check out some Shawn Lane videos too...

You can tell that Shawn Lane and Buckethead have practiced together

eug008 10-06-2006 08:41 AM

Shawn Lane =

His instructional video is just insane.

repcak 10-06-2006 08:49 AM

i saw some Shawn Lane videos but they weren't good... or well... not my style of playing... but maybe i should watch some instructional lessons.

... i'm off, now... -> real life ;)

edit: Kurrpt you have to listen to Welcome to Bucketland!! This song is sooo fukking GREAT!!!!

unknownsoldier12 10-06-2006 08:50 AM

his music really isn't my bag, but that wasn't the motive behind me recommending his videos

MRDuCran 10-06-2006 11:04 AM
worked through a large portion of that tab last night, and I must say, JOB WELL DONE...

now we just have to coerce you into doing some more CoB tabs
Beat you to it. I've already corrected/tabbed a lot of their stuff by myself.

unknownsoldier12 10-06-2006 12:17 PM

sorry, I should have said "tabs for songs that I'm currently interested in learning"

COUGHbodombeachterrorCOUGH

MRDuCran 10-06-2006 01:27 PM

I didn't tab it but it's near perfect.

unknownsoldier12 10-06-2006 01:28 PM

any way i could convince you to export that again for me

MRDuCran 10-06-2006 01:45 PM

unknownsoldier12 10-06-2006 01:54 PM

damn skippy DuCran :D

I waited till my girl went to bed, and played along with that other tab for about 2 hours, getting it pefect...

I've been anxious to learn this one. Hopefully i get the other done tomorrow, so i can start on this one.

I owe ya

MRDuCran 10-06-2006 02:04 PM

Did you compare my version of the interlude to the other tabs?? And see hwo much easier mine is. I should be saying the correct way because it's the way Alexi has been playing it since he wrote it. I was amazing when I realised how much easier to really is.

unknownsoldier12 10-06-2006 02:38 PM

yea, of course.

I always had a good ear, so i could tell even before I went home and tried it.

the intro was slightly different (better) as well as the sweeps, which were more logical

MRDuCran 10-06-2006 03:07 PM

The intro is actually perfect. I watched about 5 live videos of Roope so I could see where he played it. The open B string could be the 4th fret on the G string but it'd be easier to pull off so maybe that's what he's doing and that's how I'd play it so I just put it there. But it's all the right notes at least.

unknownsoldier12 10-06-2006 03:11 PM

I'm sold on it, if thats what you mean

MRDuCran 10-06-2006 03:23 PM

What's that mean?

unknownsoldier12 10-06-2006 03:43 PM

meaning, I think you are an ace tabber, and I will specifically ask you for DuCran approved tabs when I go to learn more CoB songs :thumb:

MRDuCran 10-06-2006 03:46 PM

Haha awesome. I'll definitely be happy to do that. I love tabbing, as long as it's something I want to do though and CoB obviously counts.

unknownsoldier12 10-06-2006 03:59 PM

dude, just FYI...

Ignore atman and his entourage. It's not worth your breath, or added effort it takes to argue with him, considering you can't win even if you're right.

MRDuCran 10-06-2006 04:12 PM

Yeah I know. I don't get stressed while replying to him, I just enjoy keeping him going. That Joshisnumber3 fag is an eggo wannabe, he needs to sort it out too.

repcak 10-07-2006 07:33 AM

i looked at my time-table and i will have only a few lectures ... so i will learn less for the next half year, but will have more time to play guitar :D

hm... lets see... maybe i will manage to play 4-6hours daily

eug008 10-07-2006 07:41 AM

whoa, I could never play guitar for 6 hours any day.

Maybe 3 hours if I really get into it but that'd be a rare occasion.

repcak 10-07-2006 08:11 AM

i meant 4-6 hours, breaks included.

i normally play at least 2hours, but mostly 2/3-4hours daily.

in the last august-week i played 6-8hous daily :D great time ... i made big steps forward!

eug008 10-07-2006 08:19 AM

I know. That's still quite a fair bit though. I usually play for up to an hour then stop, and then do it again. 90% + of the time I'm just messing around learning random stuff, not doing any certain exercises or anything. I should get into doing exercises etc. sometime.

repcak 10-07-2006 09:06 AM

first of all i warm up for ~ 15-30min; afterwards i learn/practise songs; if i get bored i practise some techniques, exercises, licks, then go back to learn/practise songs, etc. etc.

and if i am really (!) bored i just play random things, and try to come up with a nice riff or lick i could use for a song (in the future)

blue3 10-07-2006 09:57 AM

You guys are insane. I don';t play guitar daily anymore.. :(

Apocalyptic Raids 10-07-2006 10:02 AM

Yeah I actually used my amp for the first time in two weeks today.

repcak 10-07-2006 10:09 AM

well i have't played guitar since more than two weeks... and it will be longer... :(

metalhead_matt 10-07-2006 01:04 PM

how do ya think alexi's guitar is EQ'd then, for the tokyo warhearts live album, and same question for the FTR album.
im doing some recordings at college, need to try and match the tone
well i have't played guitar since more than two weeks... and it will be longer... :(
its your wrist isnt it? what did you actually do to it?

AA-12 10-07-2006 01:28 PM

High mids, high treble, and lows in the middle.

repcak 10-07-2006 01:28 PM

yeah its my wrist... its getting better but i'm still not able to play guitar.

i try not to move my wrist - that's the only thing i can do.
