I never said they were sellouts, except for that one time.
...?

One time to many, yeah?

Ozzfestgod666 09-18-2005 12:53 AM

Slipknot was a lower down band for me except for maybe 8 songs top but the last 2 cds put out by slipknow totally blow me away,, and the fact that they solo on their new one gives them a whole new respect from me. I think slipknots slight change of style was for the better and they pulled it off withought mistake!

bodger 09-22-2005 07:31 AM

personally not a slipknot fan. they are nothing new or special, the rythm section is average and the guitars sound too distorted. not saying they are s*** cos the band has potential(talent wise) but it would be nice to see some original music being released. it seems all so called metal bands(with a few exceptions ie tool n dream theater) today are the same old screamo stuff and lyrics consist of death and f***. but hey what ever makes you millions of dollars a year is a **** good job

Thor 09-24-2005 08:24 AM
I dont see why people make a big deal out of this selling out. As long as they still make kickass music, I could care less that they changed their style. We listen to music for entertainment not because they stay true to their music and such.

Although like most people said, slipknot has been selling good from the start, so they just continued selling.
And it's not like Slipknot was really "tr00" in the first place.

Anyways, now that I look back on Iowa, it's a lot better than it used to be.

Listen to all of the weird intros, I'm pretty sure that is all of Craig's doing.

Purple Alien 09-24-2005 09:47 AM

Well besides Intros like actual songs...I know he plays a sample here and there on some songs but where is a song where he is heard more often...

He does a good deal of stuff in Vermilion if I am not mistaken.

Purple Alien 09-24-2005 09:53 AM

Really? I've only heard his piano stuff from like Duality and that one song at the end of the CD (cant remember the name right now), and all of that screaming and stuff is Sid ain't it? Sid always seems to take all the good places for sampling lol

Thor 09-24-2005 09:58 AM

The band really doesn't need Craig at all, his mask just happens to look really cool.

Purple Alien 09-24-2005 09:59 AM

He does have a cool mask but im asking about his sampling cause I have this dream that me and my friend would make a sampling and dj duet cause i kinda wanna get into sampling but the only band i know that uses sampling is Slipknot...and Linkin park doesnt count...

Well Linkin Park does have better than sampling than Slipknot, whether you want to admit it or not.

Purple Alien 09-26-2005 04:54 AM

I never understood the difference between bass (drum) pedals... ha i had to put drum as not to get confused with the type of bass pedal i use ;)...well ya linkin park does have better sampling but they also dont have that much guitar but this aint about LP...

FalloutBoySucks 09-26-2005 04:57 AM

Slipknot is one of my favorite bands, but i have no idea, nor do i care, when joey switched double bass pedals. im diggin the fact that jim root is using fender customs tho, ****in awesome...

masterchief 09-29-2005 07:24 AM

There are too many slipknot bashers on musicianforums.

badtaste 09-29-2005 07:40 AM

Howdy everyone. Has Paul switched to Ibanez? I saw a pic without his usually corvette (I think), it was a orange-brown looking bass. Concert was Ozzfest, I think.

badtaste 09-29-2005 07:41 AM
There are too many slipknot bashers on musicianforums.
Well, you could understand why Slipknot would be bagged. And the 'Maggots' aren't helping out the cause to see Slipknot recognised as a decent band. I wish we had a system of labelling the 13 year old kids from the ... decent fans?

1omega3 09-29-2005 07:51 AM

/\ totally, I'm so sick of going around forums like this and being hassled by a 13 year old who thinks he knows everything about whatever band is being talked about. Maybe we need an entrance exam to all forums.. "Question 1. ArE SlIpKNot Da ShIZNiT YoU HaRDcORe BitCH?". Perhaps something like that would work? Anyway, looking very much forward to catching the full line up once again at Download next year. They seemed to sorely miss Clown this year. Was nice to see a band so openly care about each other.
Yeah they still sell it
You can find it used, but that's it. It is no longer in print.
