when my band was going we had a litle mini tour and it was basically 11 nights straight we went from k-falls up to washington and back and i was so tired by the end of that, my neck and back were so sore i could barely walk, my throat was getting really messed up (i didnt really have a technique to screaming back tehn, just kinda did it as looud and as hard as i could.)

Dimmu Burger 07-10-2008 01:40 PM

Its funny cause I forgot to stretch out my neck at our last show and holy crap it hurt like hell for like a week. If I stretch out I'm a lot better off. I've done vocals at a few shows in a row and even two in one night and it wasn't a problem, I had learned a lot of warm ups by that point.
oh ****
she?
lol did rody feel bad?
Yeah, he did. It was the first song of the set, too.
Mad props to them and DEP etc for being able to do that.
DEP can't. Look at the line-up changes. Look at the injuries. Brian Benoit is going to be lucky to ever pick up a guitar with all the damage he's done to his arm.

yeah i make sure i try to stretch thoroughly before our set, i was a crazy little **** though, jumping off **** and whatnot, hurt my knee when we played in camas washington, jumped off a huge monitor sitting next to the stage and the lights were going and i didnt see where the floor was and just anticipated the fall wrong and jacked my knee to ****
still hurts to this day.
and i've pinched my siatic nerve in my back a few times, once and a while the feeling in my fingers go numb, and our guitar player smacked me in the face with his headstock of his guitar and broke my nose when we played in k falls the second time
playying on stage can be brutal

Dimmu Burger 07-10-2008 02:42 PM

Yeah I haven't rocked out that hard lol. I also haven't played with people who rock out that hard.

beans 07-10-2008 02:54 PM

yeah we were just stupid sometimes, but we had a good time on stage and did our thing every night

Dimmu Burger 07-10-2008 03:01 PM

What was the band called?

Tyler 07-10-2008 03:02 PM

Who cares take it to the community thread

Dimmu Burger 07-10-2008 03:03 PM

jerk.

I was reading an article in Guitar World about DEP and their new guitarist about a year ago. It said that the dude had to get health insurance before they let him tour with the band.

Dimmu Burger 07-10-2008 03:12 PM

Oh really? Well that would be a good idea.

Tyler 07-10-2008 03:16 PM

Their new guitarist is terrible, him hurting himself is a blessing in disguise.

Dimmu Burger 07-10-2008 03:19 PM

I didn't think the new guy hurt himself. Unless I'm not understanding you. It would be a blessing in disguise if it happened.

Weinman is the one who goes the most apeshit and lucky for him he's still around.

Though wasn't Benoits injury from a car accident?

Tyler 07-10-2008 06:24 PM

That was actually Ben Weinman who got in the car accident. Hurt his shoulder, they had to drop off Gigantour because of it. That was around the same time Benoit's nerve damage really started taking it's toll (if I'm not mistaken).

Their original bassist was paralyzed from a car accident as well.

alytee123 07-10-2008 06:42 PM

Ah my bad, I knew someone was in a car accident. I guess Benoit just messed himself up from the live shows then. It's a shame cause he was better than Jeff.

beans 07-14-2008 11:24 AM

sounds like a dysfunctional band

cadencethefire 07-14-2008 02:35 PM

this music makes my butthole juice and pucker

Capricious 07-17-2008 07:57 PM

Is it too early to speculate on the next album? -cause i wanna talk about hopes/fears about it.

What ever happened to the couple tracks for the Japanese release; only rumor?

Tyler 07-17-2008 09:02 PM

Yeah, just a rumour.

What hopes/fears? It'll be heavier, that's probably the only thing you can assume right now. They're touring for about a year straight, I'll see what I can find out.

Dies Irae 07-17-2008 09:10 PM

i already have it

and you people think ur true fans

kattunlover69 07-18-2008 10:33 PM

i just hope the process to making their next album will be more like kezia instead of fortress...(it was made pure instrumental first then thought about the vocals later I assume)

Tyler 07-18-2008 10:38 PM

Kezia was written the same way.

P13 07-18-2008 10:40 PM

they just had a better concept with kezia

Tyler 07-18-2008 10:41 PM

There wasn't really a concept to Kezia. The overarching themes on Fortress are much cooler, to be honest.

Nepenthe 07-18-2008 11:24 PM

i used to like when theyd get all poppy on kezia. i dont like really like fortress.

kattunlover69 07-18-2008 11:38 PM

just to me some of the vocal passages didnt really match well like it was in kezia..i mean...they could off thrown someday cool at the end of goddess bound...but meh..various other parts seems iffy to me too but its was an awesome release nonetheless

bloodmeat was just perfect

Dies Irae 07-18-2008 11:42 PM

vocals on kezia are horrible

kattunlover69 07-18-2008 11:43 PM
vocals on kezia are awesome
i agree
