Fair enough - didn't realise I'd upset you so much. Just didn't want you to think that I'd repped you for liking a gay band. I'm off now - you obviously have a lotmore patience with Ctrl + V than I do. Is that Dark Tranquility album better than there last ones? Can't be bothered to try and download if it's going to be crap. Anywhere near The Gallery? |
Good luck with your midterms.
That songs amazing. Is it like techno?
Well he records the original guitars, drums, bass, etc himself, but yeah, there's a lot of electronics used to order the samples of what he records and add other noises and vocal clips. Frank Klepacki is the guy who did (perhaps still does, I'm not sure) the music for the C&C games, and I got a soundtrack disc when I bought the first C&C waay back in 1995 or so.
Is that Dark Tranquility album better than there last ones? Can't be bothered to try and download if it's going to be crap. Anywhere near The Gallery?
Well Ramsey says so, as does Pigs, and a fair few people who I didn't recognise. I'm downloading it now (I've got a pretty good connection and it's still going to take 30 minutes or more), but I'm not the world's greatest authority on Dark Tranquillity. |

You didn't upset me, I overreacted and I admit it. Those posts can be very annoying, I admit. Sorry Jon. Lets forget this ever happened. Anyways---if you want an At The Gates, return to gothenburg roots sound----this is the album. Its pure old school Gothenburg Death/Thrash/Melodic. Nothing like Damage Done. I haven't heard the Gallery, but i'v heard some people say this is better than the Gallery, so there ya go. |
I hate gothenburg.
|
I tried to rep you Jon to apologize, but I need to spread the love again. :-/
Well, i'm sorry for the trouble anyways. |
Another 4 Cd's bought. :upset:

|
The Saw and the Damage done.
|
Hey thread
23 minutes on my first taste of Dark Tranquility - what can I expect? |
The Saw and the Damage done.
Ah okay. Anyway, more CDs can't be bad :) Can it? Besides, my Amazon order finally arrived yesterday. I'm so poor now, so I'm trying to convince myself that more CDs can't be bad, heh. |
Hey thread
23 minutes on my first taste of Dark Tranquility - what can I expect?
I'm not sure. I'm four tracks in and nothing has particularly struck me yet. It's not bad, just not world-slaying. Having said that, this fourth one seems pretty good so far. |
Ah okay.
Anyway, more CDs can't be bad :) Can it? My Amazon order finally arrived yesterday. I'm so poor now.
More CDs are always good :) Probably going to try and get myself another one courtesy of ebay tonight. What did you get again? |
Just a lot of CDs. Nothing tr00, though. Not even any metal really, with the exception of Watchtower.
|
Anything I like?
|
I don't know. Give me a little while, I'll write out a list.
You might like Watchtower. Really technical progressive metal. The only problem I can find with them is the vocalist; I love Bruce Dickinson, Rob Halford (what I know, anyway), and I really enjoy 3 Inches of Blood's ridiculously high vocals, but Watchtower are rather like Spiral Architect in that they've managed to find a breed of vocalist who annoys the living hell out of me. Great music though, I'll upload a track or two in a bit if you like (once I'm finished with this Frank Klepacki). |
Sure, I don't usually like high vocals though, but there are a few exceptions.
Like Rhapsody, I borrowed Symphony of Enchanted lands the other day. |
Nice. Whose copy is it?
|
The Mrs.
|
And do you like it (beyond the cover art :))?
List; Post-list writing addition - most of these don't even really belong in R&M :-/ Bob Dylan - The Times They Are A-Changin' Bonnie "Prince" Billy - I See a Darkness Clara Rockmore - The Art of the Theremin Einstürzende Neubauten - Strategies Against Architecture Gang of Four - Entertainment! Jaco Pastorius - Jaco Pastorius Johnny Cash - At Folsom Prison Magazine - The Correct Use of Soap The Pogues - Rum, Sodomy and the Lash Rob Dougan - Furious Angels Saetia - A Retrospective Serge Gainsbourg - Histoire De Melody Nelson Solomon Burke - Don't Give Up On Me U.N.K.L.E - Psyence Fiction Watchtower - Control and Resistance Yusef Lateef - The Blue Yusef Lateef |
Yes, it's pretty good. Emerald Sword is awesome, of course, and some other songs are very catchy as well. Sometimes the music is a bit overpowered by Keyboards and Symphony, though. There are a lot of moments you can't even hear the guitar.
It is also very nerdy, but it's fun to listen to, it's a faerie tale that they tell. Enjoyable, but not all songs are as good as Emerald Sword. |
More Bob Dylan and Johnny Cash, I see. Einstürzende Neubauten should be interesting as well, can't say I know a lot about the rest, though. :)

How I envy you being able to buy that many CDs at a time :( |
Well Amazon had a sale on. Bob Dylan, Neubauten, Gang of Four, Jaco Pastorius, Johnny Cash, Magazine and Rob Dougan were all £5.97 or less, I think. Magazine was actually only £3.33. Most of the others were £7.99, and the most expensive was £11.99, I think.
Anyway, that was 50% or so of January's food budget. And 50% of February's went on that Wildhearts vinyl I won, and now I'm debating bidding on this rare boxed set thing.. Stupid eBay. |
But how can you blame ebay when it's so good to you?
|

Thanks, I'll download it now, listen later, first listen to my cd's. |
I need to get Symphony X - The Oddysey. Im obsses with Symphony X at the minute.
