MadThumbs computer is down. He can still get on occasionally through school computers. He doesn't know when it'll be fixed, unfortunately, so it's an indefinate temporary abscence.

Hey Miles (that's a rad name), where's TRAINS under your interests?!

And that's a great list of bands. I dig most.

Name: Matt
Age: 17
Location: Mattawa, ON
Job/Occupation: Professional Crastinator
Instruments other than bass played: Guitar
Years playing bass, etc: Well, I got my first bass in October 2002, but I started actually playing songs in January, 2003. So count however you wish.
How many instruments do you have?: 4. The Mach 2 bass; my very first, and all it says is Mach 2 on the headstock, and Made In Japan on the neckplate. I love that bass.
[img]http://www.geocities.com/jesuschristsuperstoreband/Matt-FJIdol2.JPG[/img]
Ibanez GSR 200. Jewel Blue. My main bass now. My baby. :) (PS-that pic's old)
[img]http://www.geocities.com/mcphatty2002/Matt5.jpg[/img]
Peavey acoustic guitar. I got it in April 2003. No pics, but it's really nice.
"Challenger" classical acoustic. Got it in June, 2003 cause my school was throwing it away. No pics.
What's cool about where you live?: [url]http://www.angusmagazine.com[/url] Angus Magazine is from Mattawa, hilarious mag, the only one I read. Every summer we have Mattawa Voyageur Days, which is a big festival thing, it's great too. Mattawa's also close to North Bay, which has Music City, uber music shop. Mattawa's home to my band, JCS, and a really good punk band called Volume Republic.
Do you have a car? : (Model, color, name?) If my Raleigh bycicle can be considered a car, sure. It's black and silver... and I just call it "my bike".
Do you have pets?: Nope, but when I was little we used to have fish, and a big aqarium. (Story time) When I was 4, I got my first fish, a goldfish. I used to try to teach it tricks and stuff like that. After several months of swimming around in the aquarium in my room, it died. I thought I had taught it to roll over! And boy was I ever happy; that is, till I showed my parents and they explained that my fish 'went to sleep' and that's how they 'slept'.
What's in your room?: My stuff, my computer, my guitars and basses, my Ibanez 10 watt amp (the big one's at my guitarist's house), books, clothes, my CD rack with CDs, my old teddy and blanket :D (in a box in my closet) and numerous other things.
Where do you see yourself in 5 years? Playing music in my band, in a different band, or acting or doing standup comedy.

It's not the trains so much that bother me. It's those fuc[SIZE=2]k[/SIZE]ing gigantic pictures of them. I think people should chill out and learn to resize before we have the privlige that is img tags revoked in the bass forum, and have to resort to links only.

I've been getting a lot more open with the people in the forum and am hoping that I am giving valuable advice.

But as time goes by, I fear I am becoming a spamwhore. So guys, am I?

Crapdragoon 08-06-2004 08:23 PM

Story

LightRaven 08-06-2004 09:19 PM

Casual Stuff V.. Lets Jive..

Hmmm... nothing much to report on this end. I'm in a piss poor mood (BF issues).... and I'm bored.

I cleaned my room today. :) It took me seven months to get it clean in the first place.. now it only takes me a half hour to tidy it up and dust. :) (You must think I'm a slob, but when you live at work, and live in your car, and you are home more often than not.. just to sleep... things pile up.)

So, lets see..... What to talk about....

Oh.. I know.

Often times we don't know why we do things, or why we feel the way we do... Sometimes we have these feelings about something or other, and the feelings seem irrational. Like you shouldn't be feeling that way...

On Tuesday night, when my dad was in the hospital.. I was going through one of my psychotic episodes... and it wasn't so much because my father was in the hospital,(not that it helped) because a friend of my mom's had called and clued me in on my father's condition.. as her husband also has a bleeding ulcer.. (my parents like to tell me things and then not elaborate.. which leaves my incredibly pessimistic imagination to make up the rest).. anyway... I was feeling incredibly lonely and abandoned...

The next day I sat down to actually WRITE about it. Sometimes when we just think about things, we don't have linear thoughts (math: linear: straight line).. our minds are multitasking entities.. and we tend not to think things through. But when we force ourselves to think it through, by way of writing.. cause its awfully hard to go off onto different tangents when writing... we then can find the underlying causes of our behavior, thoughts, or feelings.

I found that I was incredibly pissed off at my father for waiting months and months before going to the doctor... and only going to the doctor because he absolutely had to. I was incredibly pissed off that my brother didn't come home from his GF house when I told him what was going on... that he stayed the night there... so I was left home alone.. and waiting and worrying about my dad. And I was incredibly pissed off at my BF for not calling me. (but he did call me later that night..)

So the moral of this story is.... the next time you are thinking, feeling or behaving in a way that you don't understand... think it through... write it out... and unless you are completely crazy like me... you'll figure it out :)

The end.
