Borders, and no, I will not upload it for you. There's like 4 discs.

It isn't as good as you'd think. There is a cool Cpt. Beefheart song though ;).
Captain Beefhart is the man. One of a total of 2 people that fits into the Frank Zappa genre (Frank Zappa did produce him afterall)

Hows everybody doing? I hung out with a very large amount of emo kids last night. I got dragged along to a show, which wasn't as bad as I thought it would be. The first band was just like Billy Talent basically, the third band was kinda just catchy uplifting tunes (not in the true emo fashion)

But the second band was amazing. No one had ever heard of them, and they played the most experimental music I've ever heard live. They had a really good bass/keyboard player, and their guitarist was usually playing more like sounds, than licks. Great band. They kinda reminded me of earlier Floyd, like Interstellar Overdrive. I don't think anyone liked it but me and one other classic rock lover. All the emo kids were like "what the hell is this?" and I was just going crazy.

Anyone ever seen a really really good unheard of band before? This is a first for me.

jpj 02-06-2005 02:57 PM

So you don't know the name of the band?

thickasabrick 02-06-2005 03:02 PM

They were called Numbers Hate Letters. I think they were mostly just a local band, although they were opening for a fairly well known band (it was their last show).

Man I was just looking for this thread, and I saw the other Classic Rock thread with a big lock on it, and I thought it was this one. I almost crapped myself, I thought a mod closed this thread.

Walrus Gumboot 02-06-2005 03:03 PM

Are you in a big (ish) city, thickasabrick? My location (the woods) makes it difficult to see new bands :/

Haha if they colsed this thread we would have to gather the pitchforks, light the torches, and angry-village-ify the suspected mod(s)

Simple Man 02-06-2005 03:06 PM

CSNY is great.

thickasabrick 02-06-2005 03:06 PM

Well I live in Regina Sk. So about 200 thousand people. The band they were opening for was called Despistado if you've heard of them, they tour a lot, although usually not very big venues. They are from Regina, and they have a message board on the web, and I noticed they have come to Texas enough to have a following there...so they must get around North America quite a bit.

edit- and I agree with you Simple Man. Favourite song?

Badmoon 02-06-2005 03:25 PM

I'm posting another Dr. John song. I don't think any of you listened to the first one I posted.

I was born in 90, that's barely not the 80's.
