Meh, in my opinion St. Anger's a decent album, if I'm going to put ...AJFA in their best of, St. Anger will be there too.

I thought St. Anger was 8 years too late. They should have released St. Anger in 96, instead of the "Load" abomination.

Its ridiculous how many n00bs come into this thread and say "Their first four albums were okay, after that they werent that good"

I said the 1st four albums were masterpieces.... which is synonymous with great, outstanding, spectacular,etc... Where did I say they were just okay?

Metallica will always be a great live band.... but the "Black" album has not aged as well as the first four.... and Load, Reload and St. Anger are all sub-par, dumbed-down and mediocre.

Its not what you said about the earlier albums that upset him. Every single Metallica album was good in its own right. I never met anyone who didnt like the Black album

I don't like the Black album anymore. I liked it when it first came out in 1991... I was 18 at the time, but that album has not aged well. Now in the 21st century, I'll occassionally dig out Master of Puppets and Justice for some great musical enjoyment... but when I try to listen to the Black album, it just sounds LAME to me. I never listen to it. I can't listen to it.

Give me Battery and Blackened over Enter Sandman and St. Anger ANY DAY OF THE WEEK.

It's nothing to do with age. Most people will agree with the statement that you made. It's just along with such topics as Dave Mustaine, this one is brought up most.

Does anyone have a preference between The Four Horsemen and Megadeth's Mechanix? I personally prefer The Four Horseman, just because the lyrics fit the music better.
