Endless Obsession 07-24-2005 08:15 PM
I've been on a massive Meshuggah binge lately.
I just got into them. Is "I" worth it. Isnt it like one song?

Dr. Jake Destructo 07-24-2005 08:22 PM

Well, it is an EP, so you could probably find it for 7 bucks. I downloaded it, and I'd say that it is one, if not the most amazing metal song I've heard. Worth seven bucks? Yes.

NP: Rage Against the Machine- Vietnow

"I'm a truth addict, oh shi' I got a headrush!"

Rothmans 07-24-2005 08:30 PM

I got I for 14 euros.

Stupid overpriced Ireland :upset:

Awesome song. I used to be obsessed with RATM. :thumb:

Could someone give my Wuthering Heights spotlight a friendly bump? I still have a hard time keeping those things from sinking just outside the harbor.

Endless Obsession 07-24-2005 09:11 PM

How do EP and LP and all those differ from eachother?

Dr. Jake Destructo 07-24-2005 09:14 PM

EP- Extended Play- More like a demo, typically fewer songs, in the 30 minute range
LP- Long Play- Full album, obviously usually longer than an EP.

There are no definite borderlines, but that's the basic gist of them.

@Bart below-What was that aimed at?

Bartender 07-24-2005 09:15 PM

An LP is a long-player, or a full length album, while an EP is a release of (usually) four or five songs (or at least less than a full album in minutes, though that's not always the case), often released to fill the gap in between LP releases, though also released for no particular reason like that. EP stands for extended play.

EDIT: Yeah.

Why?

Endless Obsession 07-24-2005 09:21 PM
Why?
I always heard people talking about them, never knew exactly what they were.

@Bart below-What was that aimed at?
It was aimed at his original question. I was just too slow.

This actually reminds me of something I read recently, where someone said that he felt the art of the EP was lost, or in the process of being lost, at least. I disagreed; I really like EPs whne they're done right, and on reading thing I checked my collection and found I own a fair few, and a lot of them are from within the last five years, for example. No real point in saying this, but I thought I would anyway.

Wow, she will will most definitely be hit with rocks as soon as she takes the stage.

Kind of a weird choice, but okay. Not like I can afford to go to Ozzfest anyway.

The response of fans though is bullshit. These people need to get the hell over themselves. If I ever do make it to Ozzfest and see one of these little pukes booing or throwing things at a band they don't think is metal enough (or whatever their logic is), their ass is going to become very intimate with the treads in my boots.

ATM 07-24-2005 09:58 PM

Watch her get on stage in full corpse paint and let out this blood curdling scream.

Illmatic 07-25-2005 12:01 AM

Just got back from seeing The Wedding Crashers with my cousin and a couple of his friends. Good flick, even better than I expected it to be.

ATM 07-25-2005 12:19 AM

I thought it was pretty funny, but not as good as it was hyped up to be.

Illmatic 07-25-2005 12:20 AM

Really? I liked it a lot. I wasn't too fond of it from the ads but I liked the idea, and it turned out to be real good.

ATM 07-25-2005 12:22 AM

I was reading about it on MX before I went, and people were like:

THIS IS THE BEST MOVIE EVER!

Permanent Solution 07-25-2005 12:27 AM

I thought it was extremely funny, and that's coming from me. Very solid movie.

ATM 07-25-2005 12:29 AM

That Lorax needs to shave.

Illmatic 07-25-2005 12:30 AM

Even Vince liked it!

There you go, Chris.

I've been on sabbatical from the internet, but I've had my phone on...ever since my gf came back to the States on the 21st I've been talking to her a lot /pathetic
That Lorax needs to shave.
I thought you meant actually me, and I was like...how did he know? :embarassed:

Hah, I thought that'd be the reaction. Though lately i've been pretty up and happy. :)

Luckily my girlfriend(?), girl I'm dating, likes AIM and not the phone so much :D

ATM 07-25-2005 12:39 AM

My girlfriend hates talking on AIM, but loves the phone :-/

I do like talking to her, I just don't like being on the phone.

Illmatic 07-25-2005 12:41 AM

If I'm doing other stuff I prefer to IM her, but if I've got downtime I prefer talking to her on the phone. She prefers the phone, but likes IMing when she's trying to do homework.

Also, has anyone seen that new Nike ad? I don't really care much for commercials, but their new one is great, the one with 6-year-old Tiger Woods digitally mapped onto the professional golf course. Just a phenomonal ad. The only one that actually had some kind of effect on me.

ATM 07-25-2005 12:42 AM

I prefer talking in person :)

I got to see her for a little while tonight, it was nice.

Ray,

freestyle battle tonight?
I like p0rn but something about hentai is very, very, very wrong. So yes I had to shower
You think thats wrong? my mother found some yaoi on my 15 year old sisters hard drive at one point.

If you dont know what that is, then google it, but dont say i didnt warn you that it takes hentai to an even more messed up level.
Those pants are a little too tight, Joe.
Compared to how tight a lot of guys wear their pants now, those are like MC hammer pants.

Scared of what?

Do keep in mind that I could mop the floor with you even now, but I'm too worn out.

Also, it was 104 degrees today. Bears repeating, Glass-half-full, that's "Oppressive". Glass-half-empty, that's "The closest I'll get to Hell"

Permanent Solution 07-25-2005 12:52 AM

Haha. I wanna see this freestyling.

I prefer in person too with gfs.
