Oh, thanks for that
See you got the link :thumb: And I love blues. |
I really like the blues.
|
Huge fan of the blues. I find it so easy to write/play on guitar, it just seems to come naturally from inside of you...no matter what kind of song I always try to write, people always tell me it's too bluesy. It's great to listen to as well.
|
I like blues rock a bit more than I like straight blues, honestly.
|
Clapton
Claptons prime was with the bluesbreakers, just to let u all know

Back that statement up and I'll believe it. Actually I problably won't I'll always favor his Derek and the Dominos work because of Duane and Bobby, and "Layla." "Keep on Growing" is my favorite song on the album though. The Layla Sessions Jams are awesome too. |
Cant really back it up, just me and a lot of the lads think it was his best period, showed the true eric clapton, his cream years were also amazing, but what do i know, im just a guy who plays guitar
|
I prefer the blues-influenced rock moreso than 'blues rock' (think Cream and such). But I love playing blues stuff.

I think Clapton's prime was Cream's last three albums. That's just me, though. |

So Diserali Gears, Wheels of Fire and Goodbye or what? I dont understand? |
So would any of you recommend Blues Breakers with Eric Clapton?
|

As opposed to their first three? |
I just bought: Well Respected Kinks for $7.99(which is a damn good price at the mall)

I don't like Fresh Cream that much, I just think most of it sounds too poppy and too typical of the British invasion era. Their other albums are complete genius, though. |

I love fresh Cream. Raw blues rock pretty much to me. Maybe somewhat typical of the British invasion, but not very many people were doing what Cream was doing in 1966. |

So are we counting Goodbye as an album? |
Goodbye was severly lacking.
|
There's nothing wrong with British Invasion music. Therefore, nothing wrong with Fresh Cream.
|
Clapton didn't really get awesome at guitar until the mid 70s. His stuff was Cream and The Yardbirds was good but not great. His solo carreer definitly had the best guitar playing. Even Layla and some Cream songs that he played live when he went solo improved and he made them better.

Maybe so, but his playing was still innovative in the 60's. |
For the 60s he was godly :)

Maybe techincally speaking he reached his peak after the 60's, but I don't think his music was ever any better than it was from 65-71. |
I only meant his guitar playing. Without Jack Bruce his music declined (it still stayed good!)

That's a funny way of looking at it but it's true. |

Ok, then you are probably correct. Without Jack Bruce any guitarist's music would decline. |
Moving slow tonight.
I loved Clapton in Cream. He was so influential then. |

I was on JPJ's website and it says that he will be at this year's Grammy Awards because Zeppelin is recieving a lifetime achievement award. It'd be cool if he performed, but there's no chance :(
