Oh yea, that's who it was. I saw that he was gonna be on, but I forgot :(

magicbus 02-07-2005 04:07 PM

Is he going to be on something?

jpj 02-07-2005 04:09 PM
Is he going to be on something?
He was on Austin City Limits.

magicbus 02-07-2005 04:11 PM

Oh. So I missed it?

jpj 02-07-2005 04:12 PM
Oh. So I missed it?
I'm afraid so, unless they show re-runs, but I don't think they do.

RockAndRoll 02-07-2005 04:12 PM
Randolph
Yay. It was great, but I found it funny because I remember arguing with you about him and clapton and you saying something like you prefer randolph because he makes the blues his own, or does something new, something along those lines. But what I heard was actually really old sounding(he did bring out his old "mentors" and such), I just thought it was kind of funny.

But all around it was great, it sounded old (not that there's anything wrong with that) and it was a much cleaner more precise and controlled sound then when I heard him live, anyways it was great.

Badmoon 02-07-2005 04:17 PM

The Randolph I know will always be energetic, original and all over the pedal steel.

jpj 02-07-2005 04:17 PM

Do you know if they show re-runs? Or is there anywhere where I can see it? Did you listen to it on the radio or watch it on PBS?

otrdrummer 02-07-2005 04:19 PM

yea im only 15 but i love classic rock. I just cant get into the new bands,

Illmatic 02-07-2005 04:20 PM

I saw Randolph when he opened for Clapton last summer, and he was easily much better than Clapton.

magicbus 02-07-2005 04:20 PM

I've never heard of the show you guys are talking about.

Badmoon 02-07-2005 04:23 PM
I saw Randolph when he opened for Clapton last summer, and he was easily much better than Clapton.
Ha

Randolph - 2

Clapton - 1

RockAndRoll 02-07-2005 04:24 PM
The Randolph I know will always be energetic, original and all over the pedal steel.
oh he was energetic for sure. Never anything less. It's just it sounded like quite old music.I just thought it was funny. He was really energetic though that has never changed.

magicbus 02-07-2005 04:24 PM

I like Clapton better :p

Although I greatly respect Randolph, and realize he is a great player.

Broken Arrow 02-07-2005 04:27 PM

Well if I heard some more Randolph my opinion could change but right now it's Clapton.

jpj 02-07-2005 04:27 PM

Are we talking Clapton solo or all Clapton?

RockAndRoll 02-07-2005 04:28 PM

Randolph is not better than clapton, to argue such is foolishness. Complete, utter foolishness.

RockAndRoll 02-07-2005 04:29 PM
Are we talking Clapton solo or all Clapton?
All clapton.

Oh and Clapton takes the lead. :p

Broken Arrow 02-07-2005 04:29 PM
Are we talking Clapton solo or all Clapton?
Alll Clapton, I believe.

jpj 02-07-2005 04:30 PM

Then I go Clapton because there's no way you could say Randolph is better than Cream.

Broken Arrow 02-07-2005 04:31 PM
Then I go Clapton because there's no way you could say Randolph is better than Cream.
Yep Cream is pretty hard to beat.

RockAndRoll 02-07-2005 04:34 PM

heh, exactly! you guys should listen to randolph though he's good.

magicbus 02-07-2005 04:37 PM

All Clapton for relz.

jpj 02-07-2005 04:38 PM
heh, exactly! you guys should listen to randolph though he's good.
I listen to him on occasion, I don't own anything though. There's just never enough money when I go shopping :(

Broken Arrow 02-07-2005 04:39 PM

I only heard bootlegs and a song Badmoon sent me.

Six Foot Revolver 02-07-2005 04:42 PM

Please don't beat me with a stick for this one but who is Randolph?

jpj 02-07-2005 04:44 PM
Please don't beat me with a stick for this one but who is Randolph?
Robert Randolph, he's a black pedal steel (is that the right term?) guitarist and is damn good.

Jam2Me 02-07-2005 04:47 PM

I'm just wondering but does it seem that people like the blues at the pinnacle of their music-liking careers? My uncle has seen more shows than anyone I know, countless famous classic rock bands, everything from funk to tex-mex rock, and his music of choice is the blues. Most of our favorite bands were influenced by various blues artists (or stole their work *cheap shot at LZ*) so what do you guys think?

Six Foot Revolver 02-07-2005 04:47 PM

Oh, thanks for that

Broken Arrow 02-07-2005 04:49 PM

I like the blues probably the most out of the different genres.
