bassist-bmxer 08-13-2004 05:31 AM

yeah that is a nice bass if you put your hand over the headstock

AfroMan 08-13-2004 05:39 AM
yeah that is a nice bass if you put your hand over the headstock

That bass is perfect.

I always loved the sound of G&L's but every bass I saw was always a strange colour with a massive black bridge.

When I found this and the ASAT bass I almost collapsed. Man, it's so sexy and it sounds even better than it looks. This is defintley going to be my next bass.

*Drools*

bassist-bmxer 08-13-2004 05:46 AM

i just think the headstock kinda spoils it, quite ugly.

^^ 123 :p

So I had my 2nd gig last night at ABC in harrisburg again. We ended up missing the sign in sheet right away so we didn't get to play until 11, but we saw most of the bands playing. All of the bands except 1 had extremly talents bassists. Mostly due to the fact that the one bassist played in 3 bands :D The band right before us was actually pretty bad, the guitarist carried the whole band pretty much. It was definatly a big morale boost for us, after following all the good acts and seeing that one. Not trying to be a jerk or anything, but you can't really luck out better when you have like 5 bands before you who were good and then 1 crappy one right before your set :D

The show we put on was much better then the last one. I messed up one of the songs pretty badly but no one heard it :D I also starting improv'ing some riffs in some of the songs....but no one heard it :upset: However, the good thing was that I had loosened up a bit since the last show so I had much better stage presence then last time, got some compliments from our female friends :naughty:

All in all, a good night :thumb:

AfroMan 08-13-2004 10:01 AM

^^^

What kind of band are you in?

Espbassor 08-13-2004 10:05 AM

^^ It's kind of hard to say. We play some screamo stuff, some punkish stuff, some metalish stuff..but we're also working on some other songs in completly different genres, so we pretty much play anything we want. I've only been in the band for a few weeks so I'm still getting used to this whole "band" thing

sanray 08-13-2004 10:46 AM

mad chimp 08-13-2004 11:20 AM

i was "forced" to play guitar i had always wanted to play bass from the time i heard tommy by The Who i was bout 9 then played guitar for 3-4 years then i finaly got my hands on a bass and havent been able to stop from that moment!

mad chimp 08-13-2004 11:21 AM

you can get small uprights they dont come in 1 size fits all. most common i would say is the 3/4

Bass+Fingers+Amp=Groove 08-13-2004 11:25 AM

The Children are alright. great bass lines.

Bass+Fingers+Amp=Groove 08-13-2004 11:29 AM

you can get 1/4 uprights as well....

AfroMan 08-13-2004 11:32 AM
you can get 1/4 uprights as well....
mad chimp 08-13-2004 11:35 AM

you get 1/16th? or you messing with me?

Bass+Fingers+Amp=Groove 08-13-2004 11:43 AM

a 1/16 would be a violin.

AfroMan 08-13-2004 11:44 AM

This is a 1/16..............I think

LightRaven 08-13-2004 11:49 AM
lol LR started upright when she was 10? wouldnt it of been massive compared to her
10 is about the earliest you can start on an upright.. I started on a half size.

3/4 is standard size.

LR

Bass+Fingers+Amp=Groove 08-13-2004 11:54 AM

Yeah, the uprigh people at my highschool said noooooo ones uses 4/4.

i would just to be

:upset:

mad chimp 08-13-2004 12:01 PM

mad chimp 08-13-2004 12:02 PM

i want to see a 4/4! anyone got a scale picture of 1?

AfroMan 08-13-2004 12:07 PM
lol i think thats a violin.
It's not a violin - It doesn't have a chin rest.

It's defintley a small double bass im still not sure if it's a 1/16 or not.
