The Faceless are horrible.

The Faceless aren't horrible. Akeldama was awesome. The technical ability of each member greatly surpasses most bands of the genre. Aside from say, Animosity.

I just heard a track off of the All Shall Perish album 'The Price fo Existence' that I liked, so I guess mark them down on the decent deathcore list.

I still haven't gotten into ASP, are the songs on myspace a good representation of their sound? Because if not I'll jus d/l TPOE.

Also The Faceless is pretty much awesome, we've been over this. Every song has its own feel, Akeldama is one of my favorite albums because its a perfect mix of brutality, catchy riffs and breakdowns, amazing vocals, and grooviness. I <3 groove, which is why BOO and VoM are similar, but watered down in comparison.

I figure I'll ask for your thread's input on this.

Deathcore: does it belong in the stickied "Essential Albums" project R&M is doing? That is, would more than one person in this thread contribute to the project, and would there be ten representative albums of the deathcore genre? More people seem to be advocating its removal rather than it belonging in the thread, so if someone wants to drop a line or two in the stickied thread and advocate for it, that would be cool. Cheers.

Deathcore isn't worth tossing in, no. Albums can be mostly put into death metal or metalcore, it's not strong enough to include.

Plus there isn't even 10 good deathcore albums anyways.

you should probably check out bands that don't suck, you know, like the red chord, velvet dawn, rifles at recess, veil of maya, the red shore, etc.

Winds Of Plague are meh.

Winds of Plague has 1 or 2 good songs..

I think The Red Chord and Veil Of Maya both suck balls. And i doubt i'll even check out the other bands you mentioned because i dont even like this genre other than the 2 bands i said.

I'll give em another listen for said songs, we'll see.

The Red Chord is amazing, they are better than both of the bands you mentioned by like leaps and bounds. Check out a different album than the one you have, all 3 are different.

If it ends up as being actual deathcore (Velvet Dawn, Rifles At Recess, The Red Shore, etc.) it's pretty different from either metalcore or death metal.

we can have a deathcore list it's just most of the general R&M base doesn't like deathcore

because the general r&m base is much cooler than everyone who posts in this thread except for me because i am awesome
