If you like oldschool death metal, get Soulside Journey. Also, I really like Ravishing Grimness. |

**** it! I can't find that one! |
you can't find it on a blog? Its one of the most widely circulated bm albums of all time

Yeah, so it turns out I like Wodensthrone's Loss.
It may be considered 'hipster' but I think it's a pretty good bm release. |

Also, I really like Ravishing Grimness.
Thanks, and yes I love old school dm.:D Dimmu just seems so corny compared to the stuff I just got. Why did corny **** like that get popular instead of the stuff you guys are telling me about? Is it basically the reason core is getting more exposure in certain areas than real metal? I'm sorry if it's another stupid question. |

-core is a suffix for hardcore substyles and mixes.
It has nothing to do with real or fake metal, metalcore is just a mix of metal and hardcore. It's real metal and it used to be real hardcore, now more and more the hardcore element is going away and even influence lately, hence bands like Born Of Osiris being called, "deathcore." |

Speaking of this...I just saved a kid yesterday from checking out core bands. He was asking me about Whitechapel, and I ripped his face off (nicely) and introduced him to some great metal albums to get started with. He then realized why I told him to stay away from core. I think it's possible to keep some people away...but you're right it does appeal to a lot of people who aren't real metal fans. There are a lot of those posers at my school...it sucks. At least my ten year old brother can tell the difference between core and real metal. He chooses real metal every time without me having to help him one bit. I'm proud of my little metalhead bro. |
lol mappy has some work ahead of him.
|
You're an idiot. Holy ****.
Whitechapel is ****ing good, for one thing. And very much a "real" metal band. Listening to deathcore doesn't make you a poser. Thinking most deathcore has anything to do with hardcore and isn't metal makes you a retard though. SPIT IT BACK INTO YOUR FACE, HOW DOES IT TASTE? UNTIL THE LIPS ARE SEALED BENEATH YOUR WAIST YOU WILL NEVER **** AGAIN |

my little bro listens to ****ing green day and crap. I'm trying to get him into metal but it's not really working. Yeah whitechapel sucks dick, they're all breakdowns and no substance. **** them. |

 you're retarded.
@ Twelvegates |
they realized they can sell more albums by using a sound that more people will like. Basically they sacrificed their integrity.
exactly what I said. I'm not retarded. White chapel blows. |
Seriously, twelvegates. Whitechapel has a lot of breakdowns, yes, it's deathcore dummy. That doesn't mean they don't have tons of epic riffs, and substance to their music.
Plus their breakdowns are good as hell. And Phil Bozeman is one of the best vocalists I've ever heard. Like, it's cool and all that you think that hating anything with chuggy breakdowns will make you cooler and have better tastes, but in reality it just means you're an ignorant little **** who needs to get a clue. In other news, disliking hardcore is ****ing lame as ****. Blacklisted >>>>>>>>>>>>> any of the shitty bands Ssurno keeps talking about. |
I've seen phil live (yes core is all too common where I live), and he isn't very good. He has bad technique and you can hear it in his voice. Just because he alters his voice to sound good in studio, doesn't make him good.
|
He has great technique, you don't know what you're talking about, and he doesn't alter his voice, holy **** you're retarded. Vocals sound different through a PA and a stage mic, than they do through a pre-amp and a studio mic. It's very simple.
Also, you don't know what hardcore is, stop throwing the damn term around. Seriously, I'm a vocalist. I know what good and bad techniques sound like, don't get into this with me. |
next person to talk about whitechapel in the black metal thread gets banned for a day
|
Sorry for telling kids they're ****ing stupid Tyler. I'll take it to the deathcore thread.
|

Putting it on this page as a reminder. |

Blacklisted >>>>>>>>>>>>> any of the poopty bands Ssurno keeps talking about.
I haven't talked about any bands in like 5 pages dude, so what are you talking about? I even said dimmu is **** compared to the bands given to me by people here. I'm new to bm as I had said, you're just mad because I dislike core...I didn't even diss it. So leave me alone...Let's just back on topic, jeez.. |
ok so black metal
|
Yo kiddo, take it to the deathcore or hardcore or metalcore thread. I'll explain to you what hardcore actually is and why you're ignorant.
Also, black metal, Profantica any1? |
