How about Karp?
I do now. Thank you spiff.

Mr. Pickle 06-02-2009 02:03 AM

So far the V for Vendetta book/graphic novel/whatever is pretty shitty compared to the movie.

Epidemechanical 06-02-2009 02:04 AM

ya graphic novels are dumb as ****

Mr. Pickle 06-02-2009 02:04 AM

I like Watchmen. :(

Cheers fella. Maybe I will when I have my new audio interface purchased.

Did you catch the Super 14 final? Brutal :(.

Playing in any bands at the moment?

Yeah man get it asap, I remember hearing your stuff years ago, and it was sweeet :)

Was that where some team lost like 60 - 14 or something? I don't really follow rugby, if anything I follow soccer, and I don't even follow that :p

Yup, joined a band a few months ago. They had about ten songs written for drum and guitars. And I've learnt about half of them and we've written two more songs since I've joined. Lol but we're looking for a singer, and prob won't gig for about 6 months even with all the songs we've got.

How about you?

gaslight 06-02-2009 03:01 AM

Haha yeah man the Chiefs got rooted. Finding a good rock singer is incredibly difficult I find.

A band I was in a while ago is putting out an EP of our old songs when the mixes are redone. I'll keep you posted as to when that's done. I'm keen to do a few guitar/vocal duo tracks with a few singers I know.

Convectuoso 06-02-2009 03:06 AM

Haha I knew I had heard about it at college.

and hell yeah...Jesus some of the auditions have been so hilarious.

Some people who responded to a poster eventually said "Ya know what, I think I'm too lazy to be in a band."

Lol what kind of attitude towards music is that?

I'd be really interested in hearing both the ep and your guitar/vocal tracks. Keep me posted dude.

In other news: I have to splice tape very soon, and I don't wanna.

gaslight 06-02-2009 03:11 AM

Splicing tape, whatever for?

Convectuoso 06-02-2009 03:17 AM

Lol it's one of the 'skills' I have to learn for my course. We get this dialogue and we have to find the mistakes on the tape reel, cut it out, then join it together with a special adhesive tape. Kind of redundant in the current digital industry but apparently it's really fun.

gaslight 06-02-2009 03:27 AM

Haha wow. Pretty cool really, I can see why learning about analog technology would be important. Gotta know your roots.

FunkMetalBass 06-02-2009 10:17 AM

My motherboard is shot. I replaced the power supply and I've gotten it to turn on once or twice throughout the week, but as soon as I try to do anything on it, it would shut off. Last night, I thought I had it (it ran for 12 hours while I was at work), but right when I started to backup my harddrives, it went to my favorite blue screen error message, and then shut off and hasn't powered up since.

Thank god the rest of my necessary parts come in tonight so that I can finish the new computer and get my old hdd stuff in it.

You're not a comic fan?

Epidemechanical 06-02-2009 03:32 PM

no man i really am not. they offer me no interest at all. i like literature not fancy artwork and the such

Spaceman Spiff 06-02-2009 03:44 PM

Not that I would call myself any sort of art buff, I've always been an art admirer.

And a superhero fan.

I read way more books than comics, though.

Epidemechanical 06-02-2009 03:59 PM

i LOVE superheroes. do not love comics.

Nuclear Rabbit - Intestinal Fortitude....if anybody was interested. Only one try left, first come, first serve.

Spaceman Spiff 06-02-2009 04:15 PM

I hate Nuclear Rabbit. I tried listening to them a few years ago and they did not impress.

Gattsu347 06-02-2009 04:58 PM

there is no song on that cd i can listen to all the way through, which sucks because some of them have some badass riffage and then degenerate into garbage.

Moon Flavor 06-02-2009 09:02 PM

Yeah they try too hard to be ~~ZaNY~~ and it doesn't work

karmapavementplan 06-03-2009 05:53 AM

yoink

gaslight 06-03-2009 06:05 AM

Jean Baudin seems like a cool bloke, didn't he post here for a bit once?

I felt bad when I found out how to say his name right when I've been saying Gene Bawdin in my head forever.

Yes, he is and yes, he did.

And I would have slapped you silly with my hideous claw if I found out you'd been pronouncing my name wrong.

gaslight 06-03-2009 09:35 AM

Anyone who can pronounce "FunkMetalBass" wrong by accident deserves a certificate of achievement.
Anyone who can pronounce "FunkMetalBass" wrong by accident deserves a certificate of achievement.
Pretty much.

I'd say my real name is harder to pronounce though:

Joe S. Wells.

:upset:

Epidemechanical 06-03-2009 10:09 AM

jean baudin is a douche

Moon Flavor 06-03-2009 11:05 AM

From what I remember he was very un-tight with his playing. He could tap some crazy stuff but it sounded bad because he didn't really have the inner rhythm nor could he accent **** properly.

And his slap pisses me off he's just not good at it.

fatbandit 06-03-2009 12:24 PM

element of surprise ftw

best stuff jean baudin's done

flip the switch is brutal

Moon Flavor 06-03-2009 12:27 PM

Element of Surprise wasn't that good either reminds me of Alien Ant Farm or some ****

gaslight 06-03-2009 12:35 PM

I think his pieces on Solace are quite beautiful.

fatbandit 06-03-2009 12:45 PM

Alien Ant Farm sound NOTHING like Element of Surprise.

Besides, ANThology is a sublime album, so it wouldn't be a bad thing.

And Solace is hit and miss, but still worth at least one listen.
