So yea, we're working on the drum tracks for a rewritten version of "A Shade of Grey", anybody care to take a listen and let me know if you think we should use more double bass in both that one and "Burn" ?

http://myspace.com/condemnedindeathwerise

Sorry guys, I'm just stuck in a rut with the drums here......

Apocalyptic Raids 04-08-2006 12:44 AM

I can barely hear the drums most of the time.

Invicta_Veritas 04-08-2006 12:50 AM

Yea, I figured out how to fix that.......I figured out how to turn up the velocity on each piece of the kit in recording.....that, and we aren't going to eq the guitars and vocals near as high over the drums as we did in the demo version......

Our demo was also our crash course in recording and mixing........

Apocalyptic Raids 04-08-2006 12:51 AM

What amp and guitar are you using?

Invicta_Veritas 04-08-2006 12:54 AM

Ashland guitar and digitech pedal direct......no amp in recording. I use Peavey amps live though........It sounds thick and heavy as hell live, but we couldn't get it out in the demo.......we've made a lot of good adjustments though.......the 4th track on the site is a scratch track of guitar and some vocals......I think we've gotten the guitars a little thicker...

I don't have a compresser, so we cant run through the pedal and the amp into the computer because it creates massive distortion and feedback........

Like I said, we're just now getting good at this recording thing.

Stoic 04-08-2006 05:27 AM

Jev 04-08-2006 05:29 AM

Motorola Razr.

My mate who has it says it's not too good but this is my first phone in 4 years, so I'm happy.

Mr. Night V2.0 04-08-2006 05:51 AM

Phone's have always fascinated me. I mean they're a fashion accsessory now.

Stormrider 04-08-2006 06:35 AM

I'm not big on having a phone.

Anyways, hows everyone doing this morning ?

Apocalyptic Raids 04-08-2006 06:42 AM

I'm not really too big on phones either.

Mr. Night V2.0 04-08-2006 06:51 AM

I don't have a phone, I don't need one really.

I'm doing good today, I need to find a song to learn over easter, I'm writing a song, and I've got a few peices of art I want to finish.

the2stranger 04-08-2006 06:57 AM

i've never had a mobile phone, I don't like the feeling of being checked on everything I do.

i'm only on my 2nd phone ever, and i didn't have to pay for either of them. my dad gets contract phones, then upgrades his handset every year. i don't see the point in buying new "cool" phones just because you can though, my phone's purpose is to make calls / text people, as long as it does that i'm fine with it.

so, how is everyone today?

the2stranger 04-08-2006 09:05 AM

I'm fine, a bit bored though, MX is moving so slow lately :(
I should make myself useful by cleaning or something, but I don't feel like it.
I'm gonna make myself something to eat instead, I'm hungry

How are you yourself Josh?

I cant see the point either. Plus, your new cool and shinny phone will be considered old and out of fashion in a couple of months. Greekies are mad with mobile phones. Relatively few greekies have internet connection (and even fewer have broadband) but EVERYONE has AT LEAST one phone (latest technology usually).

I'm doing well. For the first time ever, I've been serious about learning some theory. Since yesterday night. I have been on that cyberfret site a looong time.

Things are going well now.

Hello Stoic. I was doing vocab the other day, and I found the work Stoic by accident. It had soemthing to do with Athens, I don't remember.

Just saying :p

Sleepy 04-08-2006 09:40 AM

Could someone recommend some theory sites for guitar and bass for me?

Thanks.

Stormrider 04-08-2006 09:41 AM

Cyberfret.com does it for me.

tch tch tch, you spend way too much time here kid

I was your age when I first felt like grabbing a guitar. Good times, I regret not having worked hard enough at that state.

Apocalyptic Raids 04-08-2006 09:48 AM

I don't work hard at my guitar playing either.
