I don't read books anymore since I finished high-school...
i want to read Soldier X.
Stupid that you have to read certain books, we could chose the books by ourselves.
Tom Sawyer doesn't seem like my cup of tea.
I barely heard of Tom Sawyer...wasn't it that stupid kid who had some stupid friend in a treehouse?
I have no clue, but it was written like 150 years ago.
wow at least your books are books, we have to read some stupid collection of notes called the 7 highly effective habits of teens, and also some book with a bunch of andedotes on how music changed their lives, at least the music one sounds ok, but the other sounds like complete ****. The only books ive read this year is the harry potter books, they are so good, ive read them all like 4 times through.
The whole harry potter hype s'ucks big time!
How many books do you guys have to read anyways? |
I have to read 2 books this summer and i jsut finished one and have to read/finish the other one in less than a month.
Go buy Seinfeld And Philosophy. Best book ever.
Catcher in the Rye = best book ever
Cool. I finished Farenheit 451 yesterday. Great book. But, now I have to read tom Sawyer and I really don't want to.
farenheit 451 is a really good book. i read tom sawyer like 8 years ago. i don't really remember much of the story, but i don't remember it being bad. |
i just got back from the gym (golds), and in the 2+ years i have gone there they have always played pop like justin timberlake and britney spears type stuff over the audio system that i drown out with my mp3 player. tonight they played some thursday! it made my night.
I like to pretend I'm from a hardcore band and trick people on internet forums.
And cause a major ruckus while laughing at stupid 15 year-olds who just got into it and don't get the point of hardcore whatsoever. |
What's up with making fun of 15 and 16 yr old kids saying they will freak out if they meet someone from a band? I am 15 and don't freak out if I meet a member of a band met the dudes from one of my favorite bands the other day and they were totally down to earth I just talked to them about random **** (how was the drive from NYC, what other shows you playing, etc.) and didn't go "OH MY GOD YOU GUYS ARE MY FAVORITE BAND! LET'S PARTY!!!" I just don't see why you gotta make fun of someone a couple years younger than you.
You obviously totally missed my point.
Whats that? 15 and 16 year old kids dont understand hardcore?
And cause a major ruckus while laughing at stupid 15 year-olds who just got into it and don't get the point of hardcore whatsoever.
If you're too good for us 15-16 teens who know nothing about hardcore, why don't you STFU and stop posting here, elitist prick? :thumb: |
If we're younger than him then we are definitely less mature and intelligent.
obviously
Most of you are immature and relatively less intelligent. That wasn't his point though. He was saying it's ridiculous to get into meeting bands as if they were celebrities when they are more humble and reserved than any of the fans. Hardcore should have a community mentality, and the band members are not meant to be huge icons. Just dudes tearing it up.
Dude you are the one who in is immature when you have to say that we (15, 16 yr olds) are immature and less intelligent. Most people actually into hardcore treat it as a community mentality rather than the god among men status rampant in the other forms of music. Stop downing all of us you arn't making anyone more hardcore or emo or whatever by calling us stupid. |
Tornpictures is prejudiced. When i first got into hardcore i didn't go round thinking i was the shit and that there was no difference between the hardcore scene and other music scenes. I listened to those whose views i respected and learnt about hardcore from them. The majority of us, i think, did the same.
What the **** is this thread about? Emo/Screamo, right? Plus it says Community Thread so I think we should act like a ****ing mob of people who like emo/screamo and act like a community. You know what's immature? Ripping our own selves apart in this thread like whiny kids. Yeah, I get pissed off too when reading torn's posts because I don't like his way of speaking at all I'm no better or worst than any of you. But heck, why don't we all cool off.
Acting as a community doesn't mean bashing other communities, however. So why the **** don't we act like a community ourselves? Stronger emo/screamo MX community means more harmony, means patience with emo ignorants, means more people actually interested in this thread, means stronger emo/screamo community and it starts over again. Get it? |

That is of course unless you were born hardcore like torn. |
Give me an example of how I am less intelligent, please.
Torn was making a ****ing elitist statement and I will pursue an argument cause **** talked pisses me off. Sorry I misinterpreted your statement. Funeral Diner is pretty cool.

Hahahahhaha. Again you missed the point. Do you fail to see that you kids are the elitists by ruling out everyone who listens to pop-emo? And I'm not prejudiced, I'm just generalizing. Most of the kids I see here (of your age) are stupid ignorant kids who do nothing else but bag on other people because they listen to music they stopped listening to. Stupid ****ing purists who hide their 'dark' musical past. Annd it seems like most of you are definitely NOT in hardcore for the music which ****ing sucks. |
As -1up!1- has said "why don't we all cool off" and let it lie.
Although I partially agree with -1up!- I think it's good to have a firm discussion like this one once in a while..
And the truth comes out. I wrote a review. It rules almost as much as torn and I rule at tricking people.
Good review! Even better music! (some how I can't post a comment at sputnik  ) |

You want to know what I used to listen to? I listened to nu-metal and punk and a little hardcore up until about 8th grade when I discovered Norma Jean. I still listen to pop-emo or fake-emo (dashboard and older tbs) and "fashioncore" bleeding through, every time i die, old atreyu, and old eighteen visions. In honesty I didn't discover real emo or screamo until about 7 months ago through Saetia, Orchid, and City of Caterpillar. When I listened to dashboard and tbs I never thought of them as emo because I had known that the definition was emotional hardcore and neither of these bands are or were hardcore. I rule out people who come in and tell me that the music I primarily listen to isn't something more past the pop-emo stuff (as in "HAwthorne Heights are the only real emo band".) If someone comes in to the forums and asks about good emo bands saying they like such and such pop-emo band I will tell them some good bands but with the warning it sounds nothing like the stuff their used to. And I am into hardcore for the music most definately because it wasn't for some popularity statement because until 9th grade I was the only person in the Clemson, South Carolina area into anything besides straight pop-music who liked anything besides nu-metal and marilyn manson. (I'm in 10th grade now by the way.) |

I guess it proves, it doesn't matter how long you've been alive - what matters is the amount of knowledge you've gained while you've been here. I don't think that it matters how you got into the music, as long as you're listening to it now. I too, started with nu-metal/punk which branched me into hardcore, then post-hardcore, then emo. I also listen to the pop-emo/fake-emo stuff aswell. This arguement seems pretty retarded. We just argueing over someone being less intelligent because they're younger? In some cases, it's true. I believe that age doesn't matter anymore though. |

Oh I see. We were talking about Hot Cross. I brought up the point that I bought the singer's vinyl. That's all. |
What's 10th grade again?
I was supposed to see Hot Cross awhile ago, then I forgot which day the show was, so I missed it.
What's 10th grade again?
It's kind of like anal sex without the lube. |
Hahahahaha.
Hahahaha. Seriously though, is 10th grade when you're 14 or 15?
i was 15 when i started, 16 when i finished 10th grade.
Oh right.
