I doubt it, neither story is really all that complex.I guess Mike probably did it to help him write.

MAYH-Man dies, becomes a ghost and is forced to witness his loved one slowly forget about him and move on.

Still Life-Exiled man returns after 15 years for his love, Melinda. As we all know, there is no happy ending in this one either.

Dr. Jake Destructo 07-02-2005 11:04 PM

:-/ Sounds sad. Concept albums own though. Are the 2 albums intertwined with each other, or are they seperate? They sound similair..

Lateralias 07-02-2005 11:32 PM

They are seperate.. and the music really makes each story different to me. MAYH is somewhat darker to me. Yeah they are pretty simple but it shows that Mikael is good with leading a story throughout the album.

Grey Incision 07-03-2005 05:43 PM

definatly, i listened to MAYH all the way through yesterday (as its my favoutire album) and i just love it, I thought that still life's lyrics felt kinda cheesy and didn't fit as well. (even though it is amazing and fits great). But with MAYH, everything fits, i love it:)

Dr. Jake Destructo 07-03-2005 05:55 PM

So then if I had BWP, which album should I purchase next?

Grey Incision 07-03-2005 06:09 PM
So then if I had BWP, which album should I purchase next?
Definatly MAYH :thumb:

Lateralias 07-03-2005 07:25 PM

Well you won't go wrong with either MAYH or Still Life..

Crysiss 07-03-2005 07:51 PM

I was reading through from page 100 to now. I wish that those people were still going to do that cover of those three songs :sighs:

Deth 07-03-2005 08:08 PM

Which ever you can find, those two have proven difficult to locate for me.

Dr. Jake Destructo 07-03-2005 08:10 PM

wtf..I think that the Tool guys are the only thread actaully doing covers. Well, and Rage Against the Machine, which I am also involved in. :p

Yeah, if I can't find them, I'll just download them.

Creeping Deth- Did I already compliment your avatar? If not, GG.

Darkness 07-04-2005 11:32 AM

Jake, get Still Life next... then MAYH, simply because it will be less of a change.

RouteOne 07-04-2005 11:35 AM

I can't find still life or MAYH ANYWHERE. :(

Blanka Flip 07-04-2005 02:04 PM

Hey guys... Does anyone have any idea how long Opeth will play on average on the Sounds of the Underground Tour? I'm going on the 15th and can't f u c k i n g wait.

Darkness 07-04-2005 02:06 PM

People have said they have about a half hour set playing songs like The Drapery falls, Deliverance, and Demon of the Fall.

Dr. Jake Destructo 07-04-2005 03:18 PM

Yeah, I've heard they only play for half an hour. I don't know if that's worth your 35 bucks or not..:-/

Txus 07-04-2005 03:22 PM

They play like 3 or 4 songs max.

denboy 07-04-2005 03:22 PM

Draper Falls, Deliverance and demon of the fall is worth 35 bucks.. Trust me

Dr. Jake Destructo 07-04-2005 03:24 PM

I suppose I would pay to see that, but you have to also pay to see 15+ bad bands perfrom first. :upset:

I think I would still go, though.

denboy 07-04-2005 03:27 PM

What 15+ bands is it?

Dr. Jake Destructo 07-04-2005 03:32 PM

I've heard a few names tossed around, but I can't remember any of them because they were bands that I wasn't into. I know that Opeth is the only death metal band there, though. Strapping Yound Lad I know is also going to be there, but I've never heard anything by them, so I'd rather not judge. I've heard that they're good though.
Wow.. so many bad bands
I know so..IMO the only band's that worth money to watch are:
Opeth
Lamb Of God
Strapping Young Lad
A Life Once Lost
The Black Dahlia Murder

Blanka Flip 07-04-2005 04:22 PM

DevilDriver, Gwar, Opeth. The only three bands I'm really interested in seeing. If Opeth wasn't playing I wouldn't be going... Yikes... The thought of them playing under Lamb of God really pisses me off. Thanks so much guys!

Charlie Gaines 07-04-2005 04:55 PM

Could anybody please give me a link to the new song?

Grey Incision 07-04-2005 06:03 PM

That's friggen terrible:upset: Mike even said in an interview that he passionately dislikes 'pretty metal' bands such as slipknot, chimaira etc. He then said that he hasn't heard any of the bands on the tour, but it would be good to see what else is around....................poor mike is gonna have a heart attack

PeEpHoLe_10 07-05-2005 05:53 AM

Yes, get ****ation. Its nearly their best IMO. Definately in my top 3 Opeth albums.

Blanka Flip 07-05-2005 08:30 AM
Oh YEAH!?

Well I'm seeing them in 2 weeks. *shakes*
My friend almost got his mom to take us to an Opeth concert...

He only showed her Damnation. :p

I wanted to go to the Sounds Of The Underground tour, but none of my friends wanted to go...

I'd go for Opeth, Gwar, Unearth, and Devildriver.
