Janeway 01-21-2006 03:26 PM

Oh god. I feel like bawling.
My teacher and I had a heart to heart convorsation. I don't want him to go.
:.:
Crap.

On another note, I'm peeved because Top Shelf Music sold the bass I wanted.
It was a smaller sized one so I could play it like a guitar and piss everyone off.

Epiphender 01-21-2006 03:29 PM

Trev 01-21-2006 05:18 PM

Uh oh, watch out. Ahead have unveiled a new series of metal snare drums at NAMM.

Panopticon 01-21-2006 05:19 PM

for real?

Trev 01-21-2006 05:25 PM

Indeed. According to Mike Dolbear:
Famed for their aluminium sticks, Ahead have ventured into a new area. On the Ahead stand were some new metal snares. Now, I must admit to not being tremendously excited by the prospect of another new snare drum, but at the risk of sounding like an advert… “That was before I heard it!”. The shells are very thin and are 14” or 13” x 6” in black chrome over brass. They have tube lugs, Fat Cat snares (with the adjustable tension inner wires), S-Hoops (triple flange hoops with a larger top flange angled over the bearing edge, which sound more like cast hoops), Tight Screw tension rods (which have an insert of nylon to guarantee they never de-tune) and a choice of Dunnett or Trick throw offs. Now, on paper, they should sound good, but I think that Gerry and I decided they were they best snare we had heard so far at NAMM. When the person who was showing us them first hit one, a guy who was passing stopped and came over and asked what the snare was as it sounded ‘incredible!’. It is stupidly loud (making us blink in a hall with 20m high ceilings) but also REALLY musical. One to check out.
Panopticon 01-21-2006 05:26 PM

something good out of ahead?!...oh my!

styler 01-21-2006 05:45 PM

oh my, im gonna have to hear it to believe it, soon they will be coming out with metal heads, aluminum hydro's and aluminum pinstripes....bastards!

osiecki 01-21-2006 05:46 PM

Got some new heads today

Toms - Evans Coated G2 over G1 [10, 12, 14]
Snares - Coated Amb over Clear Amb [14, 14]
Bass - Aquarian Superkick II/Regulator

styler 01-21-2006 05:47 PM

awesome man, hows the superkick sound?

Janeway 01-21-2006 05:55 PM
All of them.

It was an old Kay.
The place only sells vintage instruments, and I think it was like $870.

osiecki 01-21-2006 05:55 PM

Didn't put 'em on yet. I'm gonna wait til my new room is done, because the reason I got new heads is because the ones on my drums right now were stretched because of lack of usage because I just moved, and my new room should be done in a week or two. Also, the acoustics in this room aren't so good.

But I've played on a Superkick II before, and it sounded sweet, so yeah.

styler 01-21-2006 05:57 PM

awesome man, congratulations on your new room.

Panopticon 01-21-2006 06:00 PM

Stronghold is getting pwned tonight...so slow...

styler 01-21-2006 06:03 PM

your getting pwned tonight scott.

i own you.

Janeway 01-21-2006 06:04 PM

It is.
My parents bought an exercise bike tonight.
I dodged out to the bookstore next door. I read a lovely lesbian erotica book for about 15 minutes and my lovely old science teacher stumbled upon me.
She had a huge shit eating grin on her face.

styler 01-21-2006 06:06 PM

she was thinking about touching you? or taking a **** and eating it?is having a **** eating grin a good thing or a bad thing :( pity me, im canadian.

Janeway 01-21-2006 06:11 PM

Um...I think it was because I was reading something inappropriate.
I hope she wasn't thinking about touching me.
She's a little...um...hideous.

Josiah 01-21-2006 06:11 PM

Surfing kicks ***.

Janeway 01-21-2006 06:13 PM

Does it hurt as bad to fall in the water?
I mean, less than it does to fall off a skateboard onto concrete?

Drum Phil 01-21-2006 06:18 PM
Indeed. According to Mike Dolbear:
