you'll have to tell me how you rediscovered it because i currently think NDR is better (not a fan of all the hardcore filler in the middle)
which songs?

I'm going to disagree, because I think I genuinely love EVERY song on Zen Arcade except the last one, which is cool but I'm not sitting through it every time. Masochism World I can take or leave...still a good track though.

perriwinkle 10-22-2007 07:28 PM

you know what song is so ****ing good?

Half Twist by the Young Ginns. jesus christ

You're ****ing right!

I know "Time to Die" as well, because that's a Void cover. Young Ginns are awesome, shame they didn't record more...although we might not have had Unwound if they did, so maybe it's not such a bad thing.

ATM 10-22-2007 08:48 PM

I still need to check out Unwound.

Hardly noise but it's a badarse album yea. Know what I really like? Their split with Liars - fuck that is cool.

Tangy zizzle 10-23-2007 03:50 PM
hey Tangy, get a chance to listen to the IHH album yet?

As far as my digging goes it's still just The River.
Yea, just got around to it (lazy i know). I like it and will listen to it more than once but it's a little "I've heard this before". They've definately got something there though. Would love to see 'em live.

Tell Matt to get the fuck over here, seriously. They can stay at my house if needs be.

I love that band so ****ing much. Every album/ep I own by them rules so much. Except The Wedding, but we can forget about that

Tangy zizzle 10-23-2007 04:04 PM

wha? The Wedding has some great stuff on it.

AlienEater 10-23-2007 04:09 PM

I don't mean it's bad or nothing, it's ok but it isn't as good as the others

I haven't really listened to it that much though.

Youngs 10-23-2007 06:23 PM

I heard Conlon Nancarrow, but didn't have big thoughts about it. Ligeti is better. I haven't been digging anything recently. Except for the fall. I love the leaves and the cheeks that blushes, when you drive your bicycle and listen to old records. I wan't to stop time an evening during fall. Afterwards I want to get a really good meal. With meat. While listening to post-rock.

Daft Punk - Discovery

poopie 10-23-2007 06:44 PM

sounds pretty epic. i just had a philly steak and cheese sandwich with swiss cheese, mushrooms, peppers, mayo, and cherry pepper relish. man that was good. i was listening to Decoder Ring while i ate it. anyone heard Somersault by them? pretty captivating album

ATM 10-23-2007 08:48 PM

Decoder Ring are good.

Well, rap album of the year so far for me is Little Brother - Get Back. I listened to it so much today.

Also at work I listened to:
Sleeping People - Growing
Buried At Sea - Ghosts
Stereolab - Margerine Eclipse

Yeah I'd say that's fair enough. I'm a little biased so it's hard for me to make a proper judgement.

I'll let him know they can stay at yours, it just might seal the deal. I'm sure they'd love to go to NZ though, they're pretty damn sick of driving up and down the east coast of Oz that's for sure.

Nick Cave & the Bad Seeds - Abbatoir Blues/The Lyre of Orpheus
Nick Cave & the Bad Seeds - Let Love In

Tangy zizzle 10-24-2007 02:02 AM

goooooooooood

br3ad_man 10-24-2007 09:11 AM

For anyone who cares, Nick Cave played by far the best show I have ever seen tonight. Grinderman was a little underwhelming and Nick Cave solo is at least twice as good as anything else I've seen.

Setlist, more or less in order;

Red Right Hand
The Weeping Song
The Ship Song
Deanna
Love Letter
Into My Arms
Messiah Ward (I think)
-not sure-
Tupelo
The Mercy Seat
God is in the House
Babe You Turn Me On
Lyre of Orpheus
Go Tell the Women
People Aint No Good

Can't remember the last song. Lucy was in there somewhere as well.

Riziger 10-24-2007 09:33 AM

still digging porcupine tree.

at night tho, jazz.
