Yea I was just thinking about Arthur too.
It's really starting to grow on me. Great concept album. It covers Britain during wartime, English childhoods, and the Australia colony. It's like a British history lesson. |
How many albums did the Kinks have?
30+ |
Wow. I'm not very educated about the Kinks. All I have is Lola and Rats on 45s.

It's like a British history lesson.
Yea true. I think Lola has a great concept too though. Especially for the time it came out. |

They released extremely good albums during 67-73, and many have never heard of them. |

dont feel bad. all i have is something else by the kinks. |

Yeah, but Arthur gives a more subtle, intelligent way of presenting the concept. Lola clearly states it's concept. |
My dad listens to them, so that's where I got it.

Could you name some more than the ones you and lunch already mentioned? I'd like to check them out. |

The Kinks Are The Village Green Preservation Society Arthur(Or The Decline And Fall Of The British Empire) Lola vs. Powerman and the Moneygoround Pt. 1 Three amazing Kinks albums. |
The Kinks s/t, Kinda Kinks, Face to Face are the earlier albums. The ones me and Stock named are pretty much the best Kinks albums though.
What about Schoolboys in Disgrace?
That is a good album too
That's a later one, 75 I believe. Here's another great Kink's album: Muswell Hill-billys |
What about Schoolboys in Disgrace?
That is a good album too
Yea it is, but I tend to lose interest in their late 70's and 80's material. |
I really need some Kinks, I forgot to look for them today when I was CD shopping.
And didn't someone say Willie and The Poor Boys was hard to find? I saw it at Best Buy today, but didn't have enough for it and The Allmans. |

Mick Avory, drummer for the Kinks, is a really great classic rock drummer. He did a lot for rock drumming but is usually unheard of. |
I'm not a very big fan of 80's rock.

Because it's boring generic arena rock. |

Oh well it's a CD store where you can find almost any CD you want and buy for like $7 rather than the typical $15 |
Do you all send music on AIM? or some other way?
