Oh and I am not happy about the scientists being so irresponsible. Does anybody know what time they are doing it?

rid 09-09-2008 03:23 PM

masscows 09-09-2008 03:24 PM
*edit* they want to recreated the moments right after "the big bang"
oh yeah that's right

what a ****ing stupid idea

Daven 09-09-2008 03:24 PM

That particle thing sounds like funç

Id definitely do it if i could

Where can i read more about it?

Jev 09-09-2008 03:27 PM

They're not smashing anything into anything until the 21st of October.
tomorrows only firing a beam round it to see if it works.

rid 09-09-2008 03:28 PM

Jev 09-09-2008 03:29 PM

It could still go horribly wrong and explode the universe!!!!!!!!!

Dimmu Burger 09-09-2008 03:30 PM

Oh good we have a little more time.

rid 09-09-2008 03:31 PM

Daven 09-09-2008 03:34 PM

Thanks a lot man, that looks interesting

Eliminator 09-09-2008 03:34 PM
they're going to have two atoms going at 99.9% the speed of light, then make them crash, creating whatever. or a black hole and we all vanish. I think.

and yes, it's stupid.

*edit* they want to recreated the moments right after "the big bang"
what i love people that glance through some articles and throw together random tidbits to form excellent knowledges which they later drop and then get all the other idiots excited about these knowledges and it goes on from there

Dimmu Burger 09-09-2008 03:35 PM

I'm gonna start a band called Large Hadron Collider.

Tyler 09-09-2008 03:35 PM

i thought that big bang experiment had like a one in a megatrillion chance of backfiring

rid 09-09-2008 03:36 PM
what i love people that glance through some articles and throw together random tidbits to form excellent knowledges which they later drop and then get all the other idiots excited about these knowledges and it goes on from there
I love it too.

about 40% certain about what I said.

Eliminator 09-09-2008 03:37 PM

it does

and im pretty sure its purpose isn't to "recreate the big bang" like rid said lol

rid 09-09-2008 03:38 PM
it does

and im pretty sure its purpose isn't to "recreate the big bang" like rid said lol
actually that I AM sure about. well the moments right after it, not the big bang itself.

Dimmu Burger 09-09-2008 03:38 PM

I read about it on G4's The Feed and they explained it well, with the percent chances of different things happening.

Eliminator 09-09-2008 03:39 PM
actually that I AM sure about. well the moments right after it, not the big bang itself.
Dimmu Burger 09-09-2008 03:40 PM

rid 09-09-2008 03:42 PM
yeah collisions the size of two mosquitos hitting each other

the world will end
from their site, fag:

"Two beams of subatomic particles called 'hadrons' – either protons or lead ions – will travel in opposite directions inside the circular accelerator, gaining energy with every lap. Physicists will use the LHC to recreate the conditions just after the Big Bang, by colliding the two beams head-on at very high energy. "

Tyler 09-09-2008 03:44 PM

they should do it in NJ instead of NY because nobody would miss NJ

Eliminator 09-09-2008 03:44 PM

yeah i definitely refuted that point up there thanks for correcting me

Dimmu Burger 09-09-2008 03:44 PM

That's a horrible idea.

Permanent Solution 09-09-2008 07:08 PM

So today at the CD shop I realized I have an extensive music-to-buy list and a decent books-to-read list, but I have no movies-to-see list. So...give me some recommendations plz.

Top movies for me include V for Vendetta, Pulp Fiction, Star Wars, Serenity, Minority Report, The Matrix, etc.
