Worst comparison ever?
did you not read the last part of the sentence?

i could just as well compare it to sugar - it's good but use it too much or in the wrong context and it sucks

both analogies are apt, i tell you

I remember hearing some Salt The Wound a while back. Might take another listen.

Brees are not cool stuff

Pete 05-07-2008 05:19 PM

that's a matter of personal preference and opinion

Aakon_Keetreh 05-07-2008 05:22 PM

bree's are good if used rarely and at the right time.

RetiredAt21 05-07-2008 05:23 PM

MAD rarely.

dinosaurxbrocore 05-07-2008 06:50 PM

i love brees, i dont even mind if bands 'overuse' them

adb 05-07-2008 06:58 PM

which is the band with the triple Bree? Like breebreebree?

Pete 05-07-2008 06:59 PM

Circle Of Dead Children rule.

Why are Graf Orlock labeled as "deathcore" on MA? ****ing 'tards.

Pete 05-07-2008 08:10 PM
Circle Of Dead Children rule.
Exotic Sense Decay is my favorite. A Wooden Heart Never Bleeds and Scarecrow Trailer Park are such great songs.

it's just so short. "zero comfort margin" kinda sucked, but i hope they make up for it with the new album

Short and ****ing awesome, that's how I like my grind. And yeah, **** Zero Comfort Margin.

Pete 05-07-2008 08:27 PM

well the songs on "human harvest" are even shorter, it's just that there are more of them :p
I don't really get grindcore. Other extreme metal genres have strengths and characteristics that make them interesting and special. Black metal has its surprising bent towards melody and its unparalleled ability to surround the listener with an unsettling, unearthly atmosphere. Death metal has intricate, exotic rhythmic constructions and a driving energy that makes it the true successor to the 80s thrash bands. Even modern thrash is at least mildly entertaining to listen to, even if the creativity dried up around 1990. But this...this is just pure garbage, a senseless assault on the ears with no purpose other than making loud noises.

The most immediately apparent aspect of the band is Joe Horvath's hideous bastardization of a death growl. Instead of sounding like Glen Benton or Christoffer Johnsson or some other death metal great, he sounds like...a pig, shifted down an octave. Squealing, grunting, oinking out the lyrics, Horvath tries to be scary but ends up anything but. I was laughing when I first heard this band, but the band is so obnoxious and terrible that the humor wears off after the first ridiculously short track (59 seconds is not a song).

Jason Andrews's guitar playing consists of little more than random power chords played as fast as possible like some musical equivalent of bad stream of consciousness poetry. The technique is similar to that used in Anal Cunt--none whatsoever. It sounds like what your grandmother thinks death metal guitar playing sounds like. Some dude named Drew Haritan plays bass, but you can't hear him, and considering the abilities of the other musicians, he probably sucks anyway.

The drumming is a featureless banging with no rhythm, an obscene parody of a blastbeat that continues ceaselessly through every song. There's really not much more to be said, really--it just goes BANGBANGBANGBANGBANGBANG until your ears bleed.

Since grindcore musicians don't really know how to write songs, they keep them short, but not to the point, as there is no point besides making noise. The exception of Alkaline, an 11-minute abomination that will leave you begging for the end.

In short, don't buy this album. Buy something from Gorguts, Cannibal Corpse, Zyklon, or Mayhem. At least they know how to play their instruments and write a decent song.
RetiredAt21 05-07-2008 08:29 PM

That guy is a ****ing idiot, grind is supposed to make your ears bleed.

DUDES I'm ****in stoked.

Conducting From the Grave is playing here on the 27th with Carnifex.

I'm gonna have me a beergasm

dinosaurxbrocore 05-07-2008 11:03 PM

yeah they're playing here too but idk, I just saw Carnifex and the other bands are pretty shitty besides them and CFTG

Shred Danson 05-08-2008 12:32 AM

I haven't really heard Embrace the End, and I'm not into AGATG too much, but it'd be cool to chill with Carnifex before I head out on the road with them..plus Conducting is damn solid. I don't want to miss that show at all.

adb 05-08-2008 01:05 AM

ugh I know, Conducting is one of the best dxc bands hands down...but there's so much poop I'd have to sit through...

Shred Danson 05-08-2008 01:35 AM

Dude, I'm pretty sure they'll be opening for all the other bands on that tour.

adb 05-08-2008 02:50 AM

nah they're in the middle. 2 shitty local bands, Broadcasting the Nightmare, then them, then ETE, AGATG, and Carnifex

Its ok, they're in the same state as me, they'll be back (hopefully with a full length out and better bands) and I'll go then

Pete 05-08-2008 03:52 AM

talking about cftg, how bad were With Passion huh?

encmetalhead 05-08-2008 04:28 PM

Anyone got the new Aborted yet? (Last album had a bit of deathcore in it)

dinosaurxbrocore 05-08-2008 04:29 PM

yeah it's ****ing horrible
Anyone got the new Aborted yet? (Last album had a bit of deathcore in it)
That's because the last one sucked and the new one will be just as bad.

SUCK ON IT

adb 05-08-2008 10:26 PM

aborted sucks

dinosaurxbrocore 05-08-2008 11:08 PM

aborted used to rule

Pebster49 05-09-2008 01:41 AM

ya...your mom

AFragileHope 05-09-2008 02:57 AM

Goremageddon was amazing. Even the albums after it weren't all that bad but I expect that their new effort won't be anything brilliant.

New fave deathcore of the moment has to be Annotations of An Autopsy. Before the Throne of Infection is a sick album.

Pete 05-09-2008 04:57 AM

i'm listening to theis Born of Osiris now for the second time since i downloaded it because people say its good

its not
