The Hip
Hey fave bands right now I would have to say are The Tragically Hip, Broken Social Scene, Dave Matthews Band, Radiohead,The Strokes, Smashing Pumpkins, Moist and of course some more Tragically Hip. Just wondering if some people could put some tragically hip drum tabs up, especially Ahead by a Century, that would make my day. Also if there are any tragically hip threads I'd be happy to be directed to them
The illusions of someday casting a golden light |
The Barracudas, these guys are gold. Please, if you squares know of a better band, then please tell me. I am dying to know.
Been listening to some of my old Big Star records today. They really are a maturely-appreciated band. ( sense?) |
maturely?
|
Yeah exactly. What I mean is: I've had these albums for like 3 years, I didn't really like them then, now I do.
I'm going to believe that I'm now more mature, although it's unlikely. |
Blink 182 and Delirious were nearly all I listened to for the last 2 weeks. Once or twice I listened to Sigur Ros, Moby, QOTSA and Nick Cave.

The Cure - The Head on the Door Joy Division - Closer Rob Dougan - Furious Angels The Bronx - The Bronx Does anybody else dig Rob D? The album is one of the best trip hop style albums I've ever heard. |
I like that song that he has that is in every movie trailer.
|
Yeah, well he sings on most of the tracks on the album. It is so great, i'm gunna make a thread about him.
|
So I've been diggin' those. Aha, Shake has blown me away. Excellent album.
Really? Because I fucking hate that Kings of Leon song they've been playing on JJJ lately. I dunno what it's called, it's the one that goes "aaaayteen... baaaaaawwwlding" and it frustrates me with it's lack of being good. |
Hah, it sounds funny, but it's a good lyric.
I also like it. |
Started listening to a lot of Sublime again lately... So good.

Me loves noise rock.
Faust Can This Heat I wouldn't be surprised if I started talking about This Heat nonstop soon, I really really like them right now. They're better than Faust or Can easily. |
 Tangy's ears are burning.
I heavily dug Paul's Boutique today. I mean.....Today I was mostly digging Paul's Boutique. |
If Tangy starts shit with me about This Heat being better than Can, I smash his face in.
|
Tangy....I thank you, for leading me on to these two men:
Nick Cave Nick Drake. Thank you. |
Let it Be and Faded Seaside Glamour by The Delays

Does anybody else dig Rob D? The album is one of the best trip hop style albums I've ever heard.
Toozey told me about Rob Dougan a while ago. I didn't check into him too far, but what I heard didn't sound to be too much like trip-hop, more just general ambient techno. Not bad though, and it's certainly not inconceivable that he switches styles. I like as not haven't heard anything from Furious Angels. |
I dig Frances The Mute today.
|
I'm liking Dysrhythmia and Frantic Bleep, along with Damage. So good.
