So can anyone find videos of shows from their current tour?
I thought Matt ruptured his voice box or something and thats why he cant scream anymore?
thats M. Shadows from Avenged Sevenfold your thinking of. Matt Heafy just didnt know how to sing properly so he decided it would be easier to just scream. now he has a vocal coach and has learned how to sing, so unless it is absolutely necessary in the future he will only sing now.

the name of this thread should be 'Gunshot to the thread of Trepidation'.

Nepenthe 10-16-2006 07:18 PM

As if people need more reason to blindly insult Trivium.

I thought they were gonna not do anymore puns for thread titles.

Nepenthe 10-16-2006 09:41 PM

They can definately write hooky riffs and melodies.

Beyond that, I wouldn't be willing to give them so many compliments.

I do realize that I've made it appear that I'm a die hard Trivium fan, but to be honest, I see them as nothing more than a decent band. The senseless bashing just aggravates me, and since no one else is there to stick up for the poor fools, I just go ahead and do it.

Hey, I finally got The Crusade the other day. Blown away. I like the Het-style singing better than the old screaming because it's more believable. It totally sounds like they're pissed. I mean, come on, who really screams/skwawks(like the old albums) when they're pissed.

I already noticed that Unrepentant sounds like Through The Never, but has anyone else noticed that To The Rats sounds like Dyers Eve?

Ehhh. They are some of the biggest metallica fanboys on earth. Shocking, I think not.

unrepentant only sounds like through the never before the drums come in. when travis comes in hes playing on the opposite beat that through the never is on, so it sounds quite different even though the riffs are pretty similar. and from to the rats i dont get a metallica vibe at all (and it sounds nothing like dyers eve). i do, however, get a really strong slayer vibe. i even think he kinda sounds like tom araya in parts of it. anyone else notice that?

Yeah i actually did notice that. for a while i couldnt put my finger on it, but it does have a serious slayer feel to it. strange, not too bad though.

For some reason one of the riffs from Unrepentant reminds me of Disturbed. Does anyone else agree?

depends on which riff you are talking about.

VomitStainedCretin 10-17-2006 03:00 PM

The one after Heafy sings "you take, you take their lives away" reminds me of Disturbed's Just Stop.

here comes the bird flu 10-17-2006 04:24 PM

hmm..

I don't know. I don't really listen to Distrubed; just sounds like Trivium to me..

RockGuitarist501 10-17-2006 07:31 PM

trivium are great. saw them this past saturday and they were kickass.

I dont care for Disturbed, but Ive heard their singles on Scuzz. That part of Unrepentant just feels to me a bit like Disturbed's riffage - not ripping off Disturbed. Unrepentant has possibly the best solo on the Crusade. The album itself is pretty average in my eyes and a step down from Ascendancy, not that it isnt enjoyable. For me, the Crusade is 5.5/10, Ascendancy is about 7.5/10 and Ember To Inferno is a 6.5/10.

Corkofski 10-18-2006 12:21 PM

hey guys,

yea, i need money...

im selling my trivium drum head, £40, signed by the whole band.

just advertising here before ebay.

email me if interested / you want pics at highonthedownlow@googlemail.com

it has been played by travis smith, and has some nice dents and sweat marks if you want his DNA...

Irons_rock 10-18-2006 12:32 PM

Going too see them in December with maiden.
Heard maiden arn't gonna play many classics though and just there new album. :[

Corkofski 10-18-2006 12:36 PM

that sucks ****...

im not seeing maiden this time round tho...

Quiksilver26 10-18-2006 12:38 PM

^and that's a bad thing? The current set for this tour is absolutely killer live.
Perhaps even the best I've seen Maiden was on this tour.

edit: to Irons rock, of course :)

Is the new trivium albulm worth getting? I have ascendancy, and I like it.

Grumma 10-20-2006 02:00 AM

Haha dont do that cos the ones on their myspace apart from Unrepentant are my least faves :p
