Ah, just played a metal gig :)

Our Creeping Death cover went well :)

We got the '1, 2, 3, 4!' count in with the crowd, Metallica style, and dropped it down to just bass and drums in the breakdown until everyone was shouting DIE

:smash:
Awesome. The crowds round here would never do that, they suck.
But still next time we play we're covering McFly, Europe and Bon Jovi
I got scared then.
Apparently we're only allowed 4 smileys per post. I thought MX was broked.

Britton 11-15-2005 01:57 AM

Which upload was it where James is all excited about the 1234 part?

Joe 11-15-2005 10:09 AM
Oh I don't know, that's the one that starts off on the G string at the 21st fret right?
Nope. It's the 12th track on the Black Album.

/think to self "12th?!?! It's so much better than 12th"

------------------------17-----|-15----17------------------------|
-------------------------------|---------------------------------|
-------------------------------|---------------------------------|
-------------------------------|---------------------------------|
-------------------------------|---------------------------------|

but the rest is easy

I thought that was pretty easy. Mind you, a lot of my solos have bits like that in.

Joe 11-15-2005 10:47 AM

Ok, well none of mine do really, at least at that speed

The new show is pretty awesome. It doesn't really sound like James in the Four Horsemen but it's all pretty awesome. It's in december 83, so those were the Kirk days. A lot of RTL is on there, minus Fade to Black :(

fatbandit 11-15-2005 10:50 AM

Aye, he does the 1, 2, 3, 4 bit in a '94 show in London Astoria I have too. I assume they do it a fair bit?

Is this Creeping Death? They do that all the time for Creeping Death

Jev 11-15-2005 10:53 AM

I've only seen them do it once Live.
Is it on Cunning Stunts.
Ps. Fat Bandit
< old avatar is back.

Joe 11-15-2005 11:01 AM

Wahoo! I want my old avatar.. but it's Kirk Hammett

/everyone will think I'm a fanboy...

I've heard it in various live shows, including the one I was at :D

No go on, bring it back. I've forgotten what it looks like.

fatbandit 11-15-2005 11:15 AM

They don't do it on Cunning Stunts AFAICR.

And yes, old avatar > pseudo ninja

:smash:

Doctor Night 11-15-2005 12:39 PM
Dude, what? No way. Newsted is alot better than bob.

Unless you meant Rob, well then yes you were right.
Yep, Rob, not Bob Rock.

lightningmetal666 11-15-2005 12:50 PM

I'm not sure why, but I keep dreading having to play guitar to Sanitarium. Maybe those last changeups are messing with me a little too much.

I can't stop playing that. I love it.

lightningmetal666 11-15-2005 01:06 PM
I can't stop playing that. I love it.
I thought I was playing it just fine until I was playing it in my GB class. Then I realized I really suck at playing it. I get up until after the second chorus and then I sound like sh*t.:upset:

Jev 11-15-2005 01:12 PM

I can play Sanitarium fine, I love playing the bit after the fast solo.

lightningmetal666 11-15-2005 01:17 PM
I can play Sanitarium fine, I love playing the bit after the fast solo.
I probably just need some more practice I guess.

this part is really cool:

e:--
b:--
g:--
d:--
a:--7-7-7-5-7-7/9---9-9-9-7-9-10-9-8---8-8-8-10-8h10p8/7-6---6-6-6-7-9e:--

You get the idea.

Jev 11-15-2005 01:22 PM

Yeah, that's the bit I love playing.

lightningmetal666 11-15-2005 01:25 PM
Yeah, that's the bit I love playing.
Yeah it's pretty awesome. The solo that follows isn't all that bad actually. Those cool slides at the end of it sound great.:thumb:

I would go to a Metallica concert just to hear that part...where theres thousands of people screaming DIE!...that should be amazing.

I get a shiver down me spine just listening to that part on Live Sh*t (if it is loud enough of course). I think my spine would just melt if I was at a show where they played creeping death.

Stormrider 11-15-2005 02:41 PM

Yeah, and they make it last about 5 minutes. Theres Creaping Death on cunning stunts but i dunno if they extend it for a long time. Cool dvd though...

PepsiMetal 11-15-2005 02:58 PM

Yea they do that 1-2-3-4 count on all live vids I've seen. They did it in Rock in Rio, seattle concert which was 99 I think, and few others I've witnessed on my pc.

And I also love when they stop and only bass keeps going while people chant DIE, DIE, DIE. Sweet stuff.

Joe 11-15-2005 03:01 PM
I can play Sanitarium fine, I love playing the bit after the fast solo.
Me too, it's my favorite part of that song and one of my favorite riffs all time of Metallica
And I also love when they stop and only bass keeps going while people chant DIE, DIE, DIE. Sweet stuff.
By my hand!

metalmilitia101 11-15-2005 04:36 PM

god i love my school.

so anyway today i walked in to history class and like 4 kids were drumming the 1234567 fast double bass part from the song one on the table, so i joined in and we were singing and all and then i did the drum parts while some other kid hummed rythm and another hummed lead...yeahah. hopless :D then in english class, this kid was asked to fix the projector but he couldnt so he was like DIE and then i'm like BY MY HAND and everyone started singing it and flying the eagle wings muaha it was lovely.

Kyle 11-15-2005 04:43 PM

my school is more of a G-unit type of school. Metallica are forbidden.
