Wow - Layla has to be one of the best songs of all time. I love that lead guitar line - and the vocals are so passionate! The drums just suit the song so well!

Who plays the lead guitar? Is it Eric Clapton or Duanne Allman?

xxxRoCkJuNkiExxx 04-26-2005 08:24 PM
He's basiclly saying Im better than you because I go to church.
No, he feels that he is correct. He doesn't feel he's better than you, just correct. I feel the same way; it's my belief. I'm sure you have yours.

BlackDeathMetalJazz or really ANYTHING else please- 04-26-2005 08:57 PM

Im right and you're wrong? Is this what you and him are saying?

Badmoon 04-26-2005 09:00 PM

Unless your beliefs are the same as mine, then yes I believe he and I have the correct thoughts reguarding religion.

But it's our belief. Is this new to you?

Badmoon 04-26-2005 09:01 PM
Yes it was.
He's saying well I go church so me and my friends won't die but your's will and I don't sin. How the **** is that not offinsive?!?!?

magicbus 04-26-2005 09:10 PM

CSNY - 4 Way Street came out in 1971!

Speaking of that, can anybody send it to me? ;)

Badmoon 04-26-2005 09:32 PM
He's saying well I go church so me and my friends won't die but your's will and I don't sin. How the **** is that not offinsive?!?!?
I'm not saying it is not offensive to you, but I do not think you are understanding it.
go church so me and my friends won't die
Won't die? What?

Fall = lose faith/go to Hell

And he is not stating that because he “goes to church” he and his friends will go to Heaven. He believes that they will go to Heaven, because they accept and most likely support/share his belief. For if they didn't, he would not consider them a friend. As he said, "for what is a friend who would want you to fall".

BlackDeathMetalJazz or really ANYTHING else please- 04-26-2005 11:13 PM

So if you don't share the same belief to hell with you?

clown_phobia 04-26-2005 11:53 PM

in your opinion, what song has Eric Clapton's best guitar playing?

White Room has a great solo.

Against Miik! 04-27-2005 12:16 AM

White Room sounds cool, but it's all D minor pentatonic with a wah. It is, however, still one of my favorite.

BlackDeathMetalJazz or really ANYTHING else please- 04-27-2005 01:31 AM
I wish they made some psychedelic albums, Pet Sounds was the closest they came. I know Brian Wilson did acid.
I have not heard them but Smilely Smile and Friends are both sopposed to be psychedelic.
White Room has a great solo.
In 30 years when Radiohead< Tool and bands like become "classic rock" will sabbath and the stones be "classic classic rock"?

Illmatic 04-27-2005 11:38 AM
in your opinion, what song has Eric Clapton's best guitar playing?
I've been partial to "Crossroads" and the Unplugged version of "Tears in Heaven" myself.
In 30 years when Radiohead< Tool and bands like become "classic rock" will sabbath and the stones be "classic classic rock"?
No.

lunch998 04-27-2005 12:43 PM

I'd agree on Crossroads, and I'm a sucker for the wah on Tales of Brave Ulysses.

Broken Arrow 04-27-2005 12:55 PM

I'd go Crossroads too.

I voted Clapton.

Badmoon 04-27-2005 12:59 PM
So if you don't share the same belief to hell with you?
Well, technically yes. But hey, I wouldn't mind if He showed a little sympathy towards you.

Dylan and Deep Purple in the same week? Sounds like a good gig. I had plans to go to the purple concert with 4 friends, but nobody wants to drive to scranton or atlantic city (each way 2 1/2 hours). I dont see why they couldnt just play in Philly. They seem to be going right around it.
