it has it's strong and weak points but this ain't any band it just so happens to be the biggest metal band on the planet! I think the jump to the more Hard Rock sound was more of a maturity Musically not selling out. I had a funny exprience last night me and a few friends were out on the drink we came Into a Bar which played just alternative music which is quite rare In England because most of the population In this country when they go out Clubbing like to listen to Cheesy pop music! You'd never catch a DJ playing Metal. But anyway I asked the DJ If there was any chance of getting some Metallica on so we could dance around and get some cocktails in. So he was like yeah cool the nexted song, So when the nexted Song came on I was like hey this ain't Metallica until Hetfields singing kicked In I realised it was Ain't My Bitch so out of all the Metallica songs he could of chose he picked that. So after the song I asked him why did he choose that song? and he said F@ck you! that songs rocking! I don't now why but I had the song In my had all night so when I got home I put it on and just listened to it and I was like yeah its actaully and damn good song.

I guess I'll get Re-Load, unless I have enough money for both. Thanks for the help.

fatbandit 11-19-2005 12:44 PM

I consider them one kind of double album really :/

I reckon about half the songs on each are good, and should have been condensed to make the 'real' Load.

I'd say some of my favourites are on Load though, not ReLoad, though I'm not a 2x4 or Ain't My Bitch fan. I love me some Hero Of The Day, King Nothing, Until It Sleeps, House That Jack Built, and Bleeding Me.

And no, Fuel is not incredible. Its sucky.

Yea that's how I feel about them. My favorite is Bleeding Me.

Hero of the day, Until It Sleeps, and Bleeding me are all good songs. Come to think of it, I may actually have load recorded to a cassette somewhere.

I'll have to give it another listen.

fatbandit 11-19-2005 01:33 PM

And Cunning Stunts ain't too great. Worth a watch, with the bouns features, etc. But its not a patch on Live Sh!t or S&M, especially when it comes down to spending your hard earned cash on it.

Britton 11-19-2005 01:36 PM

I had the chance to buy binge and purge on VHS for ten bucks. But it was in
bad condition. and I was gonna have to borrow the money...so maybe another time

fatbandit 11-19-2005 01:47 PM

Aye, Binge and Purge is Pre Load, so there's a higher proportion of good songs IMO. The song choices on Cunning Stunts ain't too hot IMO.

Doctor Night 11-19-2005 04:28 PM

I'm pissed off, my CD shop never has any copies of 'Kill 'Em All'. It has every other Metallica album and the owner is a complete Metallica fanboy.

I bought 'Load' today, It's very good.

Britton 11-19-2005 04:48 PM

I'm glad you like it. It's not my fav but it's still better then most albums from that era

metalmilitia101 11-19-2005 06:27 PM

i like load..i like reload..i like st anger..i like freakin everything lol. i can't wait for the new album, i hope i like it too.

JonnyboyM151 11-19-2005 09:19 PM

I'm disappointed with Metallica. IMO they don't have it in them anymore. Killem all and RtL were kick-face but load made me want to puke on babies

heavy metal kid 11-19-2005 09:20 PM

I didn't know there was an uncensored version of the WITJ video, i just saw it. It has more of than the original video.

I had never seen it before. That's one of my favorite songs

Joe 11-19-2005 10:35 PM

Haven't been on MX in awhile...

Has anyone got the new stuff from the vault? It's pretty cool.

Puke on babies? I think even Bob Rock would be disappointed with you. Load wasn't the best, but after that came 3 pretty good albums

that.

Yea I really like the new stuff in the vault

Joe 11-19-2005 10:39 PM

The 83 concert was awesome.
UPDATE 11/15/05: As invited guests of the Rolling Stones, we will be respecting their wishes to not record the two shows performed with them in San Francisco on November 13 and 15, 2005, and therefore those shows will not be available for download.
NO!!!

PepsiMetal 11-19-2005 10:53 PM

Wow that's pretty gay. There has to be someone who recorded the show though.

metalmilitia101 11-19-2005 11:18 PM

yeah someone has gotta bootleg it, doesnt ever not happen nowadays

heavy metal kid 11-19-2005 11:21 PM

That sucks, i wanted to hear the first half of Orion.

metalmilitia101 11-19-2005 11:22 PM

yeah, i would love to hear orion too...one of my favorite songs

heavy metal kid 11-19-2005 11:29 PM
yeah, i would love to hear orion too...one of my favorite songs
Sometimes i wish they play these songs more:

My Friend of Misery
The Unforgiven (both parts)
Thorn Within
To Live is to Die
Orion
Mercyful Fate, Astronomy, Sabbra Cadabra
Trapped Under Ice
Escape
The Unnamed Feeling(the only song in SA that they didn't play live, and my fav. on that cd)

Joe 11-19-2005 11:31 PM

They do play parts of TLITD. If I could pick the setlist I'd have that, escape, and The Unforgiven I and II on there.

And yes, I hope there's a bootleg somewhere
