I feel so let down when I buy a live album from a band that I like, and they don't even change any of the songs. Its like why preform live if your gonna do that.

willis2441 02-24-2005 04:28 PM

dosent war pigs have a low solo instead of high one?

Brew 02-24-2005 04:29 PM

To give the fans what they want, not everyone is into 10min+ improvised songs.

Hot Darn! 02-24-2005 04:30 PM

I bought the Symptoms of the Universe 2 CD set recently. My first Sabbath cd and I absoultely love it. i actually hesitated at first because I really only knew their radio songs and a few others, but it was really cheap in the used bin, so it was all good :)

willis2441 02-24-2005 04:33 PM

bill ward is my favorite old guy drummer, hes rusty and out of his game but he could still outdrum most drummers nowadays(and by rusty and out of his game i mean not as good as he used to be)
To give the fans what they want, not everyone is into 10min+ improvised songs.
Well I don't mean just 10min+ I mean like playing it exactly the same note for note, I'm trying to think of an example but its hard because I don't listen to bands like that.

shadow_stalker 02-25-2005 03:52 AM
yea,its pretty hard but i can play all of it.i was once so obsessed with that song i learned it all.im prolly rusty on it now...
the only parts that get me are the amount of times Bill changes the fills and the end bit, because i can't find any decent tabs.

Im currently learning the solo to NIB and I noticed it was slightly different live not much but still a bit. And I still like Black Sabbath live because the seem to have a different sound when on the stage. But if you really want long solos get Past Lives they do a nice long one that is jazz at some points for Wicked World.

shadow_stalker 02-25-2005 05:15 AM

Past Lives is awesome, and you get a free Black Sabbath pick with it.

rippa32 02-25-2005 05:22 AM

Yes but I have not used it yet (Im paranoid about breaking it or something)

shadow_stalker 02-25-2005 05:32 AM

Yeah, i want to use it but what if something happens to it?

I would have to buy a new past live's for a new one.

lensmand1 02-25-2005 05:35 AM

paranoid about breaking it :amaze: :amaze:   be ashamed of your punning :naughty: Anywayz, for me the best album was 'Bloody' still playing it now after all these years......
Attempting to learn the Bass solo for NIB at the mo ( Very new to the whole thing) and having fun. When geezer played it at the reunion gig it was awsome, simply indescribable.
Love the band and always will

rippa32 02-25-2005 05:37 AM

I wouldnt go to that extreme. You might be able to buy em separate at a music shop.

rippa32 02-25-2005 05:39 AM

Actually I didn't realise the pun until I had already posted it.

lensmand1 02-25-2005 05:43 AM

It amazes me how Ozzy suddenly has full use of his body again when on stage. And he suddenly has an american accent!

rippa32 02-25-2005 05:49 AM

Its not american.

lensmand1 02-25-2005 05:52 AM

i know he is a brummie, but he certainly don't sing like one. It wouldnt be very satanic would it :-)

rippa32 02-25-2005 05:56 AM

Singing voices are always different, look at Brian Johnson of AC/DC hes a Geordie for God's sake.

shadow_stalker 02-25-2005 06:14 AM

Woo go Geordies!

shadow_stalker 02-25-2005 06:15 AM
It amazes me how Ozzy suddenly has full use of his body again when on stage. And he suddenly has an american accent!
I hate it when people say that Ozzy puts on an american accent.

rippa32 02-25-2005 06:21 AM

So do I. At least he didnt say PaRanOiD ROX like most n00bs.

shadow_stalker 02-25-2005 06:29 AM
So do I. At least he didnt say PaRanOiD ROX like most n00bs.
...good thing i havnt said anything like that...

rippa32 02-25-2005 06:34 AM

lol What I actually meant was that most n00bs are pretty close minded when it comes to Sabbaths other songs but over time they understand the magic of their other music. This guy already knows that I think because he said something about Sabbath Bloody Sabbath.

shadow_stalker 02-25-2005 06:41 AM

ok, hmm havnt got much to say about sabbath today.

Anyone got a favourite song that they like to play by sabbath (on any instrument).

rippa32 02-25-2005 06:57 AM

I can play Iron Man main riff, NIB and children of the grave intro(incrdibly easy but also incredebly cool and sounds great)

rippa32 02-25-2005 06:58 AM

Well this post is kinda pointless because I jus wanted to reach 400 posts before I left so
Go Black Sabbath and all who have played for the band.

angus-young 02-25-2005 07:01 AM

paranoid is by far my favourite, it may not fav a crazy riff but it is awsome

pigonthewing82 02-25-2005 09:55 AM

My fav to play is Fairies Wear Boots. Its just awsome.

shadow_stalker 02-25-2005 09:57 AM

I always meant to learn Fairies were boots on the guitar but never got round to it.

Electric Funeral is good to play (on guitar) and the intro to 'behind the wall of sleep'.

KILO5203 02-25-2005 10:00 AM

i always meant to learn sabbath bloody sabbath but never got around to it. i love that song though.

IAJP 02-25-2005 10:05 AM

Bollocks Rippa is beating me.

IAJP 02-25-2005 10:07 AM

Uh yeah, my favourite Sabbath song to play is:
Supernaut, mainly because my band does a cover of it, I know it all, and it's cool. Good lyrics too.
(It's been my MSN name for over 2 months) the "Don't try to reach me cus I'll tear up your mind, I've seen the future and I left it behind"
God I love that song so much,

shadow_stalker 02-25-2005 10:08 AM

I'm beating you all.

Mwahahaha!

IAJP 02-25-2005 10:11 AM

Meh, as long as I'm up there.
Did Rippa leave? I just read up it looked like a leaving post

shadow_stalker 02-25-2005 10:14 AM

I think he ment 400 posts before he went off line...at least thats what i hope he meant.

IAJP 02-25-2005 10:20 AM

It looked like a leaving post,
oh well I guess.
I'll let this Megadeth song finnish and I'll get some sabbath on,

shadow_stalker 02-25-2005 12:33 PM

Hurray, everyone loves sabbath and if they dont they should.

Brew 02-25-2005 02:15 PM

Under the Sun, Sabbra Cadabra, Tomorrow's Dream, The Warning and NIB are my fav. Sabbath songs to play.

On bass that is, quite easily the greatest instrument ever.

And for showing off's sake, I can play Paranoid with my bass over the back of my head.

ToRidTheDisease 02-25-2005 02:54 PM

A National Acrobat is now officially my favorite Sabbath song.
