Win A Rabbit 03-14-2006 05:07 PM

i'm going tobogganing (?) later today. yay. i haven't gone this whole winter. my friends have gone on a couple of nights when i worked, but by the time i got back and showered and whatnot, it was 10:30 and i didn't feel like going out.

i had some of that diet cherry vanilla dr. pepper for the first time today, it was really nothing special. but nothing beats some good ol' jalapeno cheddar chips.

White 03-14-2006 05:14 PM

lol, We havn't gotten any snow yet this winter lol, its been really wierd. And yeah, Im sooooo bored lol.

Janeway 03-14-2006 06:01 PM

AAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAH!
SCREW THE AUTISTIC KID WHO SCORED 6 3-POINTERS!
SCREW HIM IN HIS RETARDED ASS!
They're just exploiting his autism.
If any normal kid did that he wouldn't get crap.
But oooooooooh, a semi-retarded kid did it, lets let the president eat candy from his ass hole! AAAAAAAAAAGH. And the Greece mall sucks.

Win A Rabbit 03-14-2006 06:16 PM

it's like the daily show segment: "human interest stories used to emotionally manipulate you"

has anyone here watched 'curb your enthusiasm' ? i had wanted to see it for months, and even contemplated buying one of the seasons on dvd to see if it was good, but i ended up not. then i saw it on tv on sunday, and i don't really know if i liked it or not. it had it's funny parts, but for the most part, it was real boring. i'll have to watch it sunday again, and try to decide whether i like it or not.

on the other hand, i also saw da ali g show for the first time on sunday too, and oh my god did i laugh. i loved every second of it.

You're retarted.
He never played a game in his life.
He definatly deserved all the credit he got.

Janeway 03-14-2006 06:23 PM

No, he didn't.
I would think being on CNN once or twice is enough credit.
But the president meeting him.
Yeah. It's a little much, and a lot of people are just laughing at him.
Plus, I'm sure he's played quite a bit, but he hasn't played on a team.

-TGP- 03-14-2006 06:24 PM

The president met him?

okay, yeah i didnt know this... im canadian.

PS. it was his 1st basketball game, ever.

Janeway 03-14-2006 06:25 PM

Yeah, public game.
But I'm positive the kid has shot hoops with his friends, before.
Plus he watched every practice and probably picked up some technique.

Win A Rabbit 03-14-2006 06:26 PM

i will guarantee right now that they're already in the process of making a movie on him.

-TGP- 03-14-2006 06:26 PM

well DUH.

Janeway 03-14-2006 06:28 PM

He's got like 30 movie deal offers.

Win A Rabbit 03-14-2006 06:34 PM

and his own basketball video game. man that would be cool. playing from his point of view. i'd buy it.

mysticalyeti 03-14-2006 06:35 PM

Arrgghh... Odery won't email me the discount I would get/if there are dealers around here (which I'm pretty sure there aren't)

I have such a hardon for Odery right now though... They are so godly sexy.

rockindrummer 03-14-2006 07:50 PM

See i've never heard of that kid. It does seem sort of rediculous though...

PremierManiac 03-14-2006 08:31 PM
See i've never heard of that kid. It does seem sort of rediculous though...
Rediculous in what way?

milkmit 03-14-2006 08:32 PM

saw the video a few weeks ago.. and yes, it was quite cool...especially since he missed his first 3 point attempt (which is what most people expected), but then turned it around and broke a record or something or other..

agreed that the kid deserves some recognition....but I nearly sighed myself to death when I read that the president met him. that's gotta rank right up there with showing up in louisiana two days late to pretend like he actually gives a flying f*ck about the people that lost their families and life's possessions after katrina.

...or like the time he held a "spontaneous" satellite video conference with the troops in iraq, but not before the dozen of them were hand-picked by their commanders for their blind bush loyalty and then briefed an hour in advance as to what questions were being asked and how they were expected to respond...

....or the many dozens of "town hall meetings" he's held across the country, where entire streets are blocked and closed off a day in advance, and the entire "town hall" crowd is very carefully screened to weed out those that are even midly critical of any of bush's utterly f*cked policies.

ugh. I'm just a weeeee bit of a rabid bush hater, I suppose.... ;)

Epiphender 03-14-2006 08:34 PM

I'm surprised you haven't changed your avatar yet.

PremierManiac 03-14-2006 08:36 PM

He tied his school's record for most 3's in a game.

...and on a slightly-related note, I just printed up a ton of informative impeachment fliers that will soon by hung on every telephone pole in my neighborhood. tomorrow I buy the stapler that will get the job done, and then on to this weekend for some local anti-Iraq-war protesting! :)
you probably don't even know what impeachment is do you? (quick, do a google search and give me a long, informative reply proving how you are so smart).
I hope you know that impeachment does absolutely nothing to get a President out of office (Bill Clinton was impeached, but people don't think he was because he fulfilled the entire term).

exactly...he was impeached but aquitted of his crimes....i still have the vivid memory of seeing the front page of the newspaper with the words in big bold letters..."AQUITED"

the only thing I've seen that big since was the front page on September 12, 2001

you're correct, I'm just another raving liberal lunatic with nothing better to do but b!tch about something -- anything!

I'm very well aware clinton was actually impeached, but wasn't removed from office because he was found not guilty in the later trials. the same is very likely to happen with bush even if he is impeached, given the republican majority in both the house and the senate (and especially because of how scared they are to dissent in the least)....but that doesn't mean it's not worth fighting for. at the VERY least, it will open a lot of eyes that are just too apathetic/ignorant/selfish to see what's really going on, and maybe then we can finally have some real, positive change for this country.

and no, I don't claim to be some sort of intellectual. I DO, however, take the time to keep myself informed with what's going on in this country and our world, and I'm not afraid to see things for what they are. nor am I selfish enough to shrug them off simply because they don't effect me directly. we can pretend like the war in iraq means nothing while we go on living our happy little lives here in the states, but in reality -- especially with the coming of globalization -- we're finally sowing what we've reaped with our 60+ years of selfish, greedy, and unjust foreign policy. bush's fight for "democracy" in iraq is not only an unrealistic insult (and yes, I was saying this long before we invaded), but also just another step in the same direction. when WILL we learn? WHAT will it take?

but anyway...back to the subject at hand. impeachment.
although it is very likely that bush & cheney will remain in power thanks in part to the little wall of protection they've erected around themselves (gonzales as attorney general? c'mon now! and rumsfield? rice? rove? do you know the history of these people??), I remain youthfully idealistic that perhaps, one day, facts will be taken as facts, the truth will not be ignored, and maybe, just MAYBE, we can see some real, sincere, indiscriminate justice.

bush & co., of course, wouldn't stand a chance if that day were to come, and you know it as well as I.

milkmit 03-14-2006 11:29 PM

ok, I'm done polluting this thread with "politics". if anyone wants to bash/flame/school me on anything, feel free to do so and I will humbly submit to your ***-whooping. I will also, however, let you have the last word, and will try my hardest to never again bring up such things in a drum forum, however off-topic this 'stronghold' thread may be. ;)

(yeah....let's see how well THAT goes!)
