Well "I don't know how you expcet to stop the war if you can't sing any louder the that" is a pretty convincing argument. I can just imagine everybody in the theather watching the movie when it came out singing along. |
i Haven't seen that movie in a long time, i might think of buying it soon, but im trying not to spend my money on cds and movies to save for a new drum set. I'm not good at saving my money. :upset:

Yeah dude I would hold out for the new drum set. I mean I stopped buying all the shit I normally do for a while to save up for my guitar, and its paid off since because I use my guitar more then anything. |

what set do you have right now. because if its salvageable with new heads and good tuning i would get the movie. alot can be improved by simple tuning and new heads. |
I like his song I Fell Like I'm Fixin to Die Rag, thats probally my favorite anti war song because of the humor.
That's a classic song:) Does anyone like the Beach Boys? I love them. |

Does anyone like the Beach Boys? I love them.
Eh I respect them for Pet Sounds, but eh the whole surfer, "love your school just like your women" and the Full House apperences arn't really my thing Though I've heard some weird stuff about them that sounds interesting, didn't they know Charles Manson or somthing. |

ya im don't care that much about em anymore but they're songs are still amusing. |
Whats up, I'm new around here and a big classic rock fan. I'm 16, and because the music people listened to was so bad a few years ago, I pretty much stopped listening to any music for the last few years until last year. I rediscovered classic rock, bought a bunch of CD's, an ipod, and am now a diehard classic rock fan. My favorite bands, The Who, The Beatles, Bob Dylan, The Rolling Stones, Pink Floyd... have all been mentioned countless times, so I won't start a discussion on them. I would like to ask if any of you like The Who By the Numbers. As I already mentioned, I love the Who and decided to buy this CD a week ago despite mediocre reviews. It is indeed a little different, but I think it's a kickass CD. I mean, I love Quadrophenia, but all those keyboards and synthesizers get a little annoying after a while. This is stripped of most of that, and has mostly just singing, guitar, bass, and drums. I would strongly recommend it if you like the Who. :D

great songwriters but theyre not my thing. ive tried to like them. really.

its a good album. one of my favorite if only for johns bass playing through it all and especially on dreaming from the waist. |
My mom loves the Beach Boys. I never go out of my way to listen to them, but they are enjoyable.
|
My dad used to love them, so I bought him a 2 disc greatest hits package like 6 years ago, and he's probably listened to it only once or twice. I personally find them annoying but they did make important contributions to music.

I was never in love with it, though I do like Slip Kid. |
I was never in love with, though I do like Slip Kid.
It's not their best, Daltrey's voice wasn't in top form, Townsend was always drunk or stoned or worse, and Moon's drumming was beginning to decline. Entwhistle is always great though. I think the lyrics are the strongest point though. It is not a rock opera but some songs are extremely personal like However Much I Booze and How Many Friends. You have to listen to it in context and not compare it to the Who's best stuff. Judge it by itself. |
I almost always prefer the earlier Who to the later Who, but as I said in this thread a few days ago the arena-rock Who is somewhat growing on me.

how unfortunate. |
That's a classic song:)
Does anyone like the Beach Boys? I love them.
I really like the Beach Boys. I've got a couple of their albums, and a few of their Greatest Hits albums. I actually own 3 of their greatest hits albums (2 vinyl, 1 cd)...which is really more Greatest Hits than anyone should need. But they are a great band. I really adore their vocal melodies and harmonies, in terms of actual musicianship they really aren't that impressive. I wish they made some psychedelic albums, Pet Sounds was the closest they came. I know Brian Wilson did acid. |

We still love you. And don't worry. it's still The Who you're listening to. |
hey im new here. I love the Who! They've been my favorite band since 5th grade (im 14 now). I love most of their songs. My Holy Trinity of classic rock is the who, the doors, and the rolling stones.
You could sink to the point of listening to KISS.
*shudder*
I don't even want to think about that. /goes to listen to the arena-rock Who, and it very grateful for it. |

*shudder*
Whoa, let's not say anything we're going to regret here. |
haha  lets face it the who are just plain good.
|
Just plain very good.
|
I just listened to Behind Blue Eyes, Won't Get Fooled Again, Love Reign O'er Me, and Who Are You. They all rule. Don't worry.

I never saw the greatness in Behind Blue Eyes or Who Are You. However, Won't Get Fooled Again makes up for all that and much more with its awesomeness. But seriously, enough of this arena rock. /listens to Cobwebs and Strange. |
Who Are You is a pretty weak song compared to other Who standards.
|
pfft who are you is awesome you fools.
